Chapter 144: System Scan: Evaluating the Female Zombie Knight Guard’s ASSets — Part 2.
The Knight Guard— a perfect ten in both beauty and combat raised her shield high, ready to deliver the final, crushing strike. Sid's heart hammered against his ribs, knowing his next move was his last.
His body, however, was still being cataloged by the intrusive system, which refused to abandon its data collection. As Sid frantically tried to scramble away from the descending shield, the HUD flared with the next wave of analytical prompts, completely ignoring the imminent threat.
[Uniqueness]
Calculating…
"Oh, f*ck this— this scan has five steps! I've gotta survive three more of these?!"
Sid screamed a curse, barely rolling out of the way of the shield. The heavy shield slammed into the marble, sending up fragments that stung his face. He saw his chance: the hallway was lined with massive, dusty portraits. He lunged toward the nearest one, a ridiculously large depiction of a founding mayor.
"I don't have time for your Uniqueness score, you piece of junk!"
Sid yelled, grabbing the heavy wooden frame. He yanked it off the wall and hurled it at the Boss Guard.
[E: Pick Up Object (Portrait)] → [G: Improvised Projectile (Throw)]
The massive portrait struck the knight's shield with a loud smash, momentarily blinding her and buying Sid two precious seconds. He quickly limped toward the next source of cover— a row of decorative brass candelabras perched on a pedestal.
While the Knight Guard was struggling with the debris, the system executed the result of the calculation.
[10/10]
Perfect score!
"ANOTHER 10!? That's three in a row!"
[Allure]
Calculating…
"Seriously? She's wearing a helmet! You can't even see her face!"
Sid yelled, gathering the heavy candelabras. He tossed one at the Boss Guard's leg, hoping to trip her. It merely scraped the steel. The blue tracers swirled around the Knight's head, piercing through metal plating.
[5/10]
Decent score!
"Five out of ten with a helmet on? What kind of beauty is hiding under there?!"
Sid shouted, genuinely stunned despite the danger. He knew the system's rating was gospel.
The Knight Guard recovered from the portrait attack and charged again. Sid, desperate, grabbed the heavy velvet curtain hanging from a nearby window. He used his last ounce of strength to rip the thick fabric free and threw it over the charging knight, aiming to blind her.
[E: Pick Up Object (Curtain)] → [G: Improvised Projectile (Throw)]
The heavy velvet enveloped the knight's helmet and shield, momentarily halting the attack. The guard roared in frustration, tearing clumsily at the fabric. This granted Sid the final crucial seconds he needed.
[Community Value]
Calculating…
[7/10]
Sid squinted at the score, confused.
"Seven out of ten? Seriously? You're telling me a knight this strong, guarding that damn door like her life depends on it, only gets a five? What, did she skip teamwork day or something?"
With the final piece of data collected, the system's focus shifted from cold analysis to ultimate judgment. Sid was still pressed against the door, panting, the final score hovering over the struggling, curtain tangled knight.
A tall, vertical bar filled itself from bottom to top with a deep blue glow, locking in the results appeared.
[42/50]
Calculating…
Then, five empty star outlines appeared in the air above the Knight Guard's head. One by one, they began to fill with brilliant gold light, each chime echoing in the quiet hallway until all five shone brightly.
[FINAL BEAUTY RATING: ★★★★★]
SSR Tier – Eligible for Revival.
Sid stared, his jaw slack. He forgot the pain, forgot the immediate threat, and forgot Evelise. His entire consciousness that of the veteran gamer and streamer was overwhelmed.
"Oh my god,"
He whispered, a tremor running through his voice.
"I just... I just pulled an SSR Tier Tank! A perfect ten, fully armored, ready for immediate deployment!"
He recognized the potential—this was an impenetrable defensive wall, far stronger than the herbalist, attitude Evelise.
"This isn't just a zombie; this is a Legendary Drop! Another rarest pull in the game, a perfect stat, perfectly conditioned undead waifu!"
He took a desperate step back from the struggling knight, his focus shifting entirely from escape to acquisition.
The system, having completed its assessment, immediately delivered the crucial command.
[Beauty Scan Complete. The zombie girl is eligible for revival. You can now revive her by touching her chest.]
"Touching her chest... got it!"
Sid shoved the thought of the exposed thighs aside, knowing his priority. He limped forward, his adrenaline overriding the critical pain in his knee. The knight was still thrashing inside the curtain. Sid reached out, placing a palm flat against the cold, smooth steel of her breastplate.
He waited for the familiar surge of energy, the flash of blue light, and the Revival prompt. Nothing happened. He pressed harder, wincing at the cold metal.
"Come on, system! Why isn't it triggering? I'm touching her chest!"
The knight, sensing the strange inactivity, abruptly tore the heavy curtain away with a massive, frustrated heave, tossing the fabric and debris aside. Seeing Sid's hand pressed against her armor, the Knight Guard let out a metallic screech and swung her sword in a wide, punishing arc. Sid pulled back instantly, barely managing a Dodge Roll [Ctrl + Space Bar] that sent a jolt of fresh agony through his knee.
"Right! The armor!"
Sid realized, the fragmented thoughts clicking into place.
"It's blocking the touch! I need skin contact, or at least the fabric over the chest!"
His Stamina was dangerously low, flashing a desperate red. He had one chance left. Sid launched into a final, frantic Quick Swap sequence. The hallway turned into a whirlwind of flashing weaponry— Spear, Sword, Axe, repeat— all aimed at the upper breastplate of the formidable armor. He used every remaining drop of strength, hammering the steel relentlessly.
[Heavy Attack (Power Strike): [Right Mouse Button]]
He brought the Axe down with three successive, crushing blows against the same point on the steel breastplate.
CRANG! CRASH! CRICK!
The metal, weakened by years of neglect and the previous heavy impacts, finally gave way. The breastplate shattered outward, exposing what lay beneath.
