Chapter 36: CH: 36 Her Knight In Shining Armor
[Chapter: 36 Her Knight In Shining Armor]
Everyone stood frozen in disbelief, their eyes locked on the scene unfolding before them. The shield, defying all known laws of physics, rebounded with uncanny precision, soaring through the air before landing perfectly in the hands of a man. It was an act that seemed to mock the very principles of physics they had always taken for granted, a spectacle so extraordinary it left them questioning everything they thought they knew.
"It's him." Tessa looked at William, who stood still like a mountain—the man who had rescued her.
"Shoot, kill him," James shouted as he came out of his stupor.
"As if." William yelled, starting to run so fast that one could hardly see his shadow.
"Aaah, aaaah, aaaaah!" A few screams rang out as several agents were sent flying through the air and slammed into the ground.
Boom!
The barn door was blown apart, and a giant Mecha rushed out of it. "If you're looking for me, then here I am."
"Damn," James muttered.
"Hurry up and get out of here, or they will kill you," Optimus yelled, then fired his gun, causing an explosion.
William looked at Optimus Prime, the Superman of this world—at least in spirit. "I didn't expect to get this close to a Transformer. It used to be an impossible dream, but now I want to ride one as a car."
Cade, Lucas, and Tessa ran toward Optimus one after another. William ran alongside them and said, "Come with me."
"Who are you?" Cade exclaimed.
"Me? The person who just saved your lives." William's eyes grew darker, more intense.
Two missiles targeted Optimus Prime from a distance. They were fired by the black Transformer standing on the iron tower. Its goal was Optimus Prime.
Optimus rolled to the side, narrowly avoiding the missile bombardment. A nearby stationary car was blasted into the sky.
In the air, three more missiles rained down, striking Cade's house, which burst into flames and began to collapse.
Optimus transformed into a truck and sped toward the highway.
James got into a car and shouted, "Call for backup! Optimus Prime has broken through the first line."
"Get in the car," William ordered, and the three ran to his vehicle.
"This car..." Tessa froze, recognizing it immediately.
"Hurry up, don't stop," William urged.
After getting in, William started the car and drove off quickly, but another car was already pursuing them.
"This is Shane's car!" Tessa screamed.
"Yes, is there a problem?" William smiled.
"What happened to Shane?" Tessa demanded.
"Oh, that's right. Shane was going to come to your house, but it looked like the men in black and all the chaos scared him off. I happened to be nearby, so he gave me his car and asked me to save you."
Tessa shook her head. "No, Shane wouldn't do that. I don't believe you."
Cade looked at William and then at Tessa. "What the fuck are you talking about? Who are you?"
"I'm William, the guy who saved your lives. As for Shane or whatever, he seems to be in a relationship with your daughter."
"Who is Shane?" Cade asked, glaring at Tessa.
Tessa froze. If her father knew she had a boyfriend, he'd definitely lose his temper. "He... he... Dad, this isn't the time to talk about this. We need to escape first."
"This isn't over," Cade warned, shooting a stern glance at her.
A black sports car sped up behind William's car with astonishing speed.
"What kind of car is that? It's so fast! And there's another one coming!" Lucas yelled.
"Enter the cornfield and shake them off," Cade shouted.
On the left was a large cornfield. William drove into it, the stalks whipping against the car's windows, leaving behind a cloud of dust.
The two pursuing vehicles followed them into the cornfield. William burst out of the field, narrowly avoiding a collision with a chasing car. Tessa screamed in terror.
A military helicopter appeared overhead, dropping bombs on a car near William's vehicle.
"Aaaah!" Tessa screamed as the car shook violently.
"Fuck," William muttered. He had never allowed anyone to intimidate him like this. He had always been the one initiating destruction.
"You can drive the car," William said, punching the windshield and shattering it.
"What are you going to do?" Cade yelled, startled by William's sudden move.
"Getting those things to stop chasing us. So shut up and take the wheel," William snapped as he crawled out of the broken windshield.
"Fuck!" Cade shouted, grabbing the steering wheel.
"What is he going to do? Isn't this just suicide?" Lucas cried out.
Tessa, her voice filled with resentment, said, "He's just a pervert. He should just die." Yet, despite her words, her eyes kept darting toward William's figure.
The helicopters continued their bombardment.
"Ah!"
William's speed surged to an astonishing 50 meters per second, his form a fleeting shadow tearing across the ground. With a primal roar, "Ha!" he stomped down with immense force, the ground beneath his foot shattering as if struck by a meteor. The sheer power of his leap sent his body soaring toward the helicopter hovering above like a predator zeroing in on its prey.
"I... I can't believe what I'm seeing," Lucas stammered, his voice shaking. "Is he even human? An alien, maybe?"
Cade's jaw dropped as he tried to process the impossible. "There's no way he's... Oh my God, he's actually going for it—jumping onto the helicopter!"
"Not human," Tessa whispered under her breath, her voice a mix of awe and disbelief. She didn't know whether it was a compliment or an unspoken fear.
BOOM!
William's body slammed onto the nose of the helicopter with the force of a wrecking ball, the impact causing the entire aircraft to groan under the strain. His fingers dug into the metal, gripping it with unrelenting strength as if it were nothing more than soft clay.
"Kill him! SHOOT HIM!" the pilot screamed, his voice edged with panic as the helicopter spiraled erratically in the air.
The co-pilot fumbled for his gun, but William was faster. Reaching behind him, he unsheathed the shield strapped to his back and hurled it forward with deadly precision. "Goodbye, motherfucker!"
The shield crashed through the helicopter's windshield like a cannonball, obliterating the glass in a violent explosion of shards. The pilot and co-pilot screamed, their control over the craft completely lost as the helicopter twisted in the sky, plummeting toward the ground.
In a flash, William lunged into the cockpit, his movements an incomprehensible blur. With one hand, he grabbed the pilot and yanked him out of his seat as if the man weighed nothing, hurling him through the shattered windshield.
The helicopter hurtled toward the earth, seconds from catastrophe. But with an uncanny calmness, William seized the controls, wrestling the machine back into submission. The rotors howled as the helicopter leveled out, rising steadily once more, defying the inevitability of the crash.
The co-pilot, desperate and enraged, lunged at William with all his strength. But William moved like lightning, deflecting the blow effortlessly. His counterpunch connected with brutal force, striking the co-pilot's face with the weight of a battering ram.
"Ahhh!" the co-pilot screamed, his body snapping back from the impact. The sheer force of the punch launched him across the cockpit, slamming him against the hatch with a deafening BOOM!.
The hatch door gave way under the impact, and the co-pilot tumbled out of the helicopter, his scream fading as he plummeted to the ground below.
William leaned back in the pilot's seat, his hands steady on the controls, guiding the helicopter as if he had done it a thousand times.
