Chapter 1154: Reunited at Last
The person who suddenly appeared was a middle-aged man, extremely tall, even taller than Lin Tian. He wore a long robe, with long hair tied back. Although not handsome, his features exuded authority.
Wearing an ordinary robe and keeping long hair, a man who wasn't a monk appearing in Ksitigarbha Hall made Lin Tian feel very strange.
Seeing that the other party had no hostility nor intention to attack, Lin Tian asked inquisitively, "Who are you?"
"Did you two come to Ksitigarbha Hall looking for someone?" The man did not answer who he was, but instead posed a question in return.
Lin Tian's eyebrows raised, surprised by the man's insight, not knowing how he figured it out. However, since the man did not attempt to drive them away, it meant there was room for discussion.
"Yes, I'm looking for a woman. She's my friend, and I heard she entered Ksitigarbha Hall." Lin Tian replied truthfully.
"The other day I saw a female benefactor enter Ksitigarbha Hall. I asked her what she was here for, and she said she wanted to find Ksitigarbha. However, Ksitigarbha was not in Ksitigarbha Hall, but the female benefactor didn't believe me and stayed without leaving. If you two are her friends, please help me persuade her," the man said earnestly.
"She wants to find Ksitigarbha? Why?" Lin Tian asked curiously. Ksitigarbha is one of the ultimate bosses in the Netherworld, and an ordinary person would hardly be able to meet him.
The man shook his head and said, "I don't know. She insists on finding Ksitigarbha, but won't say why."
"Where is my friend? Master, could you take us there?" Lin Tian asked courteously, as he did not know the man's identity and temporarily addressed him as "Master."
The man wasn't too concerned about the title, nodded, and said, "Your friend is in the main hall, please come with me."
Xiao Manxuan, somewhat worried, tugged at Lin Tian's sleeve. Too many things had happened recently, and the little girl's nerves were stretched too tight, fearing that this man was deceitful and it was a trap.
Lin Tian patted her hair and reassured, "Don't worry, it's okay."
The man walked ahead, seemingly not hearing their conversation. Lin Tian took Xiao Manxuan's hand and followed, passing through corridors until they arrived before a large hall.
The hall doors were very tall. As Lin Tian and the others were about to enter, a person came running out in a hurry, addressing the guide, "Master, I'm sincerely looking for Ksitigarbha. Please tell me where he is. I want to ask Ksitigarbha to help me save two people."
"Benefactor, I've told you many times, Ksitigarbha is not in Ksitigarbha Hall. Please return," the man said patiently.
"Sister Yu..."
Before the person could continue, they suddenly heard a familiar voice, causing them to pause and look past the middle-aged man, seeing two very familiar people.
The one calling out was naturally Xiao Manxuan, and the person who ran out from the main hall was Zhang Lingyu. Upon seeing Lin Tian and the others, Zhang Lingyu was stunned, then rushed over to them as quickly as possible, scrutinizing them as if she didn't recognize them.
"Lin Tian, you... and Xuanxuan, how did you come out of Wangchuan River? Am I dreaming?" Zhang Lingyu asked in disbelief.
"Of course, it's not a dream. I'm lucky, not so easy to die," Lin Tian said happily. With the two women beside him safe and sound, of course, he was happy.
Zhang Lingyu's shock slowly turned into ecstatic joy, with excitement shining in her eyes. In her overwhelming emotion, she wanted to embrace Lin Tian but suddenly remembered Xiao Manxuan was next to him and stopped in her tracks.
But just as she halted, she was suddenly pulled into an embrace by a strong force, and when she looked up, she saw Lin Tian's mischievous smile.
Lin Tian's aura surrounded her completely, making her usually composed heart race uncontrollably, her pretty face turning rosy.
"Carefully feel if it's the Lin Tian you know," Lin Tian looked down at her with a smile.
Zhang Lingyu snapped back and quickly struggled, "You... let me go."
She finally broke free from Lin Tian's embrace, only to see Xiao Manxuan with a mischievous smile, making Zhang Lingyu's face even redder. She could only glare fiercely at the "culprit," Lin Tian, but for some reason, her heart felt a bit sweet.
"Sister Yu, you can't be biased. I want a hug too," Xiao Manxuan pouted and then stepped forward, opening her arms to hug Zhang Lingyu.
This time, of course, Zhang Lingyu didn't struggle, but seeing Lin Tian's sly expression next to her, she got angry again, thinking this rascal must have been deliberately taking advantage earlier.
Lin Tian laughed, "The three of us have been through so many trials and finally reunited. Come on, let's have a big hug together." Saying so, he opened his arms intending to hug both women at once.
Frightened, the two women quickly dodged aside and said in unison, "Who wants to be with you, shameless."
The words were spoken simultaneously, and as the two women looked at each other, their faces turned red once more.
Zhang Lingyu glanced at Lin Tian, then took Xiao Manxuan's hand and said, "Didn't you enter Wangchuan River? How did you get out? By the way, that red-clothed female ghost seemed to have jumped with you. Where is she now?"
"It's a long story. The Second Miss and I met the real Ferryman one after another. He took us out, and as for that female ghost..." Lin Tian briefly recounted the events, omitting parts he couldn't reveal.
"A hundred-year crossing, to have such a Ferryman is truly amazing," Zhang Lingyu marveled and thought aloud, "But the fierce devotion of that red-clothed female ghost surprised me. No wonder her mana is so strong; her heart is filled with too much obsession and resentment."
"That ghost sister is so pitiable; I really hope she can achieve great enlightenment after a thousand years and be free from the sea of suffering," Xiao Manxuan said pityingly.
"By the way, Lingyu, why are you looking for Ksitigarbha?" Lin Tian asked, recalling her earlier conversation with the middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man had been quietly standing by, neither interrupting nor chasing them away.
Zhang Lingyu glanced at the hall and said, "If there's anyone in the Netherworld who can save people from Wangchuan River, it's Ksitigarbha. Ksitigarbha has ferried countless wraiths and vengeful ghosts across, and only he can enter Wangchuan River and come out unscathed."
"And you went to find Ksitigarbha to save us, risking great danger to break into Fengdu City and Ksitigarbha Hall. Don't you know doing so could get you killed?" Lin Tian said with a deliberately stern face, genuinely worried about this impulsive girl.
"I know," Zhang Lingyu said softly, surprisingly not arguing back loudly because she saw urgency and concern in Lin Tian's eyes. It made her heart inexplicably sweet, as if all the risks were worth it.
"You know and still..." Lin Tian was frustrated, wanting to lecture her a bit more, but looking at her pitiful appearance, he changed his tone mid-sentence: "Alright, but not again. If you risk like this again, I'll have to spank you."
