Overview
The Blind River is a subterranean waterway threading through one of Hemera's largest cave systems. Its route is erratic, vanishing into rock and re-emerging in vast caverns where no light reaches. The water runs black and glass-smooth, though the current beneath is violent, tugging at anything that dares step inside. Explorers say being caught in it feels less like drowning and more like being dragged by unseen hands.

The Water
The water is drinkable, but long exposure comes with strange effects. People who rely on it for weeks report dimmed vision, colors fading to washed-out tones. In extreme cases, cataracts form unnaturally fast. Some miners claim it "teaches" the body to stop leaning on sight, sharpening hearing and touch instead, though this is unproven.

The Creatures

Blindfish: Small, pale, eyeless fish with teeth too large for their mouths. They lunge at vibrations in the water.

Stone Eels: Jet-black eels that squeeze through cracks smaller than a fist. They are aggressive and will coil around prey, dragging it under.
