You’re Supposed To Be The Villain, But You Effortlessly Win Over The Female Leads?

Chapter 57:

Chapter 57:

The director team quickly realized that, based on how things were unfolding, Jiang Feng might just become the biggest star of their show!

Moreover, there was undeniable chemistry between Jiang Feng and Bai Qingqing. Even the staff couldn’t help but notice the potential for a romantic pairing between the two.

Given this, it wouldn’t be wise to edit Jiang Feng in a negative light.

“Director,” one of the staff members said, “I don’t think we need to stick to our original plan. We had planned to present Xiao Feng in a more negative way because we thought his personality was too difficult, but it’s clear now that he’s… not as bad as we thought.”

The director nodded thoughtfully. “Yeah, it’s too late to make changes to the first episode now, but we should definitely talk to him.”

Jiang Feng, who had been nearby, overheard their conversation. “Director, what is it you want to discuss with me?”

In truth, Jiang Feng had a good idea of what this was about. Initially, the show had edited his character to be somewhat of a villain, a negative example. But now, after the good interactions with Bai Qingqing and Jiang Nan’s personality flaws becoming more apparent, the production team likely had a change of heart.

For Jiang Feng, this shift was a positive development.

Sure enough, when Jiang Feng followed Li Rou into the director’s office, the head director waved him over. “Come, take a seat.”

“Alright,” Jiang Feng responded, sitting down.

“We called you in to discuss the upcoming broadcast of the first episode,” said Chief Director Liu Min, who seemed to have warmed up to Jiang Feng. His tone was gentle, almost friendly. “Your performance in that episode… wasn’t great. You’re aware of that, right?”

“Yeah, so what?” Jiang Feng replied casually.

“Well,” the director continued, “the first episode will air in about a week. It’ll be broadcast on TV as well as online platforms like Mango and Pain News. We’ll be organizing a viewing party for you and the others to watch it together.”

“Oh, okay.”

“Your portrayal in that episode isn’t ideal,” the director explained. “So, we wanted to let you know in advance. If you see people criticizing you, try not to take it too personally. I’m confident that in the next few episodes, people will warm up to you.”

The team, worried that Jiang Feng might take the criticism to heart, added, “Even if your first impression wasn’t great, once viewers see how well you perform later on, they won’t continue to criticize you. This is what we call building up to something better—it’s all part of the story. So don’t get too hung up on it.”

Jiang Feng leaned back, unconcerned. “I’m not too worried about whether they like me or not,” he said lazily. “I’m not a hundred-dollar bill—how could everyone like me? Back in school, everyone liked Jiang Nan more anyway. I’m used to it.”

His messy hair stuck up at odd angles, and he wore a pair of plastic slippers. He looked completely unbothered.

Liu Min let out a sigh of relief. “I’m glad you’re taking it well. Don’t worry, I promise you, this will only be temporary.”

“Alright, I trust you.” Jiang Feng replied.

After the meeting, the program team couldn’t help but see Jiang Feng in a more positive light.

Who said this kid was hard to work with? He was charming in his own way!

What a great attitude!
