Chapter 13: The Continent's Situation

In just three months, three new emperors emerged on the Bratis Continent, leaving many people stunned.

And the three of them later engaged in a chaotic battle around Lion Heart Castle, with Allister backed by the Monteverde Family and the Life Church, advancing aggressively.

Conley, from the Lanster Family, was assisted by surviving Wing Tribe members and two Dragons, and had the support of new nobles, always maintaining the upper hand.

Claudio was slightly weaker among the three, as the Forest Dukes' territories were achieved through their own efforts, and they were the most battle-capable nobles of the Empire, but they had lost many in previous battles against the giant dragon and elves.

Later, after reclaiming the Forest Land and attacking the Eternal Green Forest, another group of warriors died, putting them at a numerical disadvantage.

However, as the war continued, Claudio gradually became the one with the most people, with nobles flocking to him nearly matching those who sought out the other two.

Although Claudio's handsome appearance and personal charisma played a part in this, it was largely due to the efforts of the Second Son Alliance backing him.

This mysterious organization gradually surfaced amidst the Bratis Continent's throne struggles, becoming increasingly active, though the identity of the person behind it remains a mystery.

Aside from continually battling near the Red Plain, the three factions actively vie for territories elsewhere.

The Red Plain, Elk Valley, and most of the New Land were swallowed up by Conley, while Allister, besides controlling the Northern Territory and newly occupied New Moon Land, captured two towns in the New Land.

Claudio, on the other hand, now controls the Forest Land, Eternal Green Forest, and the area around Three Prong River, with the factions having fairly divided all nearby territories.

Consequently, they set their sights on more distant lands — the Golden Valley and the Western Territory, the only two pieces of "unclaimed" land in the west of the Empire.

Although they are said to be unclaimed, the situations in the Western Territory and Golden Valley are different.

Solomon led his Wing Tribe army to Bratis, achieving victory after victory, only losing one battle in the Western Territory, where he not only lost nearly all his troops but also his own life.

Although Lannita concealed his death for some time, publicly claiming he was only gravely injured, Solomon hadn't surfaced for a whole year, and eventually, everyone understood the truth.

Add to this the complete reversal in attitude of the Wing Tribe, who not only abandoned their conquest plans for Bratis but also actively supported Conley and the Lancelot Family, choosing to retreat into the background.

If Solomon were still around, such a turnaround would never have been allowed.

As a hero who defeated Solomon and his Wing Tribe army, saving the Western Territory and the entire continent, Ireya hasn't claimed to be the new ruler of the Western Territory, but all the Western Territory's nobles already regard her as such.

Whether it's Allister, Claudio, or Conley, all wish to win her over, as gaining her would mean securing the support of the entire Western Territory, but Ireya hasn't expressed her stance yet.

In contrast, the situation in the Golden Valley is much more complex, mirroring the tensions on the continent.

The Campbell Family lost their brilliant Family Head and their territory.

Lilania and Pibo have been recruiting tirelessly this past year, attempting to reclaim their family's lost land, but this isn't easy.

Aside from obstruction by new nobles, there's also competition from within their ranks.

Black Hand Edra, Lilania's uncle, went to the Northern Territory to serve Allister after Theodore's death, voluntarily pledging allegiance to him.

Not long after, he returned to the Golden Valley, waving the flags of the Campbell Family and the Vespasian Family, competing with Lilania for Theodore's former vassals.

Now, Gunn has discovered armor from the south, indicating Claudio and the Second Son Alliance can't hold back either, joining the fight for the Golden Valley.

This land is known across Bratis Continent for its fertility and wealth, although it's now somewhat desolate due to bandits and warfare.

Yet, if a new ruler can restore peace and address the bandit problem, it wouldn't be long before it becomes the Empire's granary again.

But for Allister and Claudio, claiming the Golden Valley won't be easy.

The simplest way to advance into the Golden Valley is through Elk Valley; otherwise, they'd have to climb mountains, which is manageable for small units but challenging for a grand army, especially with food supply issues.

This is what Miss Rabbit doesn't quite understand: how did Claudio deliver those weapons and armor to the Golden Valley?

Li Yu said, "We have dealt with Tristan, the Family Head of Pangluosi Family before. He is a smart man and quite flexible in his stance."

"You mean those weapons and armor were brought in by Tristan?"

"It's possible," Li Yu said. "Although Tristan still serves those Wing Tribe people, he might have secretly favored Claudio, creating goodwill, which aligns with the Pangluosi Family's style."

"But now, the weapons and armor Claudio struggled to bring in are in our hands," Ireya scratched her head, "Won't he have any objections to us?"

"Also, the recent Ilkand incident, I didn't follow the Second Son Alliance's demands, otherwise Claudio would likely have a force of at least five thousand in the Golden Valley by now, pairing well with these weapons, which seems quite formidable."

"Um... calculating this, it feels like our tension has grown too large. If Claudio really becomes the ultimate victor, won't he come after me for payback?"

"What then, should I go support Allister? But Allister is backed by the Life Church, and last time in the Royal Capital Cornelia wasn't friendly to us, and if Allister becomes emperor, he'd probably promote the goddess of Life's faith nationwide."

Ireya hadn't previously pondered too deeply; after all, those three factions couldn't reach the Western Territory however they fought, leaving Miss Rabbit free to watch from the sidelines.

But this time, Gunn's seizure of a batch of southern weapons made the Lady realize none of the three, regardless of who wins, seems ideal for her.

Li Yu suddenly asked, "Do you have a new candidate?"

"A new candidate?" Miss Rabbit paused, "Who else can compete with these three?"

Li Yu didn't answer this time, instead countering, "Do you have an answer for that previous question?"
