Chapter 61: CH: 61 Tessa's Feeling And Emotions
[Chapter: 61 Tessa's Feeling And Emotions]
William said to Cade, "Cade, you want me to hold you too?"
"Just take care of Tessa," Cade snorted and walked slowly forward along the anchor's cable.
"Well, it's your choice." William stepped on the rope without feeling the slightest bit of fear or shaking. It was almost peaceful on the ground.
Tessa's hands clasped William's neck tightly. Looking at the ground far below, her heartbeat accelerated for a moment, but feeling the heat from William, the nervousness slowly subsided. This man would definitely protect her.
Tessa was suddenly surprised. When did she start having such thoughts? Believing that this man would protect her—why does she believe it? He is so hateful, evil, and a bad guy.
Tessa really didn't understand why she became like this. It seemed that suddenly, she had changed. She had obviously liked Shane.
Shane. Shane was dead, and he had died in front of her. Tessa's eyes flashed with sadness, guilt weighing on her heart. When Shane came here for her, she was indirectly responsible for his death.
"Shane is dead," Tessa said softly.
William immediately said, "Really? That's a sad thing. He died so young." He didn't mention that he had killed him.
"He died in front of me. I killed him," Tessa whispered.
"Are you feeling guilty?"
"Yeah."
William felt he should enlighten Tessa. "In fact, it was my fault. The last call was when I told him you were in Chicago. Alas, it was all my fault. I shouldn't have told him."
Tessa shook her head. "You didn't kill him. Maybe this is fate." But in fact, William had killed the man.
"Tessa, since you know this is his fate, don't blame yourself. I think Shane also hoped that you could live a happy life," William said slowly. He had to admit it sounded convincing.
"I know, but I—"
"Tessa, you don't have to say anything. Leave everything to me. Don't think about anything else. I will protect you, give you warmth, and give you happiness," William said affectionately. Of course, he meant every word.
Tessa nodded. "Well, I understand." Why did she feel a sense of joy? Tessa really didn't understand herself. She used to hate this man so much, but now she wanted to depend on him and stay beside him. Her heart had truly changed.
Su Yueming looked at William's expression. "Can you not be so disgusting? I want to vomit just watching you. Although I don't understand what happened, the man named Shane is dead. You should be very happy, right?"
"How can you say that? Shane's dead, and I'm really sad," William said with a pained look.
"I believe in William," Tessa said.
"Believe in this asshole? Little girl, your brain is not working at all," Su Yueming rolled her eyes. "Do you even know what kind of person he is?"
"No matter what kind of person he is, I know that he will protect me, save me, and care for me."
Su Yueming said silently, "Okay, okay."
"Roar!" came an unpleasant scream.
"This voice?" Tessa asked.
"It seems a bit of trouble is coming our way," William said lightly.
Behind the anchor's rope, five Cybertron wolves roared, climbing toward the rope.
"They're coming. Our speed is not enough," Su Yueming said, looking back.
"Cade, hurry up! The wolves are coming!"
"I know, I know." Cade sped up, but the cables ahead were getting thinner, and he couldn't move any faster.
"Woof!" A Cybertron wolf jumped up and rushed toward William.
"Hold on!" William made a quick leap, crossing a distance of two meters, and jumped onto a parallel cable next to it.
"Ah!" Su Yueming and Tessa screamed together, their hearts nearly stopping.
After the Cybertron wolf's attack failed because William was gone, it fell down. Before it hit the ground, it bit into the cable, snapping it with its steel teeth.
Looking at the broken cable, Su Yueming and Tessa were frightened, cold sweat running down their backs.
"It seems we need to go faster," William said, walking quickly along the cable. When he reached the front, there was only one cable left.
"William, is this okay?" Tessa quivered.
"Trust me," William said calmly, walking on the single cable.
Su Yueming, a strong and calm woman at all times, was not so calm at this moment. "Asshole, if I fall down, I won't let you go even if I turn into a ghost."
"Dad, hurry!" Tessa called.
"I know!"
The remaining Cybertron wolves no longer chased William but instead began biting the cables one by one.
The cables snapped one by one.
"Ah!" Cade yelled as the cable he was on disconnected. He fell.
"Dad!" Tessa screamed, helplessly watching Cade fall.
"Tessa—!"
William glanced at Cade and muttered in a low voice, "It's time to say goodbye. I'll take good care of Tessa, so you can go with peace of mind, heheh."
Suddenly, William's feet slipped—his cable broke as well.
"Too bad!" Tessa and Su Yueming cried out together, "Aaaaah!"
"Tighten your hold on my neck and don't let go!" William yelled, grabbing the broken cable with one hand.
The cable swung toward the side of the building. Su Yueming and Tessa screamed loudly.
"Doesn't it feel like you're riding a roller coaster?" William shouted.
"You lunatic! You're about to hit the building!" Su Yueming yelled, seeing that they were about to crash into the glass.
"Rest assured, nothing will happen," William said. Letting go of the cable, inertia hurled them toward the building.
"Tessa, let go of my neck and trust me!" William shouted.
"I trust you!" Tessa released her hold. Before she fell, William grabbed her hand and pulled her into a protective embrace.
"Ha!" William twisted his body, positioning his back toward the building.
Bam!
William's back smashed into the glass, shattering it. The group tumbled into the building.
