A Different Smallville

Chapter 107: Chapter 107

Landing softly on the sidewalk, a young man with black hair and blue eyes looked around. Dressed in simple but very stylish jeans and shirt that while didn't scream nouveau riche, also didn't scream cheap either. Then his head looked down at the paper in his hand, before walking towards a building where others could be seen waiting to enter.

The young man was Leonardo and wondered if he came to the right place. Aurora told him to come to this address and even picked out his outfit. So walking over to the building, he managed to find someone who was currently allowing a certain amount to enter at a time. He asked and figured out he did indeed come to the right place.

Dialing Aurora number, "I have arrived and currently outside the building. Can you tell me what I am doing now?" Leonardo asked.

"You arrived? Great, wait a few minutes."

Looking at his phone, Leonardo was hung up on. So he just tucked his phone away and decided to wait a bit. Where a woman introduced herself as Aurora assistant and brought him inside much to those in line many grumbles. Yet, none told him why they were all waiting inside the building.

Then he was told to sit for a while until he was called, and to read over the highlighted lines. So seeing that it was a script, Leonardo began to read it and felt something strangely familiar. Almost too familiar, so he flipped through it and looked for the name.

'Did Aurora seriously have me audition for a part in Twilight!' Leonardo felt like face palming.

Luckily it wasn't part of the main couples Edward and Bella, instead it was Emmett. Still, it just felt so wrong to trick him into a series he wrote in this world. Not to mention, Aurora must have been plotting this for a while.

While he knew a few of his many, many books were picked up or some showed interest in filming. He didn't think Aurora's Studio managed to pick up this one. Then he remembers Aurora complaining about not getting a project she wanted, but managed to become one of the top investors.

Finishing reading all his lines, there wasn't much truth be told since while there were a few lines here and there. Most of the movie took a show approach and most of the lines were between Edward and Bella if not Bella's thoughts. Hence, he sort of shifted into the background for the most part since if he reads this script right. He among the rest of the Cullens family tends to stand at the back staring at each other.

'Why did I write Twilight?' Leonardo cried to himself.

Then Leonardo began to wonder what he should do if he gets the part. If they try to style his hair, it wouldn't end well, unless he has blue kryptonite or they have magic scissors. Not to mention if they want him to bulk up a bit.

While such strange ideas went around his mind as he tried to think of a way to get around such issues. He was soon called and walked onto a small platform where a few men and women circled him. Whispering to themselves, they seemed to agree with his appearance, and decided to wait and see how well he said his lines.

'What lines?" Leonardo lightly coughed mentally to himself.

"So you had a bit of time to look over the script. Why don't you pick out the part you're most comfortable with." A woman began.

Leonardo noticed that she sat down at the chair with the director's title printed on it. So he assumed her to be the current director of the movie. Which made him realize, he probably should look at some of the emails about his books more often. Since besides issues that might or have arised, he tends to skip over them for the most part.

"I will do the kitchen scene where they prepare lunch for Bella who is visiting the Cullens house for the first time." Leonardo said.

Then Leonardo moved a bit as he prepared an invisible kitchen for himself. Then moving his hands as if he was preparing a meal, he tried to channel the character.

"Are you even sure she is italian?" Leonardo used a bit of Ventriloquism and changed his voice a bit.

It truthfully wasn't a hard skill in his opinion since it just requires a bit of practice. The hard part comes from the need to practice and needing to continuously explore and expand the skill. Well, that is if he wasn't kryptonian since even if he hasn't done it for a while, besides a bit of rust, he could be considered one of the best Ventriloquists.

"Her name is Bella." Leonardo said as if it was obvious.

He didn't say it like he knew everything, but as if it was obvious from the fact he knew. So the tone and the feeling given off of how he said it didn't sound rude but more like a joking tone.

"Alright, he's got talent."

The woman said right away making Leonardo nearly stumble a bit as he barely got started and said one line. There were a few more lines after this, he could have done, but apparently he got talent. Even if it was probably through the backdoor and made him wonder why Aurora made him go through this.

Luckily, Leonardo wasn't the only one confused as the others watching this audition had a similar confused look. So after obtaining the information, Leonardo was booted out the door where he somehow secured a role in a movie adaptation of his book.

'Well, I guess acting isn't too bad. Sort of makes me go back on my words I hounded Clark about.' Leonardo did feel a bit like a hypocrite and felt bad.

How he will hide his identity and save Clark from the grief of being half identified when he goes public as a hero. He will need to think about it and hopefully Aurora thought this far ahead. Otherwise, he will have to seriously wreck his head about the issue.

"Should I be concerned?" Leonardo asked.

"Not at all, Mr. Kent."

Before Leonardo was a man in his sixties who suddenly called and asked him to meet him at a small coffee shop. He was told it had something to do with filming and so upon meeting the man it would seem so. Hence, Leonardo just asked if it was concerning about his part like it was given away or something. Something he didn't mind at all.

"I was hired as your acting trainer. It's nothing shameful as many actors will hire a coach or trainer when researching or practicing for a role. Since I was informed this is your first time truly acting for a camera, I thought of getting a head start on your crash course." The man answered. "My name is William, you can call me that or Mr. W. Either one is fine."

Leonardo just nodded as he studied the older man before him for a moment. Then he held out his hand for him.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, William." Leonardo said. "When shall we begin?"

Looking at his watch, William glanced up at him. "From what I have been informed of, filming begins in a few days. I would like to begin even if you don't have a present in the scene being shot. The sooner you have a bit of knowledge of the process the better."

--

While Leonardo was off learning the process and being trained for his role. In Smallville, Lois was having a bit of a rough time. Since she was sure she saw Chloe snuggling up with some guy she doesn't know and without Jimmy. Now, she wished she knew where Clark was to help her look into this, but according to Chloe and Raya, he wasn't in Smallville or the surrounding states. So she had to fly solo on this story and she hoped she was just misunderstanding her cousin.

'Chloe would never cheat on Jimmy.' Lois said to herself. 'That tall, handsome paramedic must hold a story she is after.'

While collecting her thoughts, Lois paced her room repeating this thought as if doing so would make sure it was reality. So hyping herself up, she began to sort out a list of finding out who the man is, his background, and anything newsworthy happening to him lately. Granted she did want to investigate a series of missing shady people lately.

'Chloe is more important than a story. I also can't have my camera boy go on leave due to heartbreak.' Lois thought to herself.
