Yu-Gi-Oh!: Transformed into a Girl, Starting with Trickstar

Chapter 38: TST [38]

Could it be that the [Skill Drain] she drew was fated for this very moment?

Morgan was speechless.

…Looked like she was destined to become a total degenerate today.

After all, outside of the three Golden Lords and their archetypal Spell and Trap Cards, most Eldlich decks ran utility techs like [Imperial Order], [Vanity's Emptiness], and similar cards...

In this world, the most expensive cards were Monster Cards, followed by Spell Cards. Trap Cards were the cheapest.

Which meant she could redeem the core Eldlich cards through the system, and then buy the generic techs from a card shop—forming a relatively cheap but high-performing deck.

Still, it was a bit ironic. It was the Eldlich deck that indirectly led to her transmigration into this world.

To be honest, she felt a little resistant.

Despite that, the resistance lasted only one second. She immediately redeemed the Eldlich archetypal cards from the system.

'I mean, I already play Trickstars… what's there to fear from Eldlich?'

The next moment, a thick stack of cards appeared in her pocket.

Morgan smiled. Anyhow, having learned her lesson from last time's elaborate lie, she needed a solid excuse for where this new deck came from.

She couldn't keep blaming everything on the mysterious Duel King.

Her eyes flickered as she thought. Coming to the Duel Amusement Park today was the perfect opportunity, since she was already here to buy cards anyway.

So she temporarily ditched the clingy Jade and Isla, sending them to the mall lobby to watch the Spirit Duelist while she went to a flashy card store.

Her plan was to buy a large batch of cards and mix the Eldlich core into them, pretending it was all from her new purchase.

It was a pretty common thing to do, so even if she told someone, no one would question it.

"Welcome!"

The transparent automatic doors slid open, and a smiling clerk greeted her, subtly sizing her up.

"What kind of cards are you looking for, miss?"

Morgan glanced around and saw lots of familiar cards displayed in the showcases, most of them flashy Dragon-type cards.

She turned back to the clerk and said flatly, "I want to see Zombie cards and some generic Trap Cards."

Upon hearing her request, the clerk visibly deflated. She'd been right… Just another broke kid.

After all, customers with real budgets wouldn't even consider Zombies, a fringe archetype.

Worse, for some reason, corporate insisted on running a discount promo.

Sure, it was great for bringing in traffic, but with the Junior Division of the Duelist League hosting showcase matches nearby, most of the foot traffic was kids just browsing—no one was buying.

She hadn't sold a single deck all morning.

And the thought that the showcase would last another full week gave her a headache. There went this month's commission.

Still, clinging to her customer service training, she dutifully fetched the Zombie cards and some Traps from storage.

But to her surprise, Morgan only glanced briefly before nodding and saying:

"These will do. I'll take them all."

"Alright, if you're done looking, then hurry and—wait, what did you just say?"

The clerk had just started to put the cards away but froze mid-motion, staring at Morgan in disbelief.

Had she misheard? These cards might be niche, but there were a lot of them. Buying them all would still cost a hefty sum.

Morgan gave her a curious look and repeated, "I said I'll take them all. Please pack them up."

With that, she pulled two cards from her pocket—the ones Jade and Isla had slipped her before they left the KTV, telling her to use them however she liked.

"Let me see, which one should I use..."

As Morgan pondered which card to use for payment, the clerk's eyes widened.

She immediately recognized the two cards.

One was black with gold lettering—an exclusive VIP card from the Blackstone Club, and also a premium member ID for their store.

The other, a white card, shocked her even more. It belonged to the Bai Group—aka their actual corporate owners.

Owning either card was impressive enough… This girl had both. Who was she?

The clerk cursed her own poor judgment. Had she known, she would've tried upselling her on top-tier cards. She'd really blown it this time.

Morgan casually handed over the white card.

"This one."

Her indifferent attitude left the clerk a bit speechless. Still, she didn't dare say anything more. She swiftly packed up the cards and even included a sleek black leather backpack as a free gift.

Morgan then went to a public bench outside and pulled out the Eldlich core. After a bit of sorting, she effortlessly assembled the full Eldlich deck.

After all, it was the very first deck she played when starting out. She knew it like the back of her hand.

Anyhow, that also meant she had officially burned through the last of her Duel Points.

Time to grind some more.

Morgan stood up, deck in hand.

That's when she noticed a nearby billboard:

"Junior Division Duelist League: Showcase Match Now Open!"
