World’s End: My Keyword is One More Than Others

Chapter 428: Test of the Sun God's Strength

The slumbering Sun God floated within the Sun Temple atop the mountain.

A thin mist veiled his robust body, rhythmically pulsating with his breath.

Through the mist, one could glimpse the Sun God's visage. He appeared to be in his early twenties, with features as meticulously sculpted as those of a master artist, exuding unparalleled handsomeness.

His body emitted a faint golden glow, raising the surrounding temperature. He resembled an energy entity; though quietly asleep, Du Ge could sense the immense power emanating from him.

This power was far more intense than what Du Ge felt when wielding the Power of Poseidon.

What nonsense about Fira and Miller sharing the Sun God's power?

The moment Du Ge saw the Sun God, he realized that rumor was a complete joke.

After showing Du Ge the Sun God, everyone left the Sun Temple.

Du Ge, ever cautious, wouldn't rashly attack the Sun God with his seven-orifice touch without fully understanding him.

This was his first time facing a deity directly.

The time in the Simulation Field when he shared the Power of Poseidon with Janice didn't count; after all, Poseidon had already fallen by then.

Back then, merely using Poseidon's scepter had nearly cost him his life. Without his skill as a master of evasion, he would have been eliminated.

This time, the deity was alive and seemed incredibly powerful.

The most crucial point was that Du Ge's skills in this round were somewhat lacking: the Power of Poseidon, tenuous connections, Protection of the People, Iron-Faced Impartial, and a bunch of other random spells...

Apart from the Power of Poseidon, none of his skills were particularly useful.

"King Holly, that's the Sun God. Crushing us would be as easy as squashing an ant for him. Are you really confident?" Reliel glanced back at the Sun Temple, his voice filled with awe and as low as a whisper.

We're already this far away, why are you still so scared?

Du Ge gave him a disdainful look and asked, "What abilities does the Sun God have?"

Miller gave Du Ge a puzzled look and said, "You're also a Sea God, and you don't know the abilities of deities? Deities use divine power; every move they make is a supernatural power."

Du Ge recalled how he used the Power of Poseidon, which also didn't involve any specific skills.

When attacking, he relied entirely on his control over water—in simple terms, he fought by instinct.

So, it all comes down to divine power?

The Sun God had lived for tens of thousands of years, and the Holy Pool he left behind had elevated his divine power to a higher level.

Could the mental power accumulated from the Alien Star Battlefield really compete with that?

Du Ge suddenly felt uncertain. He tentatively asked, "Can we move him to the sea without waking him?"

"King Holly, the Sun God is asleep, not dead," Avery said. "We can approach him, but as soon as we touch him, he will wake up."

"To avoid disturbing him, the Sun Temple has always been a forbidden zone in all of Boderuna. No one can approach it except us," Reliel added.

At this moment, Du Ge suddenly missed Dan Cong's characters.

Words like "forbidden," "weak," and "illusory"—if he could just stick a few of those on the Sun God, even the strongest deity would be at his mercy!

Du Ge looked at Nobu.

Nobu shook his head, "I can't borrow any skills from the Sun God, but I can feel my attributes have increased significantly."

Nobu couldn't borrow the Power of Poseidon back then, so it's normal he can't borrow the Sun God's power either.

As for the attribute boost, it was due to his second skill, Riding on Coattails. The stronger the target he depended on, the stronger his attributes became.

"By how much?" Du Ge's eyes lit up as he asked.

Although he couldn't verify the nature of the Sun God's power through Nobu's Riding on Coattails, he could use Nobu's second skill to calculate the difference between himself and the Sun God!

Every time Nobu changed his dependent target, his attributes reset. By first depending on the Sun God and then on Du Ge, it would be easy to calculate the difference between the two.

Knowing the gap between him and the Sun God would make the rest easier.

The unknown was the most terrifying.

Du Ge said, "The basis of attributes is strength. Use Miller as a reference." He looked at Miller, "You cooperate with him and resist his strength with all your might."

Miller was puzzled.

Nobu understood Du Ge's intention and pushed Miller.

