yu-gi-oh: I have a stand deck?!

As we were all chomping down on our burgers I notice a tense shift in the room as we hear the announcement of Joey versus yugi, " both contestants will begin their duel in one hour! Prepare your deck in the meantime while the technician's fix the arena due to the duel of Jonah and Kaiba!!" Walter says as I finish my burger.

"Yeah sorry about that Walter." I say to the kind butler as he just smiles and says it's fine, "in actuality you gave us the right opportunity to update the arena software." Walter says before walking away to check on the technicians, leaving only Rosaria, Pegasus and myself alone at the table.

"Well while I do enjoy socializing with you Jonah boy, I do believe you should help Joey boy with his confidence." Pegasus said before standing up and walking through the main door, Rosaria just nodded her head before saying she's going to hang out with Tea and Mai for the time being.

"Guess I'm going to give Joey a man to man pep talk, now to figure out where look for him." I say as I head out and begin my search for Joey.

As I walked around the castle I see the maids and butlers working on the halls of the castle whether it be vacuuming or dusting, they worked like a well oiled machine, it was honestly impressive.

As turned the corner I see Tristan looking around as if he was looking for someone until he locks eyes with me, "hey Jonah! Have you seen Joey anywhere?" He asks as I shake my head no, "I was going to give him a pep talk myself, should we look for him together?" I offer as he nods his head and we begin our manhunt for Joey.

"Where did you check so far?" I ask as we make our way to the main foyer and see a maid mopping the floor, "excuse me miss!! Did you happen to see a teen with blond hair pass by here?!" I ask the maid who says no but thanked us for not stepping where she was cleaning.

"Wait Tristan! Have you tried his room?" I ask as I see him freeze up before sweating, "uh…well the thing is… I didn't think to check there." He admits as I facepalm, he didn't even think to check his room?!

After a minute to calm down we both went back to his room and we see Joey looking kinda troubled, he was looking through his deck as if struggling to come to terms with himself.

He was so distracted he didn't even notice me coming up from behind him, "you good Joey?" I ask him and he jumps ,"Jonah! Don't startle me like dat!" He said going full Brooklyn accent.

"Cmon Joey, something is bothering you, so tell us." I ask him as he looks around and sees Tristan by the door, "so what's bothering you Joey?" I ask him again and after a few seconds he sighs and looks at me.

"Okay I'll tell you, I want to win against yugi in hopes of earning the money for serenity's treatment, but I feel like if I do win I'd ruin my friendship with yug." He explains to us both, Tristan understanding where Joey was coming from filled me in on Joey as a person.

"Joey doesn't want to feel indebted to a person if they do something for him, so when you said you would cover his sister's treatment, while he was happy he doesn't want to be indebted." Tristan explains as baccarati manifests next to me.

"I have a suggestion you can give your friend Jonah." Baccarati offers and giving him a subtle nod he explains an idea to help Joey out, and after I hear it I couldn't help but smile a bit.

"Okay Joey I can see you're a guy who wants to earn the money on your own, so how about this? When the three of us go out to hang, you take us out for lunch and you cover, I give serenity her treatment and you don't feel indebted, does that work?" I suggest as I see Joey actually thinking over my suggestion.

"…awright I'll take us out for lunch sometime, and it'll be on me!!" Joey says clenching his fist and I decide to give him the pep talk he needs.

"Joey, just remember no matter what you and Yugi are friends and a duel won't ruin your friendship, so don't hold back against your friend, he deserves that much respect, now we'll leave you to prepare yourself." I say to Joey and I can see him looking much better.

And as I walk down the hall I notice yami yugi looking at me.

"You did a good thing Jonah, I feel Joey will battle with his head held high." He began as I just nod, "now Joey can duel with his head held high." He said as he walked past me and into his room.

But I can't help but wonder how big of a butterfly effect am I giving the world?

Well folks I had a wonderful break enjoying Christmas with my family, and got a new iPad, so now I can see where my fingers are typing.

But I decided to give a short chapter so you all know I'm not dead.
