At this point, Qi Yue had long since tossed Ming Ming's words to the back of his mind; his eyes were constantly roving over the white-collar beauty in front of him, primarily gravitating towards the most mysterious parts of a woman. Unnoticed by him, the white-clothed woman had already looked up and was taking him in. While she held Ming Ming's hand, her gaze was tranquil, yet occasionally a hint of cold light flashed across, intimidating like ice. Regrettably, Qi Yue was simply admiring the beauty and had not noticed whether the woman he was admiring was approachable or not.
"Ming Ming, haven't I told you to call me Sister Ru Yue? Try not to mention the word 'Dragon' too much when we are out," the cold voice sounded as if devoid of any emotion. Yet, the look the white-clothed beauty gave Ming Ming was extremely gentle. Though she was only five years older than Ming Ming, she seemed to be looking at her own child.
Sticking out her tongue, Ming Ming responded, "I know, Sister Ru Yue. I just can't remember, who would have thought you were a Dragon?"
The white-clothed beauty calmly said, "So he's the Kylin? The master already called me."
Ming Ming nodded. When she turned back and saw the pig-headed expression on Qi Yue's face, she could hardly resist the urge to slap him. This guy had completely forgotten her warning. Hurriedly, she released the white-clothed beauty's hand and quickly ran over to Qi Yue. While signaling him with her eyes, she said, "Yes! Sister Ru Yue, he is Kylin."
The white-clothed beauty nodded. "Well, you can bring him in then." After saying this, she glanced at Qi Yue calmly once more and then returned to the villa.
"Are you seeking death!" Ming Ming pinched Qi Yue hard.
"Ouch!" Qi Yue grimaced in pain. As the white-clothed beauty had already disappeared, he finally snapped back to reality, "Beautiful, truly astonishing. Such a fiery figure, I wonder what it feels like to hold her."
Rolling her eyes, Ming Ming retorted, "You might as well drop dead. You even dare to flirt with Sister Ru Yue; I bet death is not far off for you. Sister Ru Yue is indeed very beautiful, but her temper is as volatile as her figure. I can't be bothered with you, just pray for yourself."
"Wait!" Qi Yue rushed to grab hold of Ming Ming who was about to leave, and whispered: "Ming Ming, why didn't you tell me earlier that Dragon is a woman, and such a stunning one at that!"
Resignedly, Ming Ming said: "Anyway, you must be cautious. Sister Ru Yue is the CEO of a large company and is known for her stern facade. I once saw a man who wanted to pursue her. I don't know what Sister Ru Yue did, but that man ended up bedridden in the hospital for three months. After that, he shakes all over whenever he sees a woman. Think about it yourself. Sister Ru Yue's full name is Hai Ru Yue, and based on the Chinese zodiac, you can calculate her age. Let's go, Sister Ru Yue doesn't like to wait." She isn't truly angry with Qi Yue. From their brief interactions, she had figured out Qi Yue's character. Though he talks a mile a minute and has a wandering eye, he is the type who is all talk and no action. And he isn't all that bad.
They walked into the villa. As they entered, they were greeted by a vast hall. Two servants in white shirts and black trousers came over, handing them warm wet towels and taking Ming Ming's luggage. As Qi Yue wiped his face, he looked around. The interior of the hall was all white, surrounded by six huge white marble pillars, supporting the entire villa. The floor was made of milk-white marble, complemented by a white fireplace nearby, emanating a European charm. Right in front of the room was a statue of a dragon, a resplendent white dragon with five claws and sapphire-inlaid eyes.
One side of the hall was arranged with four three-seater sofas, forming a semi-circle. Hai Ru Yue was seated on one of them, a cup of crimson beverage in her hand. She was sipping it slowly, as though she was drinking blood. The red drink contrasted starkly with her white clothes, adding an exotic sophistication to her elegance. Qi Yue had never seen or even imagined a villa of such grandeur.
