A Different Doraemon World

Chapter 16: Origin of Humanity

Sixty five million years ago, dinosaurs ruled the Earth but suddenly met with a catastrophic disaster and went extinct. Humans have never fully understood why, assuming it was caused by an asteroid impact. Little did they know, the entire catastrophe was nothing more than an unintentional act from another planet.

Doraemon continued: "Although the Great Migration plan was temporarily shelved, we never stopped debating how to deal with life on Earth. We spent millions of years but still couldn't reach a conclusion. Our planet was divided into two factions: the Peaceful Faction and the Action Faction.

The Action Faction argued that for the future of Përjetësia, we should destroy Earth, and with it the Solar System, before moving our planet to Universe M. The Peaceful Faction, however, believed that life is priceless, regardless of its value, rank, or status. They argued that we had no right to deprive others of their right to exist and were willing to rebuild Përjetësia rather than destroy life on Earth."

Karen rubbed her temples. 'You debated for millions of years? Well, I suppose millions of years aren't much for the people of Përjetësia, right?'

Doraemon's expression changed slightly as he said ambiguously: "Indeed, a few million years isn't long for us. But there were also events during this time that prolonged the process. Moreover, we debated in a calm and measured manner, unlike humans who tend to resort to anger or violence over disagreements. We presented arguments and reasoning in peace, and only when everyone was convinced would we proceed. If there was still opposition, the plan would be delayed indefinitely. After all, time holds little significance for us."

Karen nodded gravely and then asked anxiously: "So what was the outcome of this debate?"

"Initially, the Action Faction held the majority vote. At that time, although life on Earth was diverse, it was primarily wild beasts with low intelligence. To change the situation, the Peaceful Faction secretly sent envoys to Earth. They selected a species with relatively higher intelligence compared to others, taught them to walk on two legs, and imparted techniques and wisdom, nurturing them into beings with higher intelligence.

These efforts are reflected in many human histories. The beings humans refer to as gods were actually the envoys sent by the Peaceful Faction!"

"So that's how humanity came to exist?" Karen murmured. "The myths and legends passed down for generations among humans originated from you guys…"

Kelly also lifted her head at this moment: "Humans were originally wild beasts in the jungle, but suddenly they broke away from this state and slowly evolved into a species with higher intelligence. We have never been able to figure out the reason or the cause, and never thought it would turn out like this... But why, in the end, did you all still decide to destroy humanity? Was it because the Peaceful Faction was being suppressed?"

Doraemon didn't answer Kelly's question and instead continued: "The Peaceful Faction continued to save humanity whenever they faced calamities, playing a significant role in human development, and in their honor, humans created countless religions around them.'

"Buddhism, Christianity, Islam… Jesus, Shakyamuni… were they all envoys of the Peaceful Faction?" Karen whispered.

Doraemon nodded. "They were just a few of many, the relatively successful ones. They guided humanity, helping them slowly build civilization. The wildness of the past was gradually erased, and humans became a more advanced species. The Action Faction was gradually persuaded, and we came up with a solution that would satisfy both sides: a way to destroy the Solar System without eradicating life on Earth!"

"Find a suitable planet for humans and relocate them there?" Kelly, Karen, and Nobita started to grasp the idea.

"Exactly!" Doraemon nodded, but his expression turned sorrowful. "But things didn't go as smoothly as we had hoped."

The others looked at Doraemon in confusion. "Why not?"

"When we proposed this solution, there were no objections. It passed unanimously. We then spent hundreds of years searching for a star system suitable for humans. Eventually, we discovered a system resembling the solar system in Universe H. We terraformed a planet there, and once everything was ready, we sent envoys to Earth again. This time, we wanted to communicate and negotiate with humanity about relocating. But when our envoys arrived, they witnessed a disheartening reality.

Despite all our previous teachings about compassion and love, humans didn't cherish life, nor did they cherish the Earth. They had become a stain on this beautiful planet. If we relocated humans to another planet, within decades, they would wreak havoc there too, endangering other innocent life forms. After all, humans don't even care for the lives of their own kind, let alone the lives of other species. HUMANS ARE UNWORTHY OF LIVING ON EARTH OR ANYWHERE ELSE!!!" Doraemon shouted.

Kelly, Karen, and Nobita were stunned, standing frozen, unable to argue. Because it was true—a painful truth about humanity.
