Chapter 75, The Terror of the Golden Dragon_1
Black Phoenix and a few others finally burst out of the canyon and heard an angry dragon's roar.
"That's the roar of a Giant Dragon! Could Richardson have found the BOSS?"
"Definitely! That damned Richardson, he's going to pay if we run into him later."
"Charge over there!"
Richardson, riding his Black Dragon, swiftly flew over.
"Richardson, was it you who lured the guards in the canyon?"
"And the BOSS? Did you kill it?"
Facing their questions, Richardson said, "I haven't encountered the BOSS yet. Ahead, there's a ruin hiding an Archer that's hard to deal with."
"Then what was that roar just now?"
"I heard it too. It wasn't my pet; it was another Giant Dragon's roar."
While everyone was puzzled, hundreds of eyes watched the sky. A huge golden figure appeared, dozens of times larger than the Giant Dragon beneath Richardson.
Everyone was stunned. Such a huge dragon—could this be the BOSS? How the hell do we fight this?
Just then, a figure appeared up front. Jiang Chen smiled and said, "Folks, make way. I'm off first. I'll leave the BOSS to you, since I'm such a nice guy!"
Black Phoenix was dumbstruck. So were the rest. What's going on? He's just leaving? Not fighting the BOSS?
As the crowd pondered in confusion, the Golden Dragon in the air sprayed a blue beam of light, aiming at where Jiang Chen stood. With a flash, Jiang Chen quickly escaped.
Everyone's expression changed drastically.
"Not good! This is the mysterious Golden Dragon! Its Breath of Destruction can obliterate everything, ignoring any defense!"
"What? A Golden Dragon? How can such a terrifying creature be here?"
"Isn't this a Secret Realm? How can such a powerful beast exist in a Secret Realm?"
"Once enveloped by the Breath of Destruction, there's no possibility of escape!"
"Not good, the Swordsman is coming this way!"
"Damn Swordsman, keep your distance! Don't come over here!"
"Don't you come over here!"
The others swiftly made way, clearing a path for Jiang Chen. But Jiang Chen had no intention of taking it and instead ran towards the crowd.
"Everyone, let's join forces to kill the BOSS! Whatever it drops is all yours; I don't want a single cent!"
Dozens of students watched Jiang Chen run towards them, then gazed at the dragon overhead. The Golden Dragon's mouth was gathering blue light, scaring them into scattering in all directions. Don't come over here! they all thought desperately.
Suddenly, a Breath of Destruction blasted out. A massive blue column of light surged forth, and Jiang Chen once again dodged it.
WHOOSH!
With Flash in the Void, his speed was incredible, enabling him to quickly escape over two hundred meters away.
While the Golden Dragon's Breath of Destruction was terrifying, it couldn't harm Jiang Chen. He even believed that not even his Blood Colored Shield could withstand the Golden Dragon's Power of Destruction. That shield had several million hit points, but before a truly powerful force, it was nothing.
AHH!
Screams rose. Several slower students were engulfed by the blue aura, vanishing instantaneously.
Jiang Chen glanced back at the scene. His heart twitched. That's just too damn monstrous.
The remaining students escaped the Breath of Destruction, breathing a sigh of relief, and inwardly cursed Jiang Chen ten thousand times over. Damn Swordsman...
Jiang Chen looked at the survivors and said with a smile, "Folks, let's kill the BOSS together."
"Go to hell!"
"Keep your distance!"
"Get at least a hundred meters away from me, or don't blame me for being rude!"
Richardson observed the Golden Dragon, while the dragon beneath him trembled with fear. Without a second word, Richardson rode his Flying Dragon away at speed.
The Golden Dragon spared him a glance and spurted out fire. The dragon beneath Richardson let out a mournful cry and died instantly; Richardson met the same fate.
The Golden Dragon flew above the canyon, coldly observing the crowd below. The others knew what the Golden Dragon was planning. No one dared to leave, as it guarded the passage, preventing anyone from exiting.
Black Phoenix's eyebrows were tightly furrowed. Even as an HP Recovery Warrior, she couldn't withstand a single hit from the Golden Dragon.
The scene was chaotic, with students scattering in all directions, especially those steering clear of Jiang Chen, fearing his involvement. They couldn't understand what terrible thing Jiang Chen must have done to make the Golden Dragon target him so firmly.
"Don't panic, everyone! Haven't you noticed? The Golden Dragon's gaze has been fixed on the Swordsman. As long as the Swordsman leaves, we can exit the Secret Realm!"
"That's true, I noticed it too. The Golden Dragon is too strong; we can't kill it."
"How can a Golden Dragon exist in this Secret Realm? Such a terrifying creature could likely drop Inscriptions beyond Legendary."
"It might not just be Inscriptions, but also equipment beyond Legendary! Do we have any chance of killing the BOSS together?"
"Forget it. We'd be lucky to get out of here. Even Second-stage Warriors can't kill such a formidable BOSS."
"Swordsman, leave now and let us out!"
"Right, you brought this on us! What exactly did you do?"
Jiang Chen chuckled. Leave? Why should I leave? Isn't it great here? Food and shelter, plus a Golden Dragon for company—why would I want to leave?
Jiang Chen said, "This is a BOSS we're talking about. Leaving now would be such a waste. It could very well be a Legendary level BOSS, or drop Legendary Equipment."
"Stop joking! That Golden Dragon is clearly an adult. We stand no chance against it."
"Our Offensive Power can't even scratch it. And even if it could, it's flying in the sky, beyond our reach."
"Dragons are the bane of every Hero."
"That Golden Dragon is watching you. What on earth did you do?"
"How about this? You lead the Golden Dragon away, and after you leave, we'll compensate you."
"Yes, we'll give you compensation!"
Jiang Chen smiled. Compensation? That sounds promising!
Jiang Chen cleared his throat. "Compensation, eh? How much will you give?"
Emerson asked, "How much do you want?"
"I like the look of the gear you're all wearing."
Upon hearing this, everyone was fuming. Their equipment, which they had worked so hard to collect, couldn't possibly be handed over to Jiang Chen. Jiang Chen was asking for the moon—demanding equipment outright!
Emerson shook his head. "That's impossible. Our equipment is crucial for upgrading our combat abilities. How about this: each of us gives you one million, and you lure the Golden Dragon away. What do you say?"
A million? Who do you think you're looking down on?
Jiang Chen said, "I think it's better if we unite and fight the BOSS. Even if I die, I'll be fearless."
The students understood that Jiang Chen was not impressed.
"Even if we die, you won't get our equipment! Besides, I have a Resurrection Scroll. Do you really think we'll die?"
Resurrection Scrolls were ancient artifacts crafted by Magicians, incredibly precious and worth hundreds of millions. To acquire such a scroll, one had to either find it, make it, or trade military merits for it. Resurrection Scrolls were few and far between; ordinary Heroes didn't have them and couldn't afford them.
Even with a Resurrection Scroll, your equipment would drop upon dying, and your Strength would decrease significantly.
Jiang Chen's eyes lit up. If they have Resurrection Scrolls, then things just got a lot easier. That's an extra life right there!
