Chapter 16: But I will try, for if I am not yours, what am I?
Curiosity killed the cat
OR
Layton teaches his girl about sex. Badly. Awfully. Someone stop him!
title is from wife by mitski
alright, the idea here is a fem luke, lenore, being curious about sex and layton doing his very best to shield her from it, moreso than he would if she were a boy, because of his weird sexism shit. so she has an IDEA of what sex is by like 13 [ie, babies come from it, its for adults, etc], but not much more than that. especially since it's dubious at best if she even goes to school, not to mention if she did, she's barely there enough to make friends and whisper about sex and boys all that much, and sex education in the 60's would have been not thorough at all or non-existent
so we have a lenore curious and unknowledgeable about sex, and layton trying to shield her from knowing anything because he needs to protect her [and he has weird sexism]. this leads to one night lenore coming to his room after he's already tucked her in. she crawls up onto his bed and sits legs crossed, very serious. she asks him the burning question that's been on her mind for a while now.
trigger warnings for Explicit underage sex, intentionally bad sex education on the authour's part, suicidal thoughts, and lots of weirdness about women and lenore specifically on laytons part
