A Different Doraemon World

Chapter 25: Atlantis

Kelly placed her hand on the "V" insignia on her collar, looking cautiously at Shizuka. "Who are you? How dare you infiltrate this lady's laboratory? And how did you get in?"

Connie and Rim, standing nearby, exchanged grave glances at the girl before them. They had also heard the exchange between Nobita and this mysterious woman. Was this really Shizuka? As expected, she was not an ordinary person. Connie retreated toward Karen and whispered softly, "Where's my GGD and Rim's NRG?"

Karen carefully retrieved a pair of golden bracelets and a white metal sword hilt from her side pouch, discreetly handing them to Connie and Rim. She then took out a compression box and a metallic rod, holding them at the ready. If anything went awry, she was prepared to act immediately.

Every movement from the group was keenly observed by Shizuka. Though they tried to hide their intentions, they couldn't escape her sharp eyes. Yet, she remained calm and spoke, " "I've always been beside you all; you just never noticed... Well, almost no one noticed…." she said, her gaze settling on Doraemon.

"Sh-Shizuka, even you..." Nobita stammered, trembling as he looked at her. He never imagined she, too, harbored secrets.

Shizuka stepped forward. Kelly's group tensed, but Doraemon signaled them not to act rashly. Shizuka approached Nobita and said gently, "I'm sorry, Nobita, but don't worry. I mean no harm. I stayed hidden by your side only to investigate certain matters."

Kelly furrowed her brows, her hand still resting on her collar. "What are you investigating, and who exactly are you? An alien?"

Shizuka chuckled, spreading her hands. "I'm an Earthling, a human of the Primordial Race."

Finally, Doraemon spoke up. "She is an Atlantean, a survivor of the Atlantis civilization—the original civilization of Earth. This is her true identity!"

Everyone was stunned at Doraemon's words. A primordial civilization? An Atlantean? Shizuka is an Atlantean?

Shizuka's gaze sharpened as she fixed her eyes on Doraemon, her tone heavy with accusation. "Ah, so you haven't forgotten about us after all. If that's the case, tell me, Përjetësia, Explain to me why you wanted to destroy Atlantis? We always saw you as gods, our saviors. So why did you annihilate us?"

Everyone was startled, turning to Doraemon. The robot shook his head. "That's not true. We didn't destroy Atlantis. We don't even know why that meteor caused such a catastrophe!"

"Ridiculous!" Shizuka's face flushed with anger. She pointed her trident at Doraemon and shouted, "You slaughtered the Atlanteans, and now you claim ignorance? Are our lives nothing but a joke to you?"

"Please, calm down!" Nobita rushed forward, positioning himself between Shizuka and Doraemon, pleading, "There must be some kind of misunderstanding here!"

Shizuka glanced at Nobita, her expression softening slightly. However, her gaze quickly returned to Doraemon, still demanding answers.

Kelly approached cautiously, still wary but sensing that Shizuka's hostility was mainly directed at Doraemon. She asked, "Can you tell us what happened?" Her curiosity was piqued about the history between Përjetësia and Atlantis.

Shizuka took a deep breath and sighed. "Alright..." She paused briefly before continuing. "Doraemon must have told you that life on Earth came to be because the Përjetësia sent a meteor containing the primordial forms of life, correct?"

Everyone nodded. Doraemon had indeed explained this before.

"Then, do you know why the Përjetësia did that?" Shizuka asked the group.

They all shook their heads, puzzled. Doraemon had never elaborated on the Përjetësia's motives.

Shizuka let out a cold laugh, "Before that meteor arrived, there was already another race on Earth—the true primordial lifeforms: the Atlanteans."

Karen murmured in astonishment, "Our hypothesis, the traces we found..."

"Your hypothesis is correct," Shizuka confirmed. "The remnants of a primordial civilization that you discovered belong to the Atlanteans. Sigh..." She sighed heavily, a trace of sorrow in her voice, before continuing, "Our civilization was highly advanced, but Earth's environment at the time was far too harsh. Even as a species born alongside Earth, we struggled to keep up with its constant changes. Thus, Project OMEGA was initiated. We planned to migrate to another dimension to survive."

"Even as the primordial race, the Atlanteans were that advanced?" Kelly asked in amazement.

Shizuka nodded, then shook her head. "Not everyone wanted to move to another dimension. The living conditions there were dreadful—not as harsh as Earth at the time, but far from ideal. Hiding away there wasn't much better than staying here either, yet we had no other solution. Atlantis, for all its advancement, was still a young civilization. We weren't ready to colonize other planets; even the discovery of that dimension was just accidental.

Just when we were at a loss, the Përjetësia appeared, offering us hope. They guided us, helping us gradually overcome Earth's challenges at the time. We were deeply grateful, beginning to revere them as gods who had come to save Atlantis. But who could have known..." Shizuka's gaze turned to Doraemon, her anger evident. It took her a moment to calm herself before continuing.

"Our leaders at the time pleaded with the Përjetësia to transform Earth, helping us to flourish. In exchange, we were willing to meet any demands they had, even offering ourselves as subjects for their experiments. The Përjetësia agreed, intrigued by the dimension we had discovered. After reaching an agreement, they announced their plan to send a meteor to Earth, containing special microorganisms that would transform the environment, making it more hospitable and fostering a diverse and rich biosphere.

The day the meteor arrived was one of great celebration. We believed a new era was dawning. But that joy quickly turned to horror. The microorganisms didn't just transform the environment—they began to annihilate us. We didn't understand. Why would the Përjetësia do this? What had we done to displease them?

No answers came. In the end, we had no choice but to activate Project OMEGA, retreating into that dimension to escape annihilation."

The group fell silent after hearing Shizuka's story. All eyes turned to Doraemon, awaiting his explanation. Shizuka, too, stared at him, her trident pressed threateningly close to his throat. Her voice trembled with fury, "Now, tell me—why did the Përjetësia do this to us?"
