Work Prophet

Chapter 47: Submit or Die

Ivan escorted Tristan into the tunnel, but Tristan didn't walk too far before stopping. He planned to stay near the tunnel entrance to keep an eye on the movement above.

Tristan's four guards followed closely behind the two, and behind them was a group brought by Ivan. Tristan merely felt that Ivan's group seemed somewhat large.

However, he didn't think much of it as his attention was focused on the two Dragons. But when he turned around, he saw a scene that left him utterly horrified.

The people at the back of the group suddenly drew their weapons and, without hesitation, stabbed towards the four guards of the Panglos Family in front.

The four guards did not expect to be ambushed from behind and were completely unprepared. They were quickly stabbed to death by a flurry of swords almost instantly.

Tristan felt his hair stand on end and took a half step back, one hand on his sword hilt, looking towards Ivan at his side,

"You, you betrayed me. Where is your noble honor?!"

"Don't you find it ironic for those words to come out of your mouth?" Ivan chuckled.

"What exactly did Allister promise you? I can offer double."

After the initial shock, Tristan quickly calmed down. It was no longer meaningful to pursue Ivan's betrayal; the important thing was to protect his own life now.

Ivan shook his head, "You can't afford it. They promised to let me succeed you as the master of Elk Valley."

"......"

Tristan knew he likely wouldn't escape today, so he met Ivan's gaze directly and said.

"You've bet on the wrong horse. Queen Irelia and Prophet Merlin will not let you go."

"Not everyone is as afraid of that woman and her godlike backer as you are. The Vespasian Family are the true masters of this continent."

Ivan said, "Even if you pulled a child from the roadside, they would know that."

"Perhaps in the past, but the future..."

"The future is not yours to worry about," Ivan interrupted Tristan, raising the long sword in his hand.

"For the sake of our past relationship, I'll make it quick for you."

Hearing this, Tristan took a deep breath and drew his sword, "Then come on!"

......

A moment later, Ivan emerged from the tunnel again, this time carrying something in his hand compared to when he went in.

It was a bloody head, belonging to the former master of Elk Valley.

Ivan threw the still steaming head in front of the guards defending the city and said aloud,

"Surrender or die, you can choose one."

The guards were shocked when they saw the head's face.

A confidante of Tristan's, eyes red with fury, cursed at Ivan, "Traitor! You shameless traitor, you've betrayed the Duke's trust in you.

"Everyone, come kill him with me and avenge Lord Tristan!"

Prompted by him, several people drew their weapons and charged at Ivan.

But before they could reach Ivan, a giant red Dragon descended from the sky, blocking their way.

It swung its massive tail, sweeping through the crowd, and those hit by its tail were instantly sent flying.

Many people's armor was deformed and caved in by the blow, breaking several bones inside, and once they hit the ground, they couldn't get up again.

The remaining people involuntarily stopped in their tracks.

Immediately, a slightly smaller Azure Dragon dove down, opening its massive maw to spew forth raging flames.

The world seemed to ignite wherever it passed.

Behind them were over a hundred Wing Clan members, wings sprouting from their backs; those Wing Clan Warriors wielded bows and arrows, freely shooting the guards atop the city walls.

The people below wanted to retaliate, but it was tough to hit those in the air.

Elsewhere, Alista led the Northern Territory's elite warriors in another charge; they hardly encountered any obstacles along the way and soon reached the gate of Deer Horn Gate.

Allister, holding a large shield, defended against the sparse arrows from the walls while keeping a close eye on the thick city gate before him.

In the next moment, he saw the city gate creak as it slowly opened to both sides.

Joy flashed in Allister's eyes. He immediately led his men inside, quickly gaining control of the towers on both sides and repelling a counterattack from the opposite side.

As more and more troops poured into the city from behind, Allister knew the city was now theirs.

He wiped the blood from his face and excitedly said to his attendant,

"Sanders, did you see that? Even without Cornelia and the Life Goddess's blessing, I am invincible!"

Sanders also exclaimed, "Your majesty, your bravery is unparalleled. Conley and Claudio wouldn't dare to charge ahead like you. They can only hide behind and watch the brave warriors ahead fight the enemy."

Allister was delighted with Sanders' praise, even though Cornelia and Schroeder had warned him not to lead from the front too often.

But as the commander fighting on the front line, the boost to troop morale was evident to the naked eye.

Among the three factions, Allister and his Northern Army were the fiercest fighters. If not for the two giant Dragons, he might have already reclaimed Lion Heart Castle.

Thinking of this, Allister looked somewhat complexly at the two giant figures in the sky not far away.

At least this time, those two giant Dragons stood on their side, sparing Allister the worry of how to deal with them for now.

Withdrawing his gaze, he looked around; Deer Horn Gate, Elk Valley's foremost fortress, now belonged to them.

Allister could lead his army to rest here, build fortifications, and patiently await Ireya's arrival if she dared to come.

With this sturdy fortress in hand, Allister felt his chances of defeating Ireya increased.

He was eager to see Ireya's expression when she led her army to Elk Valley and found that it had already changed hands.

However, unbeknownst to Allister, Ireya was already aware of Deer Horn Gate's fall through the radio station in the city the night it happened.

But she wasn't as panicked as Allister imagined. The girl merely touched her chin and said, "Huh, they acted pretty quickly."

Yet beside her, Erl and Genaril appeared utterly distraught.

Erl, with eyes red, pleaded with Miss Rabbit to avenge his father.

Ireya wasn't sure if he was actually as sad as he appeared because with Tristan's death, Erl naturally became the head of the Panglos Family and master of Elk Valley.

Nonetheless, this was good news for Ireya. Tristan was too unscrupulous, known for his fickleness, while his son seemed at least a little more respectable.

Miss Rabbit patted Erl and Genaril's shoulders, comfortingly saying, "Rest assured, I will avenge your father, and I'll help you reclaim Elk Valley."

Hearing this, Erl immediately knelt on one knee, eagerly declaring, "The deep gratitude of the Panglos Family can never be forgotten. I am willing to be your most loyal vassal and expand your territories."
