NOVEL NEXT Chapter 7: A New Beginning
The carriage was nearing its destination
Monarch of Life: I see what an interesting story. So are you going to head back home?
Zaneff: I..don't know.
Shiebe: I wouldn't if I were you. Judging from the way you explained your mother is too fond of you and was trying to get rid of you. Going back home would cause a lot of trouble...but that's just me...It's up to you to make that choice.
Zaneff nodded her head in silence.
Monarch of Life: You guys can call me Eros. The Monarch Of Life is just a title after all.
Shiebe: Hey can I ask you a question.
Eros: Go ahead.
Shiebe: Why were you glaring at me and trying to touch me back there?
Eros leaned back on his seat and looked out the window letting out a sigh.
Eros: If I'm being honest I don't know either. It felt like I was in some sort of tranc-
*THUD*
The carriage came to a sudden stop.
Eros: What's going on!
However there was no reply. No noise could be heard from outside.
Eros: You two stay here I'll check what's going on.
Eros stepped out of the carriage and as ordered the two of them stayed in the carriage. Of course none of them were worried after all a member of the council of hope was with them.
A few minutes had passed, Nothing. No noise from the outside and Eros was still out there. Shiebe was getting cautious.
About 20 minutes later, Eros had left the carriage and he still hadn't come back. If there was a fight they at least would have been able to hear it but there wasn't any noise coming from outside. It wasn't like the carriage was sound proof as Shiebe was able to hear the fierce winds from earlier on.
-What's going on?-
Zaneff: Did something happen to Eros...
Shiebe: I doubt it. There's no way anyone could harm him.
-Unless if a leading officer from the council of despair were present but that was unlikely. Still what should we do. Going outside isn't safe as we don't know what's going on but staying inside isn't helping either. Plus the sound issue.-
*Tap, Tap, Tap*
Zaneff: Footsteps?
Shiebe: Why are we able to hear sound now?
-Is it because they are near the carriage.-
The footsteps got closer.
Zaneff: Shiebe..that's not Eros.
Shiebe: I had a feeling it wasn't. Something about it just wasn't right.
As the footsteps got closer Shiebe got ready to attack.
Shiebe: Zaneff do you have a syreum.
Zaneff: Y-yes.
Shiebe: Is it suitable for combat.
Zaneff: Yes
Shiebe: Then get ready.
The footsteps stopped. For a moment there was silence. The only thing that could be heard was the heavy breathing of the two of them. Shiebe's heart beat was going insane. He was nervous about what was to come.
*SLASH*
In an instant the top of the carriage was removed. Wasting no time Shiebe blasted the door opened
*BOOM*
The impact had caused the carriage to flip over allowing Shiebe and Zaneff to escape from there. The opponent was on the other side with only a carriage separating them. They were on a cliff with only water being down below so there was a limit on space. In the far distance the city could be seen.
Shiebe: We should make a run for it. It's our only choice if it sees us or catches up to us then we fight.
Zaneff grabbed Shiebe's hand which threw him off guard as it was usually the opposite.
Zaneff: I'm confident that my syreum ability will help us out of here so just hold my hand tightly.
Shiebe nodded.
Zaneff touched the ground and slowly a bridge hovering over the ground emerged. Zaneff and Shiebe ran on the bridge now having a view on the other side of their opponent but there was no one there.
Zaneff: ?!
In front of them stood a beast. Standing at over 6ft it set its eyes at the kids.
*ROAR*
Letting out an ear shattering screech the beast charged at them.
Shiebe pulled Zaneff behind him and touched the floor of the bridge
Shiebe: Here goes nothing.
Pouring energy into his hand he lifted the palm of his hand whilst keeping his fingers on the ground. A small ball manifested from his palm then he slammed the down on the concrete floor of the bridge sending a barrage of flying concrete towards the beast and destroying a path between it and them.
To Shiebe's surprise Zaneff then put her hand out towards the beast who had seemed pretty hurt by Shiebe's attack
Slowly, spheres of fire and icicles emerged from her hand.
Zaneff: Begone
They flew like bullets. However the beast started to block the attacks with his claws.
Sadly for the beast it was not dealing with mere children. It looked up to the sky to see a boy with glowing red and purple eyes, Crimson red hair and a cocky smile on its face.
Shiebe: Forgot about me didn't ya.
Being right above its head, Shiebe charged up a beam of energy and blasted it down towards the beast.
*BOOM*
Shiebe landed where the beast once was but with the destruction that he had caused the bridge was no longer stable causing him and Zaneff to fall.
Then a man with black hair, white clothing and golden jewelry grabbed the two of them and landed safely on the ground.
Eros: Amazing, So that's what you guys are capable of doing.
Shiebe: Eros! Where the hell were you
Eros: Look behind you.
Shiebe looked behind to find himself in a confusing area.
Shiebe: Is...this the city..but why are we here.
Zaneff also looked confused
Eros: I am Eros the Monarch Of Life. With my power I can bring anybody I have fought in the past back to life. You just witnessed my power and you guys did pretty well you should be proud.
