Chapter 155: Acting

In front of the joint squad, standing at the entrance of the Beimang Forbidden Land, Li Hao respectfully bowed towards the forbidden land and said:

"Sir, we have abided by your agreement, and we are ready to enter the Beimang Tomb."

As Li Hao's voice resonated, a thick ghostly fog converged into the form of the Blood God and appeared before the crowd.

Sweeping his gaze across the elite exploration squad present, Lu Yan glanced at the distant campsites of various forces.

This expedition to the Beimang Tomb posed risks; thus, no true aristocrats were sent, only those responsible for transmitting news back to Luocheng from the campsites.

Lu Yan didn't pay much attention to this and simply nodded slightly:

"Ready!"

Transforming into black fog, Lu Yan swung his sleeve, his hand reaching towards the depths of the Beimang Forbidden Land.

Above the sky, dense black fog suddenly gathered, like a gigantic beast awakening from ancient chaos.

The void twisted under this power, clouds were torn apart, revealing the unfathomable darkness behind. The black fog slowly condensed, forming an enormous hand that shrouded the sky, each finger entwined with ominous shadows, leaving pitch-black cracks in the void as they slashed through the skies.

This gigantic black fog hand pressed down slowly, where it passed, starlight vanished, even moonlight trembled. The air solidified under this force, the ground trembled under this terrifying pressure, while the mountains lay prostrated like scared beasts.

The spot where the hand fell seemed ready to completely obliterate this forbidden land.

"Alas!"

A long sigh echoed from the depths of the forbidden land, and at the moment the sigh sounded, everyone present seemed to feel an indescribable sadness, the infectious emotions making them shed tears unwittingly, some even softly sobbed.

"We merely seek a slim chance of survival, why does the Blood God force us so harshly?"

At this critical juncture, the white fog of the Beimang Forbidden Land suddenly boiled, countless strands of mist soared like awakened dragons, weaving and swirling in the void.

These white mists seemed to contain some ancient and timeless will, gathering at an incredible speed, forming a similarly giant hand, rising to meet the giant black fog hand with a sky-supporting momentum.

The two hands, formed from fog, met in the void, black versus white, sky versus earth, two distinctly different forces collided at this moment.

The black fog surged with greed to devour everything, while the white mist seemed to carry the heavy and solid weight of all the mountains.

Their point of impact exploded with dazzling brilliance, black and white mists interwove in the void, like two giant dragons embroiled in battle.

The aftershocks of energy swept all around, peaks swayed under this force, ancient trees bent, and layers of air waves echoed within the valleys.

The mist that originally enveloped the Beimang Forbidden Land dispersed at this moment, allowing everyone to see a massive bronze gate, showing signs of ancient years, beneath a cliff within the forbidden land.

"Enter!"

The voice of the Blood God exploded in their ears, like a divine command, waking them from the shock of the ghostly battle before them.

Upon hearing, the members of the joint squad immediately stepped into the forbidden land, heading towards the direction of the bronze gate.

"Mere human ants, how dare you trespass upon my tomb?"

An angry roar erupted above the sky, then amidst the swirling clouds in the forbidden land, a legion of souls appeared.

This was an army from the ancient battlefield, their armor shattered, their damaged soul bodies stained with blood that hadn't dried for a thousand years, exuding an alarming intent to fight.

The rusted spears and tattered battle flags appeared faintly within the fog, guarding this ancient tomb.

As the joint expedition team stepped into the forbidden land, the souls from the ancient battlefield suddenly looked towards everyone, the soaring killing intent nearly crushed all their wills instantly.

Especially the thirty elite squad members at the forefront, their recent supply of spiritual energy potions granted them strength far beyond that of ordinary people, their rising power and overwhelming strength over others developed their confidence.

Despite all representatives frequently informing them of the terror posed by the souls from the ancient battlefield, they still had sufficient confidence to face them.

However, just a mere instant of contact, their spirits collapsed immediately, facing the rushing souls from the ancient battlefield, escape seemed nothing more than wishful thinking.

Seeing this, Li Hao immediately showed urgency, unable to resist calling out loud to Lu Yan:

"Please, sir, summon the Yin Soldiers to block the enemy!"

"Why the hurry?"

Lu Yan casually responded, then, tracing the air with his finger, an illusory silhouette transformed into a space fissure.

Following this, the Soul Banner hidden within his palm summoned forth, a legion of Yin Soldiers clad in Yin Armor and holding chains stepped into the temporal plane as if traversing from the space cleft.

The soul-locking chains held by the Yin Soldiers swung in the air, like silver lightning tearing through the black fog-covered sky.

The souls from the ancient battlefield arranged into a profound battle array, their tattered battle flags billowing in the void, as if reenacting a primordial battle.

Two transcendental armies confronted each other in front of the tomb, the atmosphere laden with suffocating oppression.

"Kill!"

With an order, the Yin Soldiers and the souls clashed instantly.

In terms of individual strength, the Underworld's Yin Soldiers far surpassed the souls, the Soul Hooks having a natural restraining effect upon the souls, annihilating them with a single blow.

But the main issue was there were simply too many souls on the battlefield.

As the unknown mist churned and surged, another group of ancient battlefield souls rushed in to support, some ghost generals riding skeletal warhorses charging forth.

In contrast, only a sparse three hundred Yin Soldiers from the Underworld stood at an advantage, yet faced with endless ancient battlefield souls they still found themselves overwhelmed.

"Yin Wind!"

The leading Yin Soldier issued a fierce shout, following which the Yin Soldiers formed a great array, the Yin Wind whistling upwards from the deep earth.

This wind seemed to contain the chilling cold from the depths of the Nine Nether, each strand of air current capable of piercing souls, tearing through the void.

The souls from the ancient battlefield wavered under this dreadful Yin Wind, unable to resist this Underworld power with their tattered armor, their soul bodies started to deteriorate bit by bit.

The seemingly endless stream of souls was briefly repelled by this terrifying Yin Wind, a strand flowing past the rocks, directly causing large areas of rocks to weather.

Upon witnessing this scene, the leader of the joint squad finally saw a glimmer of opportunity, shouting loudly:

"Into the tomb!"

Then, an elite member seized the chance to rush to the bronze gate, used the explosives prepared in advance to place them, then stepped aside.

With a thunderous boom, the bronze gate was blasted, creating a large hole, allowing everyone to enter the tomb through it.

As everyone successfully entered the tomb, the souls outside the Beimang Tomb roared furiously but ceased any futile slaughter, instead engaging in a standoff against the Yin Soldiers outside this tomb.

Meanwhile, a message popped up on the virtual interface before Lu Yan's eyes.
