Chapter 617: You Really Are a Genius!!
The morning of September 3rd.
Victor was interviewed at the National Palace by a journalist from the United Morning News.
This publication has a significant influence in Asia; its predecessors, the Nanyang Business News established in 1923 and the Xingzhou Daily founded in 1929, merged in 1983, both being newspapers with a long history.
Many politicians and business magnates like to contribute articles to it.
Hmm…
It certainly has some value for political unity!
Especially in conveying Mexico's "positive image" to Asia. After the war ended, Mexico needed markets, and the people there were quite suitable.
"Mr. Leader…"
The reporter from the United Morning News was a woman in her early thirties, Chen Lianlian, who had a considerable influence in Singapore. Many praised her as the "Iron Maiden of journalism" for her bare-faced beauty, rigorous style, and sharp writing.
Victor waved his hand, smiling, "No need to be so formal, just call me by my name. Everyone's human rights are equal, the only difference is in their work positions. We are all striving for world peace, so no need to be so constrained. Just call me Victor."
The tone was very gentle, not at all like… the notorious thug rumored to be!
Chen Lianlian's expression softened slightly. Although she knew this might be a political show, it still sounded quite pleasant.
It's like when your wife says you are great, it feels nice to hear.
Meanwhile, Casare, sitting outside the camera view, squinted his eyes and looked Chen Lianlian up and down. This woman is really stunning. The boss sure likes fast food?
No no no, although the boss is sometimes lustful, he's not in such a rush to act on it.
To say something unpleasant, for power, women are just accessories.
Chen Lianlian nodded to the photographer, then after a preamble, got straight to the point.
"Mr. Victor, we know the US-Mexico War has signed a ceasefire agreement. Does this indicate a shift from American hegemony to Mexican hegemony or perhaps a change in the world order?"
This topic was asked very… bluntly.
Chen Lianlian stared at Victor, it was her habit, to see if she could tell if someone was lying.
"The United States hasn't been a hegemon for a long time. Since June 25, 1950, it hasn't been a true tough guy. It only resembles a dog wanting to rape everything everywhere, attacking anyone who seems weak. But unfortunately, here in Mexico, we snipped off its troubles."
Wow, this could be said so crudely?!
"And as for the so-called Mexican hegemony? We have never thought of enslaving anyone; we are all having equal dialogues…"
Chen Lianlian furrowed her brow, continuing her attack, "But your so-called equality is using weapons to bomb Medellin and Cali, is it? According to numerous reports, the Allies have killed over 20,000 people in Colombia. Is this not damaging bilateral relations?"
Victor squinted, leaned forward, and spoke very frankly and directly, "We are targeting the drug trafficking groups in Colombia. As long as people don't get involved with the drug traffickers, their life and property are absolutely safe. But if they continue to associate with them, they are on the path to destruction!"
"But such actions have caused some controversy…"
"There are always people who like to look at me under a magnifying glass while ignoring things they should care about. In the Middle East, why don't they condemn that damn Israel? They kill civilians, but I kill drug traffickers. Whoever criticizes me has a guilty conscience."
"Then won't this affect Mexico's relations with countries worldwide…" said Chen Lianlian.
Victor spread his hands, "The friendship between Mexico and the world, even if countries worldwide oppose it, it won't matter!"
Damn!
Why does this sound so juvenile yet somewhat satisfying?
The photographer and Chen Lianlian had met many leaders, who were modest, hypocritical, somber, yet maintained a certain gentlemanly demeanor. But someone as domineering as Victor was rare! Very rare! Very rare!
Hmm… no wonder some fans of Victor call him the "Great Emperor," praising his disposition.
Chen Lianlian quickly collected her thoughts, letting her legs down as she sat upright, outlining a very beautiful curve with her figure. This was one of her little tricks; she enjoyed… seeing the desire for herself in the eyes of those lofty powerhouses.
Victor was not a saint; he certainly took an extra glance, then shifted his gaze away, while a sense of "sneaky satisfaction" inside Chen Lianlian made her quite pleased.
She was a woman adept at using her body.
"Then may I ask, how will the Mexican Government handle New Mexico and California…" She continued with her questions but noticed someone not far away whispering to second-in-command Casare, who immediately stood up, jogged over, and broke into the camera's view.
He whispered a few words in Victor's ear.
Chen Lianlian saw the man's expression suddenly change, then he stood up and apologetically said, "I'm sorry, but something has come up at work suddenly, have them take a break."
"Alright!"
Though curious, Chen Lianlian knew sometimes it was best not to know too much and obediently followed the government personnel out.
As she was leaving, she turned her head and saw Victor in a suit, surrounded by a group of people, walking into the National Palace.
A phrase popped into her mind: "Men conquer the world, I conquer men!"
"Miss Chen, this way."
"Oh oh oh, okay!"
Back in the office, Victor sat down in a chair, frowning, looking at Casare and Intelligence Bureau Director Jeff Bennett, among others. "Damn it, are the Yanks idiots? They can't even control their own troops!"
