Chapter 905  The Last Mission: Vincent's Proposal

Day Ninety-Six…

"Are you certain that all victims from the explosion were brought here?" Nathan asked the staff at the reception desk of the hospital.

He had been searching for Mrs. Frost and Jane all over the hospital. But five hours had passed yet he hadn't seen them in the hospital.

"Yes, sir. Upon checking with the responder team, the victims from the explosion were only brought here," The staff replied to Nathan's query.

Stephen and Aiden approached Nathan. They had been helping him in searching for Jane.

"Nate. Negative. Jane is not here!" Aiden said, disappointed.

"I have a bad feeling about this. We need to locate the ambulance. Can you remember the plate number?" Stephen joined the conversation.

Nathan clenched his fists tightly. He didn't see the plate number of the ambulance last night.

"Oh my god! What if the mastermind behind the explosion kidnapped Jane!" Aiden blurted out exasperatedly.

Nathan's expression darkened further. There was no way to trace Jane's location. She didn't bring her phone with her. Enraged, he slammed his fists on the table, shocking everyone.

"I have to find her as soon as possible!" Nathan mumbled through his gritted teeth.

"Mr. Hiroshi also summons his men to search for Jane. Tatsumi and Hanabi are on the move," Stephen informed Nathan.

At that certain moment, Nathan picked up his phone to call Axel. He also needed to deploy some men in this country.

Axel's phone rang several times before it was answered. But to his surprise, it was Chantha who spoke from the other line.

"Supreme Leader." Chantha's voice was a little bit hoarse from crying. "Where is Axel?" Nathan asked, frowning.

"Supreme Leader… Axel… is still in the ICU," she replied in a sad tone.

Nathan was taken aback for a moment. 'ICU? Why?'

"What happened to him? No one told me about this!" Nathan sounded annoyed and worried.

Chantha slammed her eyes shut, gritting her teeth as she recalled the devastating scene she had witnessed at the site of the ambush.

"Axel and his team were escorting Monica to the mental facility. However, they were ambushed by armed men. Everyone died, except Axel. But he received several gunshots. His condition is still unstable."

Nathan felt like all his remaining energy had been drained from him after hearing that piece of bad news.

"How about Vincent? Are they still monitoring him?" Nathan had a nagging feeling that Vincent was the one who orchestrated this.

There was a moment of silence from the other line. Violet informed Chantha that they didn't inform Nathan about these unfortunate incidents because they didn't want to ruin his proposal. They wanted them to focus on his confession.

However, they miscalculated and underestimated Vincent's capabilities. As a result, Nathan was unaware that Vincent had escaped his men's radar.

"Chantha! Speak up!" Nathan's stern cold voice resounded from the other line. He knew something was wrong.

"Supreme Leader, the surveillance team all died. We are still searching for–"

"FUCK!" Nathan cursed loudly, cutting her words off.

Now, it made sense to him. Vincent was the culprit behind the bombing! He was the only person who could have pulled this off!

"You should have told me this earlier! What the hell are you thinking?!" Nathan was fuming in rage.

"Supreme Leader… forgive us. We thought we could handle things here. We didn't want to disturb you. We want you to focus on your proposal."

"Damn it!" Nathan cursed again. He was exploding right now. "Don't you know what happened here? We were attacked! Jane's comrades died in the explosion last night! And now, she had gone missing! And this is all Vincent's plan!"

Chantha was stupefied. She didn't expect that things would get out of hand. They didn't know that Nathan and the others were attacked last night.

"Nate, please calm down. We are in a hospital," Stephen said, reminding him. He patted his best friend's back, trying to calm him down.

However, no words could make him calm down right now. "I need to find her before Vincent does something to her!"

"Supreme Leader?" Chantha was anxious. Nathan was furious. And it looked like he was mad at them for keeping the information from him.

"I'll deal with everyone after this. For now, tell them to come here. They have to find Jane and Vincent. If they fail, I'll kill them!" Nathan commanded Chantha. He was referring to the branch leaders who were stationed in Country M.

"Okay, Boss. I'll inform them of your command."

"You don't have to come here. Stay by Axel's side. Update me about his condition." After saying those words, Nathan hung up the phone.

Meanwhile, Jane had regained consciousness. She peeled her eyes open only to find out that she couldn't move her body. Her body felt so heavy and numb.

'Damn it. Where am I?' She thought to herself. She knew Vincent had done something to her. Though she was not restrained, her muscles felt so numb that she couldn't even lift her fingers.

"You are finally awake." Vincent's voice was heard.

He was leisurely sitting on the vacant chair next to Jane. He was watching her intently.

"What have you done to me, Vincent?" Jane snarled at him.

Vincent grinned broadly before he reached out, caressing her face. "Don't worry, Jane. the effect of Neuromuscular Blocking Agents will be gone in a few hours. I just need to do this as a precautionary measure. You are a legendary assassin. If I'm not careful, you can kill me on the spot with your bare hands."

"What do you want from me? I thought you've changed. Haven't you reflected on your actions?" Jane couldn't believe that Vincent could be this twisted. He wasn't sincere when he apologized to her. She was deceived by his pretentious act.

Vincent let out a humorless laughter. "I'm sorry, Jane. But after reflecting, I've realized I can't give up on you. My brother's proposal failed miserably. Now it's my turn to propose to you."

"I'll let you choose. Come with me, Jane. Marry me and leave Nathan. In exchange, I will let my brother live." Vincent proposed to Jane.

"You're crazy! Why would I come with you? I hate you to the core. You are the ones who killed my comrades! I know you were behind the bombing incident!" Jane spat back at him.

Vincent just stared at her with a smile. "I can give you a complete family. You, and me… together with our daughter."

'Daughter? What does he mean by that? Is he referring to Mia?'
