Tales of Anh Sang is a 12-part novelette following Bian Ong Ma on her journey of revenge, guided by the legendary spirit of Ha Linh. Set against the backdrop of a Vietnamese-inspired arcanepunk world, Bian and Ha Linh travel across richly imaginative and diverse lands as they uncover dark secrets, face dangerous supernatural enemies, and struggle with their own internal conflicts of being abandoned by the people they held closest in their hearts. The first story, Tales of the Rat, recounts their fateful meeting and sets the stage for their journey, as they confront pirates, explosive magic, and treachery in a world shaped by ancient legends and modern betrayals.   The story explores Bian's journey in discovering her connection to the legendary hero Ha Linh and what it means for her as an individual. Her struggle to balance the influence of Ha Linh’s spirit while asserting her own independence mirrors the challenges we face as second-generation Asian American to find our own identity while honoring the generations that came before us. The Tales of Anh Sang is my love letter to Vietnam, intertwined with my life as an American citizen.
