Working as a police officer in Mexico

Chapter 580: Beating the Master with Wild Punches! (Part 3)

"Will Paul Constantine Stuart have any opinions?"

Victor waved his hand, "All communication has to come through Bramo, he wouldn't dare talk to me directly. Even if he has opinions, he's holding them back."

Just worried he'd hold them back too much.

Knock, knock, knock—

As the two were deep in conversation, someone knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Military secretary Martin Bao Man came in, "Sir, the latest military news: Two F-117A 'Nighthawks' and three F16s from New Mexico have breached Chihuahua State airspace, encountering our three routinely patrolling F-15Es over Juarez, and engaged in combat."

"What's the situation?"

"We shot down one F-117A, damaged one, and blew up one F16 from their side, with one of our aircraft downed, but the pilot parachuted to safety and was rescued."

"New Mexico State."

Victor furrowed his brow, "Trying to stir up trouble, it seems."

"Which unit is stationed in Juarez?"

"The Eastern Theater's 5th Army, 179th Army." Casare quickly replied; his speed made the military secretary next to him shoot him a glance.

To remember every unit's jurisdiction for the boss's queries, Fat Casare was reciting day and night. Do you think being a subordinate is easy?

"Otto Moritz Walter Model?"

Victor's eyebrows raised upon hearing the unit, "I remember he still has a disciplinary action hanging over him, right?"

Casare and Martin Bao Man exchanged looks, "Yes."

"During the Sotolamarina beach landing, he was a division commander, and his defense against the U.S. Military was outstanding. I was ready to commend him with a personal honor title, but then the 'military corruption' issue arose, and I remember very clearly that afterward, the First-class Merit award for the 179th Division was halted, and he received a disciplinary action. They must harbor a lot of resentment, don't they?"

No one dared to answer.

"If it were me, I'd be resentful too; human nature dictates that one should have something to show for the efforts of risking life in battle, doesn't it?"

Victor muttered to himself, picked up the cigarettes on the desk, and squinted his eyes, "Arrange a call with the headquarters of the 179th Army; I want to speak with Otto Moritz Walter Model."

"Yes!"

The military secretary Martin rushed to make arrangements.

In Juarez, Chihuahua State.

Otto Moritz Walter Model listened to his subordinate's report with a solemn expression, hands folded behind him, when he heard a knock on the door and a staff officer pushed in.

"Didn't I say not to interrupt during meetings?"

The officers present all looked at the Captain staff officer, who was visibly sweating, "General, a phone call from Mexico City, the Supreme Leader wants to speak with you."

Otto Moritz Walter Model immediately jumped up, "Why didn't you say so earlier!"

He rushed out of the office anxiously.

Captain Staff Officer: ????

He returned to the office, took a deep breath to calm his racing heartbeat, and picked up the phone, "Supreme Leader—"

"Otto, are you scolding your subordinates again?"

"No, no."

"You're too strict; you need to get along better with your comrades, don't overdo it." Victor offered some mild advice before getting to the point, "I heard there's movement of troops in New Mexico State?"

"Yes, according to my intelligence, the 27th Special Operations Regiment and the 150th Special Operations Regiment, totaling around 6,000 personnel, are moving towards the border..."

"Strike back!" Victor stated firmly.

"I've suspended the First-class Merit award for the 179th Division and given you a disciplinary action; are you still holding a grudge over this?"

"I wouldn't dare—"

"Not daring or unable to? No need to be so reserved; I'm giving you an opportunity now: I order the 179th Army to strike first, to counter-attack into New Mexico State, proactive over reactive!"

"I'll give orders to Goodrian to cooperate with you."

??! A district commander cooperating with an army commander????

"As long as you achieve a victorious start, I'll return both your commendations and the 179th's First-class Merit award to you."

Otto Moritz Walter Model's breath quickened instantly, swallowing hard, "Supreme Leader, do you mean it?"

"Did I call to joke with you?"

"Just tell me, do you have the confidence!"

"Promise to complete the task, the 179th Army will forever be the Combat Vanguard of the Mexican Army!"

Victor was very satisfied but still added, "Make sure your slogans aren't just loud noises. I'm giving you the greatest autonomy; extend the battle line into New Mexico State. If you can't do it well, I will replace you."

"Yes!"

After hanging up, Otto Moritz Walter Model's eyes gleamed as he walked out calling, "Order all division commanders to gather in the meeting room!"

"If not here in twenty minutes, go feed the pigs."
