Wrong Luggage, Perfect Curves

Chapter 4: The Hund and the Camouflage

Min-jae couldn't comprehend what had happened. Yesterday, she was the star of the evening, and today, he couldn't find her anywhere. Claire had simply vanished. It seemed like she had intentionally erased every trace that could lead him to her. He, a successful entrepreneur who had always been able to solve every problem, now found himself up against a mystery he couldn't unravel.

"What is her game?" he wondered aloud, sipping the last of his tea while staring at his phone, having failed to contact her. "Why would she do this? Does she really think I'll just ignore her?"

He began his search. Today, instead of staying at the office, he dropped all his obligations and set off on a mission. His first logical question was: "Who is she, really?"

He spent hours online, trying to learn more about Claire. But all he could find was one thing: her social media profile was nearly empty, and it was nearly impossible to find any concrete information about her. There was no bio, no details about her life. Was this her strategy—to completely disappear in a world where everyone is connected? Min-jae was on the verge of losing his mind.

"She has to be someone, right?" he said to himself, still scanning the internet for any clue. "Who could be so mysterious?"

He continued the search. He went to the café where he last saw Claire. No sign of her. He asked the waiter, but no one seemed to care about his request. The waiter just shrugged. "It's been four, maybe five days."

"Yeah, but did anyone ask about her? Any details?" Min-jae pressed.

The waiter looked at him as if he were speaking to someone who had already lost their mind. "Sir, I'll be honest. No one here noticed she was ever here. She came in, had coffee, and left. That's all."

Min-jae was more confused than ever. This woman was more mysterious than he had imagined. "She's not just any woman," he thought. "She's witty, enigmatic, and now I need to figure it all out. Why did she do this to me?"

He didn't stop. The search continued. He visited several other places where Claire could have gone, but everywhere he turned up the same result: no one had a clue who she was, or at least no one wanted to tell him. How had she managed to disappear so completely? He tried following her through the streets, but nothing. She seemed perfectly unrecognizable. At that point, he was frustrated, but then an idea hit him.

"Maybe she's trying to hide," he thought.

On the other side of the city, Claire wasn't just moving on after leaving Min-jae—she was learning more about him than she had expected. After leaving, she spent a few days in Korea doing some research. It wasn't long before she found out something extraordinary—Min-jae wasn't just some guy with luxury things and the typical rich guy look. He was the owner of one of the most famous companies in Korea. This was the information that gave her a new perspective on him—and ignited her desire to get back at him.

For her, this was perfect. The anniversary celebration of his company was the ideal opportunity. She planned to return, but in a way he would never forget. His confident attitude, his worldview—it was all too much for her to just forgive. And now, when she found out the celebration was coming up, she knew she had to seize the moment.

Claire didn't want to just show up at the celebration—she planned to be the star of the evening, but not in the way Min-jae would expect. The decision was clear: she would show up in the most provocative outfit Korean eyes could see. Given how Min-jae had seen her before, she felt that she was the one who needed to take control of the situation. It was clear—she would arrive and demand attention, but not in the way he'd expect.

The day of the celebration arrived, and the atmosphere was electric. Min-jae stood on stage, in his best suit, speaking about the big plans and success of his company. Everyone was watching him with admiration, everyone wanted to be in his world, everyone wanted to be part of his successful story. But Min-jae couldn't focus. His mind kept drifting back to thoughts of Claire. He knew she wasn't just an ordinary tourist, that she was something more than just any other girl. Yes, he realized that she was much more—and all of it made him think about her constantly.

And then, just as he thought nothing could surprise him anymore, she walked in.

Claire walked toward the stage with purpose, her stride determined, her look—unbelievably provocative. She wore a black lace top that barely covered her curves. Her red leather mini skirt left little to the imagination. It was the perfect look for the evening. All eyes in the room were on her, while the paparazzi quickly raised their cameras. Min-jae was paralyzed.

His heart skipped a beat when he saw her approach. He couldn't believe she had done this—she was actually here, and like this. As he watched her steps, all he could feel was surprise. His thoughts were clouded, and his brain refused to process what was happening. He couldn't recover from the first glance at her.

And then Claire was there, on stage, taking the microphone and addressing the crowd as if she were the star of the event.

"Good evening, everyone!" she said, her voice clear and cold. "It's a pleasure to be here with you on this important occasion. And I can say that Min-jae..." she paused dramatically, smiling sarcastically, "...is the man everyone should know. He's my boyfriend," she finished, smiling at Min-jae. Her tone was cold, somewhat sarcastic, and Min-jae was stunned.

"What... what's going on?" he thought, obviously shocked.

Everyone stared at her, some confused, others puzzled, but all trying to figure out who she really was. Min-jae stood, frozen in place. He could only watch. What did this mean? Why was she doing this?

Before he could respond or even move, Claire took another step. She approached him and kissed him on the cheek—passionately, so that everyone present saw it. The camera flashes went off immediately, and the paparazzi began snapping photos from all directions. Min-jae couldn't say a word. It seemed like the whole world had stopped, as if everything had frozen in that moment.

"What is she trying to achieve?" he thought, trying to remain calm.

Claire didn't stop. She said nothing, just hugged him, holding him close, as if completely unaware of the chaos she had caused. The paparazzi clicked their cameras from every angle, and Min-jae was completely shocked. Then, without saying another word, she simply left. She disappeared into the crowd, as if she had never been there.

The next day, the newspapers were buzzing about his "provocative girlfriend," how she had completely overshadowed him at his own celebration. The comments were divided—some thought she was just another woman trying to be in the spotlight, while others believed she was his mistress. Min-jae couldn't calm down. He still didn't know why Claire had done this. What did she really want?

And while he tried to figure out her motives, he couldn't stop thinking about her. Claire wasn't an ordinary woman. He was sure of that.
