XIAO YAN - Master of Fate

Chapter 2: Traces of the Past

Xiao Yan's journey to the ancient temple, located deep within the mountains, was filled with unbearable tension. Each step he took felt increasingly fraught, for he knew something extremely dangerous was beginning to unfold. The temple, though it appeared to be nothing more than a forgotten ruin, held secrets far greater than anyone could have ever anticipated.

As Xiao Yan entered the large temple gates, he felt a distinct aura. A powerful and mysterious presence filled the air, and though the place was silent, it seemed as though some force was watching his every movement. Step by step, he descended the dusty stone stairs into the deeper underground chambers.

Inside the underground space, Xiao Yan discovered a hidden room, and on a black stone altar, lay an ancient scroll. The scroll was covered in strange inscriptions that glowed faintly, as if emanating an incredibly powerful energy.

Carefully, Xiao Yan unrolled the scroll, reading each word with precision. The writing revealed the origins of the Flame King power he had controlled all this time. It turned out that the legendary flame he had mastered was not just an ordinary technique, but part of a much larger key—a power that connected him to the Realm of the Abyss, a darker dimension filled with terrifyingly powerful creatures. This fire, originating from an ancient source, had the potential to open a gateway to that dimension, long hidden from the world.

"No... this can't be true," Xiao Yan murmured. The Flame King power turned out to have far greater consequences than he had ever imagined. This energy source did not only come from this world but from another dimension full of even greater threats. This explained why the power he wielded seemed increasingly uncontrollable.

However, the text also contained a warning. "Anyone who masters the Flame King power will attract the attention of creatures from the Realm of the Abyss. Those who delve too deep will open the gate, and this world will face destruction."

Xiao Yan froze, realizing the immense consequences of the actions he was about to take. With this newfound knowledge, he understood that the path ahead would be fraught with far greater risks—perhaps much greater than he had ever envisioned.
