Yu-gi-oh! Duelist Showdown!

Previously on Yu-gi-oh! Duelist Showdown! One of the people watching the fight said, "To your left is Sarah Simple. She specializes in weak cards." Joseph said, "Hey, Sarah. Want to take me on?" Joseph and Sarah tossed their coins on the ground and got ready to duel. Then, they put their decks in their duel disks and drew their first five cards. Then their Life Points started at 4000. Sarah said, "I'll lay another card face down and sacrifice my Gyaku-Gire Panda to summon The Millennium Shield-0/3000 in defense mode. But wait, I reveal my face-down card, Monster Reborn. This card will bring back Gyaku-Gire Panda, and I'll play him in Attack Mode. That ends my turn." Joseph said, "I now reveal The Warrior Returning Alive, so I get a warrior back from my graveyard. I'll summon Felix, the Queen's Guard (1300/1000), in Attack Mode. And I'll also switch Sam, The Queen's Guard's Horse (1100/1200), into Attack Mode. And finally, I reveal Monster Reborn to bring back your Gyaku-Gire Panda (800/1600) in Attack Mode. Monsters Attack!" Then Sarah's Life Points dropped to 800. Sarah got up and drew Man-Eater Bug from her deck and said, "I'll place one monster face down in defense mode. And I'll lay one other card face down. I end my turn." Sarah thought, "Let's see if he'll fall for my trap."

Sarah was struggling in the duel. The score was Sarah's 800 and Joseph's 4000, and it was Joseph's turn. Joseph drew Mountain Lion Attack Pack from his deck and said, "Sam, The Queen's Guard's Horse, attack her defense card." Sarah said, "Does this card look familiar?" Sarah flipped over the Man-Eater Bug, and Joseph was shocked. Joseph said, "The Man-Eater Bug!" Sarah said, "And only your monster will get destroyed because I reveal my trap, Castle Walls. This trap will raise Man-Eater's Bug's defense power by 500." Then Man-Eater Bug destroyed Sam, The Queen's Guard's Horse. Joseph said, "With its flip effect gone, my Queen's Guard should be able to squash your Man-Eater Bug. Attack!" Then Felix, The Queen's Guard, destroyed Man-Eater Bug, and Gyaku-Gire Panda's power decreased to 800. Joseph said, "You only have 800 Life Points left. And that's what I have left. Gyaku-Gire Panda, attack her Life Points and finish this duel." Sarah said, "I reveal Draining Shield. This card will absorb your attack and give me Life Points equal to your monster's attack." Then Gyaku-Gire Panda's attack got canceled, and Sarah got 800 more Life Points, bringing her up to 1600. Joseph said, "Ok, I'll end my turn." Sarah drew Sangan from her deck and said, "I play Sangan (1000/600) in Attack Mode." Then, Gyaku-Gire Panda's power rose from 800 to 1300. Sarah said, "Now I reveal my trap, Reinforcements. This trap will raise Sangan's power by 500 points for the turn." Then Sangan's power rose from 1000 to 1500. Sarah said, "Sangan, destroy Felix!" Then Sangan destroyed Felix, The Queen's Guard, and Joseph lost 200 Life Points, bringing him down to 3800. Sarah said, "I end my turn."

Joseph drew Queen's Pet Cat from his deck and said, "Maybe I can beat you at your own game. With Queen's Pet Cat (800/750) in Attack Mode. But I'll hold her for now. Gyaku-Gire Panda scratch out Sangan. Then Gyaku-Gire Panda destroyed Sangan, and Sarah lost 300 Life Points, bringing her down to 1300. Sarah said, "By destroying Sangan, you activated his special ability. Now, I can summon another monster and reshuffle the deck. And I think I'll summon Injection Fairy Lily (400/1500) in Attack Mode." Then Sarah reshuffled her deck and put it back in her duel disk. Sarah said, "Let's see if I can take control of this duel." Sarah drew Thunder Crash from her deck and said, "I play Thunder Crash to destroy Injection Fairy Lily." Then Thunder Crash destroyed Injection Fairy Lily. Sarah said, "Now you lose 300 Life Points." Then Joseph lost 300 Life Points, bringing him down to 3500. Sarah said, "I'll finish my turn with a face-down defense card. Joseph drew Megan the Wizard from his deck and said, "I'll sacrifice both my monsters to summon Megan the Wizard (2300/2700) in Attack Mode. And I'll play Wizard's Cottage to increase her power each turn. Now attack her defense monster!" Megan the Wizard destroyed Sarah's Winged Kuriboh (300/200). Joseph said, "Ok, I'll end my turn." Frank said, "This is almost like her last duel. Her opponent has higher Life Points and is in the 3000s; hers are down in the 1000s. But she defeated Jetta like that, so maybe she can defeat Joseph too." Nick said, "With those cards, she keeps buying more time. But I wonder how long she can keep it up before Joseph strikes her."

