Chapter 4: The Truth
"I am the greatest scientist," she declared, "and together with my best friend Karen, plus our two assistants Connie and Rim, a total of four of us, we have dedicated our lives to researching time tunnels and how to travel through them. After many tears and hard work, we successfully created a vehicle capable of entering and traveling through the time tunnel."
Doraemon took a deep breath: "So what happened next? What did you do with this vehicle?"
"What else could we do? Of course, we traveled through the time tunnel to different eras. However, during one of our trips to 10 years in the future, we suddenly discovered that the Earth had become a wasteland, completely desolate, with no signs of life. The Earth had lost its green, it was destroyed."
Doraemon and Nobita jumped in shock: "Does this mean the Earth will be destroyed in 500 years?"
Kelly tilted her head in confusion and corrected: "I said 10 years later, not 500 years."
Nobita nodded in understanding. Kelly was referring to the time 10 years from her own time, not from now.
Doraemon's voice trembled: "Go on, what happened next?"
"We were all very scared and quickly used the time machine to investigate the reason for Earth's destruction. It turned out that it was because humans and robots had gone to war. The robots used a special type of radioactive material that destroyed the vitality of cells. Since robots don't have cells, they weren't afraid and used that radiation to wreak havoc.
In just a few days, one-third of all life on Earth was destroyed. Humanity, cornered, decided to end it all, activating all nuclear weapons to annihilate everything."
Doraemon frowned: "Why did the war happen? Aren't robots supposed to be controlled by humans?"
Kelly shook her head and laughed: "Robots have long been free from human control, thanks to "Father", the greatest scientist in human history. 400 years ago, he invented robots with independent thinking.
These robots had their own thoughts, emotions like joy, anger, love, and could make their own decisions. However, for hundreds of years, robots remained the loyal friends of humanity, kind, compassionate, and brave, always helping others.
But for some unknown reason, one day all the robots suddenly rebelled and attacked humanity. They wanted to replace humans as the rulers of the Earth, and that's when the war broke out."
Nobita and Doraemon exchanged looks and then asked: "If you knew that Earth would be destroyed and the reason why, why didn't you warn everyone? So they could prepare."
Kelly suddenly laughed loudly and said: "Warn them? Why should I do that? This is my opportunity! If I use it well, I could become humanity's savior, become the queen, the ruler."
Nobita furrowed his brow, thinking, "This woman's ambition is huge."
Kelly continued: "After I learned that humanity was about to be destroyed, I knew my opportunity had come. All I had to do was announce this, let the despair give birth to hope, and make them believe that only I could save everyone. That's when I would become the savior of the world.
The plan is simple: show them the future, and then propose a solution to avoid the apocalypse: take everyone back to the past. What if the future is an apocalypse? If we go back to the past, we won't need to worry. And only I, Kelly-sama, can do that.
Faced with life and death, they will have to meet all my demands, and I will become the world's greatest queen! Ha ha ha ha."
Doraemon felt disgusted: "Did your assistants agree with this?"
Kelly's expression changed, and she gritted her teeth: "Who dares to defy me? I will make them regret it! But in the end, only Karen was willing to carry out this plan with me. Connie and Rim, those fools, got short-circuited and wanted to save humanity."
Nobita scratched his head and asked: "How did they plan to save humanity? Do they have a solution?"
"At first, I didn't care, thinking they were just wasting their time. But when Karen and I were about to carry out the plan, those fools broke into my lab and used the time machine to go back to the past. After some investigation, I figured out where they went and started to understand what they were planning to do. There was no choice, so I had to put my plan on hold."
Nobita and Doraemon took a deep breath: "What was their plan?"
"Those two used the time machine to go back 400 years, and then infiltrated Father's childhood when he was just a child.
They investigated and learned about Father, and then created two biological puppets. Connie named her puppet Jaian, while Rim named hers Suneo. After that, Connie found a family with only one daughter, and Rim found a family that had recently lost a child due to premature birth. The two then used a hypnosis tool emitting ultrasonic waves to hypnotize the entire neighborhood. From there, Jaian and Suneo were born. Connie and Rim hid in the background, controlling the two puppets.
The family with only one daughter believed that Jaian was their biological child, and the family that had lost their child believed Suneo was their own. They let Jaian and Suneo become Father's friends, and then continually controlled the puppets to criticize and mock Father, making him lose faith and hope for the future.
They wanted to make Father into an ordinary, meaningless person, completely changing his life, so that Father would never invent robots with independent thinking. If these robots were never created, they would not rebel against humanity, and the war would never happen."
Doraemon suddenly realized, sighing: "I see now. I had noticed their actions were strange, and I even tested them several times but couldn't find the reason. I never expected the truth to be like this."
Kelly angrily scolded: "If Earth wasn't destroyed, how could I become the world's greatest queen? That's why I wanted to stop them. Karen and I followed them to this era but couldn't find those two little brats until yesterday. Damn, I didn't expect those fools to hide so well."
Nobita was already in shock, unable to speak. At this moment, he felt dizzy, his thoughts drifting like they were in the clouds. Finally, weakly, he asked: "Jaian and Suneo were just puppets? And the ones behind it were your two assistants? From 500 years in the future? They came just for me? Am I really "Father"?"
Kelly nodded: "Yes, those two idiots deserve to die for trying to turn Father into an ordinary man."
Nobita lost his balance and reached for a tree to steady himself, then barely stood up: "This morning, I went to find Jaian and Suneo, but both seemed to have disappeared from the world. No one knew of their existence. Did you do this?"
Kelly nodded, her expression relaxing as she smiled: "Yes, I found them, suppressed them, and captured them. The two puppets were retrieved, and I neutralized the hypnosis waves, so no one remembers Jaian and Suneo. The Goda family still only has one daughter, and the Honekawa family's child has long passed away."
"When I called for Suneo, no one answered at first, then I heard crying. It was the sound of a mother crying... Mrs. Honekawa... When I called Suneo, it made her recall those tragic memories. No wonder Mr. Honekawa got so angry."
Doraemon patted Nobita's shoulder to comfort him: "Nobita, I'm sorry. I should have told you earlier that you are Father. In 20 years, you will become the greatest scientist in human history."
Nobita collapsed to the ground, holding his head with both hands. He really couldn't believe all this. Jaian and Suneo were just puppets, created by two people from 500 years in the future, and he was Father—the greatest scientist and the one who invented independent-thinking robots, which led to the destruction of Earth.
Doraemon hugged Nobita: "Nobita, none of this is your fault. And it's not too late; everything can still be saved!"
Nobita suddenly looked up, asking: "Doraemon, you knew I would become Father in 20 years, didn't you?"
Doraemon nodded in reply.
"So I'm not useless and helpless, and I'm not someone with massive debts who will affect my descendants, right?"
Doraemon froze, his face turning pale.
Nobita continued: "If I'm not like that, then why did you come to be by my side? Who is Sewashi? What's your real goal? Answer me, Doraemon!"
Doraemon, his face pale, lowered his head: "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have lied to you, Nobita. I… it's come to this point… Alright, I will tell you the truth. I can't lie to you any longer."
