Chapter 126: The Mecha Driod's Pressure
The target battleship's controllers noticed the nuisances, Soldier E and Soldier F. They detached that portion of the battle ship from the hull of the ship. The battleship had an automated repair that quickly fixed the gap, making the ship a fortified whole.
Hundreds of aliens took the sky hurtling towards Soldier E and F to end their nuisance. An aerial battle broke out. The possessed minions were too much for the soldiers sent after them. Ivan noticed a small turret on the harassed battleship abruptly shift towards Soldier E.
BANG! A powerful explosion and recoil shook the turret. Fortunately the round missed the target minion who flew away in time from the line of fire. The round hit an alien who was flying in its path, a perfectly inelastic collision interaction that made the round and the alien carcass crash onto the steadfast dome that enveloped Plysouth city.
"Hope your invisible shield is still up?" Ivan asked Raina.
"Yeah, it is."
"If my guess is correct. We would soon be discovered."
"What? But we are far away from the battle," Lupita said, alarmed over Ivan's words.
"Being far away from the battle doesn't meant that you are not in the battlefield," Raina said.
Ivan's soldiers were suddenly being suppressed. His soldiers could barely hold a battle. They were constantly being swarmed and under the constant assault from the overhead battleships.
"What the hell, they don't care about their soldiers, do they?" Lupita was surprised by the ruthless indiscriminate assault that the overhead battleships unleashed on the ground below.
Soldier G was breathtaking in battle. Ivan couldn't even believe what was happening. He wanted to believe that he was the one who had gotten better in controlling his minions but it wasn't him. The synth was tailored for battle and there were installed programmes to augment the battle moves.
Soldier G stepped back, distancing itself from its swarm of adversaries. It unleashed a canon round upon them, blowing a deeo crater in the ground.
BANG! A heavy explosion hit the synth from behind. Strangely, the force didn't knock the synth away. Instead, the synth's body definitely suffered the impact and then it was suspended inside a force field that formed after the explosion.
A force in the field, pulled the synth high before letting it crash with tremendous acceleration that was four times greater than the regular acceleration due to gravity.
Ivan had located the culprit for the heavy attack — one of the four automated mecha-droids. The droid stood in one place, its right arm canon aimed at the synth that struggled to get back to its feet. Above a battle ship adjusted a mega turret to aim at the position of the synth and the battle droid.
BOOM! A heavy recoil followed the ear-piercing explosion that released the round from the turret. An extensive 'umbrella' force shield formed above the automated droid and Ivan's minion synth. The heavy round exploded harmlessly atop the shield. The shockwaves weren't down to the air below the shield.
"Explain yourself. Who are you and what is your allegiance?" the mecha droid pressed Soldier G.
Ivan heard the message through the mental link. Unfortunately, he couldn't control the verbal aspect of the synth. The verbal unit was fried during Raina's lightning barrage attack at the Authority Place.
Ivan wanted to fly over and defend his possession. From what he saw during this battle, he realised that losing Soldier G would be a huge loss.
"Raina, stay sharp. I'm going over," Ivan said as he leapt high.
Wings manifested magestically from the black regal armour. He flew across the battlefield, dodging stray projectiles. He landed close to his battle synth.
"He works for us. I'm a legionary from the Goddess of Serenity," Ivan yelled.
"How does it work for us? Did it just decide to work for us out of its own free will? How do we know that it won't betray us? How do we know that this isn't an attempt to deceive the effort of the region' forces to repel the enemy?" The droid asked.
Ivan was temporarily dumbfounded. He was surprised that the droid could formulate really important questions.
"I have taken control of this vessel with my powers. It has no free will. I'm the one who is in control although it possesses some modifications that help to become a formidable fighter," Ivan said. "Lastly, this is definitely not a ploy to deceive or weaken the regional military's effort."
The battle-droid patiently listened to Ivan. There was a brief moment of no reaction from the droid. It seemed to be preoccupied calculating something. Ivan used his thoughts to desperately try to get the half-synth back to its feet.
"Cleared." The gigantuan mecha droid marched past the duo. The expansive shield folded into the droid's shoulder. The synth finally got to its feet.
