Chapter 65: TST [65]
'It really existed!'
Morgan lit up with joy. If she redeemed that Talent, she'd be able to see the Duel Spirits. In her past life, the anime even showed people touching them. If that held true in this world, she might actually be able to pilot a Gundam.
'System, how many Duel Points to redeem Spirit Sight?'
[Spirit Sight: 50,000 Duel Points]
Morgan froze.
She rubbed her eyes and checked again. Confirming she hadn't misread it, she screamed internally:
'System, are you kidding me?! Fifty thousand points?! Are you robbing me?!'
For Morgan, right now, 50,000 Duel Points was astronomical. Beating Dorian from the Saint King Club only earned her 500.
That meant she'd have to defeat 100 duelists like him.
Where was she going to find that many?
Virtual duels?
That said, at her current rank, matching opponents in the simulator could take all day. Earning enough points that way would take years.
So far, her biggest payday had been from defeating Alban—the fallen Shadow Duelist.
Shadow Duelists were really worth it… If she could find a dozen more and duel them, she might scrape together enough points.
Morgan was practically drooling at the thought.
Meanwhile, Viviana watched Morgan space out after a burst of excitement. She assumed the story about the mech Duel Spirit had scared her.
What she didn't realize was that Morgan was busy mentally strategizing how to hunt down Shadow Duelists.
Then voices echoed from the distance—a group of club recruiters, still searching after failing to catch her at the main gate.
Snapping out of it, Morgan let go of Viviana's shoulder and smiled.
"Thanks for telling me, Viviana. I've got to run!"
"Wait—!"
Before she could say anything more, Morgan had already flung open the emergency exit and vanished into the dim hallway.
Moments later, the frantic recruiters rushed over. Seeing Viviana, they immediately swarmed her with questions:
"Miss Viviana? What are you doing here?!"
"Have you seen Morgan? This is the only area left unchecked!"
"Do you have her contact info? Do you know her at all?"
"Please tell her our club is offering top dollar!"
Viviana found herself surrounded and breathless. Only now did she truly understand why Morgan had slipped away.
...
'System, is there a way to locate Shadow Duelists?'
Morgan had left the venue and was now strolling through the city streets. She had taken a week off from school for the tournament and could now focus on earning Duel Points.
After defeating Alban, she hadn't seen any more Shadow Duelists. That curvy older woman hadn't shown up either.
If they wouldn't come to her, she'd go to them.

[Search complete! Talent matched: Dragon Signer LV1.]
'Dragon Signer?'
Morgan blinked. She knew this Talent, too. It granted access to the power of the Crimson Dragon.
In her system, it had a slightly different function—when near a Duelist with a special power, the mark would glow.
And Shadow Duelists definitely counted.
So now she was like a radar. If one was nearby, the mark would react—Not a perfect solution, but better than nothing. Most importantly, it only costs a few thousand Duel Points. She could afford it.
"System, redeem Dragon Signer Talent!"
[Ding!]
[Congratulations. Talent acquired: Dragon Signer.]
Immediately, Morgan felt a sharp sting on her arm.
A mark began to appear—a dragon head emblem, as if burned into her skin. The mark of a Dragon Signer.
As it formed, Morgan felt a strange awareness. She could sense faint energies nearby, though the range was only about ten meters.
Likely because the Talent was still Level 1, and only one Dragon Mark had appeared.
According to the system, each level-up would unlock a new Mark. Once she collected all of them, the Talent's true effect would awaken.
And she already knew what that was—Card manifestation. Back then, Yusei used this ability to materialize cards and defeat the Time Lords.
Grinning, Morgan pulled her sleeve down to cover the mark.
Then she stepped into a Duel Center.
Until a Shadow Duelist showed up, she might as well earn some extra cash.