Sarah drew Megamorph from her deck, and Megan the Wizard's power raised from 2300/2700 to 2400/2800. Sarah said, "I lay 1 card face down and play my last card face down in defense mode." Joseph thought, "Hmm. She has no cards in her hand right now, but she'll draw another next turn. So, her face-down card is probably a trap that will increase her Life Points. And her defense card probably has a strong defense. Guess I'll have to risk playing." Joseph drew Megan, The Talking Horse, from his deck, and Megan the Wizard's power rose from 2400/2800 to 2500/2900. Joseph said, "Megan, attack and destroy her defense card." Then Megan destroyed Sarah's Morphing Jar. Sarah said, "Thank you." Joseph said, "Why are you thanking me for destroying your monster?" Sarah said, "The card you attacked was a Morphing Jar. When it gets destroyed, all cards in both players' hands go to the graveyard, and then they get to draw five more cards. But since I don't have any cards to send, I guess I get to draw five new cards."

Joseph sent his entire hand to the graveyard and drew five new cards. Joseph drew Musketeer's Boat, Security Cameras, Red-Eyes Forest Coyote Pack, Break Out, and Polymerization. Sarah drew Jam Breeding Machine, Dark-Eyes Illusionist, Swordsman of Landstar, Graceful Dice, and Premature Burial. Joseph said, "It's still my turn, and I have a new hand. I play Security Cameras. This card allows me to see your dueling hand for the rest of the duel." The cards in Sarah's hand then glowed and appeared above her head so Joseph could see them. Joseph said, "Now, nothing you play will surprise me. I'll play a monster face down in defense mode and end my turn." Sarah drew her card, and Joseph saw it was Marshmallon Glasses. Then Megan the Wizard's Power increased from 2500/2900 to 2600/3000. Sarah said, "I summon Swordsman of Landstar (500/1200) in Attack Mode. And now I'll play Graceful Dice to increase his power." Sarah rolled the die, and it landed on a 1. Sarah said, "What? A 1. That doesn't increase his power at all." Joseph said, "Too bad." Sarah said, "I still have this. Premature Burial. I'll use it to return my Gyaku-Gire Panda to the field in exchange for 800 life points." Then Gyaku-Gire Panda (800/1600) appeared on the field, and its power increased to 1800 while Sarah lost 800 Life Points, bringing her down to 500. Sarah said, "Now I'll reveal my face-down card, Megamorph. Since my Life Points are lower than yours, my panda's power doubles." Then Gyaku-Gire Panda's power increased to 3600. Sarah said, "Gyaku-Gire Panda, attack Megan the Wizard." Then Gyaku-Gire Panda destroyed Megan the Wizard, and Joseph lost 1000 Life Points, bringing him down to 2500. Then Gyaku-Gire Panda lost 500 points, bringing it down to 3100. Frank said, "Joseph's going to have to pull a winner out of his hat to come back from this." 

Joseph drew Musketeer Attack from his deck and said, "I summon Red-Eyes Forest Coyote Pack (1500/1200) in Attack Mode." Then Gyaku-Gire Panda's power increased to 3600. Joseph said, "Sure, I can't destroy your panda with it, but I can destroy your Swordsman. Red-Eyes Forest Coyote Pack attack!" Then Joseph's Coyotes destroyed Sarah's Swordsman of Landstar, and Sarah lost 1000 Life Points, bringing her down to 0. Nick said, "Yes, Joseph, you won." After the duel ended, Joseph picked up all five coins they wagered, giving him seven and leaving Sarah with three. Joseph said, "That was fun, but let's go to bed now and see what other duelists made it to the next round tomorrow." Frank said, "Can't wait." Nick said, "Me either."
