Chapter 1216: Treasure Hunt (Part 1)
"What's the matter? Does Reina Sword Saint also want to challenge me?" Lin Tian asked curiously.
"What do you think?" Xiao Manxue retorted.
Lin Tian hung up the phone, instructed Rossi to stay in the room, and then went out, quickly arriving at the Martial Arts Arena following the same route as in the morning. The windows of the Martial Arts Arena had already been repaired, though it was unclear if Uncle Mark would have to pay for it.
Upon entering the Martial Arts Arena, Reina was instructing the Miss on something. When she saw Lin Tian enter, she paused.
"Reina Sword Saint, what brings you to me?" Lin Tian asked directly.
"As you know, our two academies are about to jointly organize a cleanup hunting operation. The main target of this operation is vampires; however, dealing with vampires presents a very tricky problem because injured people get infected with malice and corpse poison. Those infected with malice and corpse poison are very difficult to heal."
"I would like to invite you to participate in this hunting operation as a doctor." Reina Sword Saint said frankly without beating around the bush.
Lin Tian looked at the Miss, meaning to say, is your mentor joking?
Reina thought Lin Tian was worried about his personal safety and added, "Rest assured, I will have Manxue protect you closely to ensure your safety."
Protection up close? Lin Tian glanced at the Miss with a smile in his eyes. Xiao Manxue naturally knew what Lin Tian was thinking, but she couldn't say anything because the close protection was proposed by her mentor.
"Reina Sword Saint, as a healer, I am honored to participate in this operation, and I also trust Miss Xiao's abilities to ensure my safety." Lin Tian said earnestly.
Reina Sword Saint smiled and praised, "Manxue said you are a kind and upright person, and you would definitely agree. She was indeed right, though you're not a knight, you have the heart of one."
Am I a kind and upright person? This little girl gave a pretty accurate assessment, Lin Tian thought with a chuckle, glancing at the Miss.
However, he still humbly said, "This is what any healer should do."
With Lin Tian's positive answer, Reina Sword Saint quickly left, probably because there were changes to be made after Lin Tian joined.
"Lin Tian, why didn't you tell my mentor about your power?" Xiao Manxue asked curiously.
Lin Tian shrugged indifferently, "She didn't ask; how could I say? Should I stand in front of Reina Sword Saint and arrogantly declare, I am strong? Reina Sword Saint would definitely think I'm an idiot."
"But..." Xiao Manxue wanted to say something, but Lin Tian interrupted her with a wave of his hand.
Lin Tian turned and walked out, saying as he went, "Miss, don't forget, you're my bodyguard now. Even when I sleep at night, you have to protect me closely."
"Protect your big head." Xiao Manxue glared at Lin Tian's back and said coyly.
Back in the dorm, Lin Tian continued his cultivation affairs and the refining of the Crescent Blade. The Crescent Blade had always been a puzzle to him. Despite refining it for so long, there had been no progress.
Lin Tian even gritted his teeth and used the power of fire for refining, but the Crescent Blade was like a stubborn rock, showing no sign of sword control.
He put away the Crescent Blade and lay down, about to sleep when a breeze blew in through the window. Lin Tian opened his eyes to see a person standing by the bed. To be precise, it was a woman.
The woman was wearing tight nightwear, with long legs and a curvy figure. Upon seeing the woman's face, it was actually the Miss.
"Miss, what do you want? I'm a man of integrity." Lin Tian said pleasantly, although his eyes were on the Miss's impressive chest. The fact is, a well-built woman in nightwear can really make a man wild.
Alone with him in a room, Xiao Manxue felt uneasy under his gaze. With a swish, she drew a dagger from her waist. Under the faint light, the blade appeared very sharp.
"Didn't you want me to protect you closely? I'm here now; are you satisfied?" Xiao Manxue asked with a half-smile, her eyes following the movement of the knife, which lingered particularly on a certain part of Lin Tian.
Lin Tian felt a chill in his groin; this little girl was not to be trifled with. He intentionally said, "Miss, you should think carefully about this; it concerns your future happiness."
"You..." Xiao Manxue's face turned red, for Lin Tian's words carried an ambiguous implication.
Lin Tian jumped up and said nonchalantly, "Tell me, what brought you to me so late?"
Xiao Manxue, unwilling to tease Lin Tian further, directly said, "Aren't you interested in the Sword of the King? If you want to know, follow me."
Having said that, Xiao Manxue moved and disappeared through the window. Lin Tian was initially stunned, then his eyes lit up, and he quickly followed, easily catching up with Xiao Manxue.
"Miss, don't leave half of what you say unfinished. What's going on?" With his curiosity piqued, Lin Tian urged.
Xiao Manxue kept moving and said, "What I said before about the Sword of the King being hidden in the Knight Academy wasn't quite accurate. It should be said to be hidden in Holy Spirit Town, about a kilometer around the Knight Academy. It's just a pity that no one has found it yet."
"How is this different from what you said before?" Lin Tian said somewhat disappointedly, thinking the Miss might have the whereabouts of the Sword of the King.
"Actually, before I graduated, I found some clues. The Sword of the King might be hidden behind the Knight Hall. However, because I graduated, I had no reason to stay, so the treasure hunt was put on hold. Besides, I'm not accustomed to using this type of sword and have no desire to own it, so I never thought of treasure hunting again afterwards." Xiao Manxue said.
"If you don't like Western swords, why do you still want to search for it now?" Lin Tian asked, puzzled.
"Even if I don't use it, I can find it for you. I see that your cultivation technique follows a power-based route, yet you lack a suitable weapon. A Western broad sword is just right for you." Xiao Manxue said with a wink.
Lin Tian was taken aback, not expecting the Miss to have such intentions. This little girl really knew how to care for someone and was quite considerate.
Xiao Manxue saw Lin Tian staring at her and blushed, hurriedly explaining, "Don't get me wrong, I'm not concerned about you. Remember Li Wenfeng?"
"Li Wenfeng is definitely not here just to learn Western martial arts; he's certainly also after the Sword of the King. As the eldest son of the Li Family, managing such busy affairs, if he abandoned family business just to learn martial arts in Holy Spirit Town, I wouldn't believe it. I'm just concerned about preventing the Sword of the King from falling into his hands."
Xiao Manxue's explanation seemed like she's hiding something, clearly caring yet pretending not to, which was quite in line with her usual style.
Lin Tian didn't point this out, only smiled and said, "I don't have a good impression of the Li Family either. I'd be more than happy to spoil Li Wenfeng's plans."
