The rule for professional League of Legends competitions is that twelve teams will be divided into two groups, six teams in each group. The competition is divided into three phases:
The first phase is round robin within each group.
The second phase is round robin between the two groups.
The third phase is round robin within each group again-- --
After the three phases, the team that won a best of 3 match gets one point and gets no points if they lost. All the teams will be ranked by their accumulated points. The top four teams from each group will be able to move on to the playoffs.
As of now, ZGDX had reached the end of the second phase in this years summer competition.
On Thursday, ZGDX would be against the second to the last team from B group, Team Alpha-- --There should be another cross-group match against Team CK on Sunday, but the organizer had moved this particular match to the beginning of the tournament for promotional purposes. Therefore, for ZGDX, there was no game this coming Sunday.
They would finish two thirds of the competition ahead of other teams in the A group.
Before the playoffs, they wouldnt have a chance to face off against the strong Team CK.
