Ch131 - What could have happened?
Ji-hun recalled what Jeong-o had said a little while ago. Seven years ago, he had disliked her drinking. Jeong-o had been curious about why he felt that way. Although the memories didn’t come back, he felt he understood that reason.
Lee Jeong-o was just too beautiful.
Even though he knew that he shouldn’t provoke a drunk person, desires began to creep up. If he felt this way now, how much more tortured had he been in the early days of their relationship?
“I should have taken pictures from every angle. I should have recorded more videos…”
Jeong-o didn’t seem to understand Ji-hun’s advice to be more composed as she continued to talk about Ye-na, shedding tears of regret. Her clear, shimmering eyes, filled with tears, captivated Ji-hun despite her innocent expression. He found himself mesmerized, lowering his head.
Having eaten fruit continuously and likely having snatched away plenty of Ye-na’s candies, her breath smelled sweet. As she cried, her words came out as murmurs against his lips. Her voice tickled him.
Ji-hun turned his head to the side, letting out a sigh he hadn’t yet voiced as he looked at Jeong-o. The moisture clinging to her eyelashes, like the tip of a colored brush, made him feel as if his heart had become a canvas ready to be painted.
Should he stop here or somehow convince her? Torn between his conscience and desire, Ji-hun called out to Jeong-o.
“Hey.”
“Yeah.”
“…….”
“Why? Hey.”
With half-open, reddened eyes, Jeong-o called him back, her voice as sweet as the breath he had experienced. Another sigh escaped Ji-hun’s lips, which had been stiff from his turmoil.
Her gaze, touch, voice—whatever it was, Ji-hun simply couldn’t reject everything about Lee Jeong-o.
The next morning.
Drrring. Jeong-o awoke to the alarm and reached out to turn it off, only to startle and bury herself back under the covers.
Where are my clothes? Why am I like this?
She had woken up not in the master bedroom, but in the room next to it, having slept deeply. And she had taken off all her pajamas.
In the seven years she had shared a room with their child, she had never woken up like this. Even on the days when she had overindulged, she had always woken up neatly next to the child. There was no way she would have let herself appear in such a natural state.
Fortunately, her clothes were within reach. The way they were discarded was quite fresh, so Jeong-o quickly realized who had done it. She hurriedly dressed and left the room. Laughter from Guksun could be heard from the kitchen.
“Did our son-in-law make cubed radish when I asked him to cut tofu?”
“Mom said 1.5 cm, didn’t she?”
“If you’re cutting on one side at 1.5 cm, then why did you do that all around?”
“Still, I’m better than Jeong-o, right?”
“Is that even a valid point?”
Mrs. Lee Guksun was so cheerful that her laughter flowed with every word. As Jeong-o got closer, she saw her mother and husband happily cooking together in the kitchen. The matching aprons they wore made Jeong-o’s eyes sting for some reason.
“Are you awake?”
Ji-hun, who had been chatting with Guksun, noticed Jeong-o first and asked.
“Oppa, you need to get ready for work.”
“Oh right, I need to hurry. What would our director think if I’m like this in the morning?”
With Jeong-o’s urging, Guksun added her own comments. Finally, Ji-hun took off his apron and left the kitchen. Jeong-o pulled him by the hand and led him to an empty room to ask,
“What happened last night?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, I woke up without any clothes on.”
“Must have been really hot.”
“Ha! Do you think I wouldn’t know?”
Even as Jeong-o got flustered, Ji-hun shrugged nonchalantly. Although he was being infuriating, there wasn’t time for a long back-and-forth. Jeong-o narrowed her eyes and warned him,
“I’ll let it slide this time.”
“…….”
“If it happens again, I’ll do the same thing to you. No more passes.”
“Hmm, that sounds even better.”
Her threat didn’t faze him at all.
Smack! In the end, Ji-hun received a light hit on the arm from Jeong-o.
“Ow. That hurts. Hey.”
Ji-hun pouted and narrowed his eyes, but Jeong-o didn’t relent.
“What could have happened to you in those seven years?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Somehow, you seem like a much upgraded pervert compared to seven years ago.”
“I think you’re misunderstanding a lot. I didn’t do anything. Really. And—”
“…….”
“If you’re reacting that way over that, our married life is going to be quite surprising and mysterious.”
…What’s so mysterious about it?
Jeong-o let out a sigh of disbelief and shouted into the air,
“I’m never drinking again!”
“Great. That’s what I was hoping for. Don’t drink.”
With Jeong-o’s determination, Ji-hun eagerly piled on his own wish.
Lee Jeong-o, you have no idea how conscientious and kind I am. For a lifetime.

A day that stood in stark contrast to the peacefulness of home.