"Please, have a seat." Hai Ru Yue's voice was very melodious, but the underlying coldness gave away an aura of aloofness.
Qi Yue and Ming Ming sat down on one of the sofas next to Hai Ru Yue. Ming Ming said, "Sister Ru Yue, we just returned to the capital. The place for Qi Yue to stay is very run-down, so is it okay for him to live here with you?"
Hai Ruyue nodded, saying, "I've arranged everything, including the school you'll be attending. Mingming, if you wish, you can stay here too."
Ji Mingming chuckled and said, "No need, I haven't been home for a few years, I should go back and spend some time with my parents. But I'll visit often. Sister Ru Yue, I'll leave him in your care."
Hai Ruyue cast a glance at Qi Yue and said, "Qi Yue, male, nineteen years old, grew up in Jing Mountain Orphanage in the Capital City, left the orphanage at the age of fourteen to fend for himself. Dropped out of junior high school and began living on social relief funds, subsisting in the basement of a prestigious neighborhood. Mostly idle, considered part of the leisurely population, with a slight hint of an underworld nature. A month and a half ago, after assaulting the son of the city police chief, he fled to Tibet."
Qi Yue frowned slightly and asked, "Are you checking my background, Miss?"
Hai Ruyue's eyes flashed coldly, "I would prefer it if you not refer to me as 'miss'. Call me by my name, Hai Ruyue."
Qi Yue threw himself onto the couch obnoxiously, "If I'm not calling you miss, am I supposed to call you sir? I am not implying that you're that type of 'miss'! What are you getting so worked up about? It seems I am the actual King of Zodiac, right?" Despite Hai Ruyue's beauty, her icy demeanor annoyed Qi Yue. When first meeting Mingming, her attitude towards him was not particularly friendly either, but it was nothing compared to Hai Ruyue's intrinsic coldness.
Hai Ruyue calmly replied, "If you can defeat me in a fight, I'll recognize you as the King of Zodiac and submit to your orders. However, until then, you have no right to command me."
Seeing the tension mounting, Ji Mingming hastily interjected, "Sister Ru Yue, Qi Yue is actually a good person. He's new to our world and still needs time to adjust. Please be patient with him."
With a stern face, Hai Ruyue retorted, "I've never been one for compromise. Right is right, wrong is wrong. Mingming, weren't you heading home? I think it's time you left. We'll have a car ready to take you. Pass my regards to your parents as well. As for him, I have plans. Come the end of August, when school starts, you'll both attend together."
Sticking out her tongue, Ji Mingming stood up and said, feeling a bit sorry for Qi Yue, "Well, I guess it's time for me to go. Sister Ru Yue, I'll leave him in your hands."
Hai Ruyue gestured and a servant immediately assisted Mingming to the front door with her luggage. Qi Yue stood up to see Mingming off, before she left, she whispered to him, "You need to remember my words, don't ever provoke Sister Ru Yue. You'd only be asking for trouble. She will also teach you the Ascending Kylin technique. Her instruction is surely far superior to mine."
Qi Yue discretely pinched Mingming's waist and made a face, saying, "Visit me when you have time. Don't worry about me."
After Ji Mingming's departure, the atmosphere in the lobby turned even chillier. Hai Ruyue held something that resembled a remote control in her hand. With a few clicks, an elderly man dressed in traditional Chinese Tang suit appeared from upstairs after a minute. The green Tang suit suited him well. His snow-white hair suggested his age, but his face was rosy, with hardly any wrinkles. He stood tall, with sparkling eyes.
"Miss, you called for me?" The elderly man respectfully bowed to Hai Ruyue as he approached her.
Hai Ruyue stood up and her voice softened, "Uncle Zhou, Mr. Qi will be staying with us from now on. Please arrange a room for him, and find a training suit for him. Then take him to my training room."
"Yes, miss."
After giving her instructions, Hai Ruyue didn't spare Qi Yue another glance and ascended the stairs.