Miller felt a tremendous force from Nobu. Before he could resist, he was pushed back more than ten steps.

Miller came back, looking surprised, "How do you have such strength?"

"He wasn't prepared just now. Let's do it again," Du Ge said. "Miller, use all your strength to defend."

Miller nodded and steadied himself.

Nobu exerted his strength again.

A massive force came from Nobu's hand, pushing Miller back again, but this time only three steps.

Nobu's base attributes were too low. Even with the attribute boost from the Sun God, his strength wasn't very high.

If Du Ge used his skill and depended on the Sun God, he could slap Miller away with one hand.

But this was already quite terrifying.

Miller was a battle angel, one of the best among the twelve seraphs. Without using skills, Nobu's current attributes wouldn't be able to move Miller an inch even if he pushed all day.

When Miller came back, he looked at Nobu with newfound respect.

He didn't know Nobu's skill, but being able to push him back without using his martial soul made Nobu a superhuman strong enough to command respect.

"Let me try," Du Ge said.

Nobu nodded and changed his dependent target to Du Ge, then pushed Miller again.

This time, Miller only took one step back before stopping, his face full of confusion, not understanding why Nobu's strength had decreased.

"Five times the difference," Du Ge observed Miller's retreat and gave the answer.

"What do you mean by five times the difference?" Fira asked.

"The difference in power between me and the Sun God is fivefold," Du Ge said. There was no need to hide it; the gap between him and the Sun God was obvious.

However, he explained, "This isn't my home ground, and I haven't had the Sea God's position for long. If we fought in the ocean, the gap would probably narrow to threefold."

"The Sun God and the Sea God are both high gods. How did you defeat the Sea God if your power is five times less than the Sun God's?" asked the wise angel Temel.

He was responsible for teaching and enlightening the angels, a versatile talent.

Since being subdued by Du Ge, he had remained silent. This was the first time he spoke since Du Ge caught him confessing.

"By ambush," Du Ge said. "And the Sea God had already been corrupted by an evil god, significantly weakening his power."

"You defeated the Sea God by ambush, and now you want to kill a fully-rested Sun God? If you want to die, don't drag us down with you!" Avery complained. "Why not let him continue sleeping? His slumber doesn't affect your position as God King. With your Power of Poseidon and our support, you can subdue all the lesser gods..."

"Avery, no one wants a sword hanging over their head at all times," Du Ge said. "If we don't eliminate them while they're asleep, are we supposed to wait until they wake up and let them slaughter us? Haven't you been worried all these years about the Sun God waking up? I don't want to live like that..."

"But the gap between you is so large. How can you possibly kill the Sun God?" Reliel frowned.

He had been by Du Ge's side and knew there was no actual killing of the Sea God; it was all Du Ge's fabrication. But he was equally shocked by Du Ge's rapid growth to a power level five times less than the Sun God's.

He looked at Du Ge and tentatively asked, "King Holly, why not wait a bit longer until your power matches the Sun God's before making a move?"

I would love to wait, but the other Alien Star warriors won't give me the time!

If someone else awakens an ancient god and has some control skills to manipulate the god to fight him, he wouldn't stand a chance.

In just over ten days, the rankings would be announced, and his first place would undoubtedly make him a target.

People from other planets had probably had enough of his dominance and wouldn't give him another chance to sweep through...

Moreover, divine power was linked to mental power and soul, and Du Ge couldn't find a quick way to boost his mental power.

The previous method of splitting his soul for abuse no longer increased his mental power, and the Holy Pool's soul purification and refinement only worked once. Soaking in it again wouldn't help.

Du Ge could continue to grind attributes to improve his physique, but physique was at a disadvantage against divine power, and time might not be enough.

After all, entering and exiting the divine realm seemed quite easy. A flying skill or knowing a couple of Messengers of God would suffice.

...

The other angels didn't know Du Ge's past and scoffed at Reliel's words.

Remiel said, "Reliel, divine power accumulates over time. For King Holly to grow to the Sun God's level would take at least thousands or tens of thousands of years. Don't forget, the Sun God's power also increases daily."

"King Holly is different; you don't understand him..." Reliel muttered.
