Chapter 168: "Insight" Trait (3)

"The school will conduct further research on these organizations. If any apprentice has a research interest in specific parts, they can apply for a limited amount of samples by paying the corresponding Magic Stones as per the regulations."

Hayek's words came like a timely rain—the school allowed participants to apply for the purchase of some samples.

For him, this was a godsend opportunity.

It wasn't to uncover any secrets, but simply for academic and research purposes.

After all, Bloodline Modulation has always been one of his key focus areas, and samples of Abyssal creatures' tissues are hard to come by in the Black Mist Jungle.

Moreover, the Scorpion-lion has been professionally dissected, with the functions of its parts clearly guided, making its research value immeasurable.

The acquisition of the [Insight] Trait also gave him an understanding of the Scorpion-lion's bloodline structure.

If he could bring part of the samples back to the workshop for research, perhaps he could find an ideal filling choice for the second consciousness core of the Chimera.

Even if the potential is insufficient and not integrated in the end, it can still serve as a data reference.

"Vice Dean, Sir."

Ron stepped forward proactively, his voice calm:

"I have a research interest in several parts of the Scorpion-lion and hope to apply to purchase samples."

Hayek raised his eyebrow slightly, clearly somewhat surprised by his proactive request, but not dismissive.

"Oh? Which parts are you interested in?"

A thought flashed through Ron's mind like lightning—he must not appear too greedy.

The most precious tissues are often those that the school most wishes to retain for research.

"Primarily the second heart, part of the poison gland, as well as a small amount of blood and tissue samples."

He responded calmly, his tone devoid of any excessive eagerness, driven solely by the normal needs of academic research:

"These parts have considerable reference value for my ongoing bloodline studies."

Hayek pondered for a moment, his gaze lingering on Ron for a few seconds, as if assessing something.

"The second heart is the core organ of the Scorpion-lion's Magic Power system, extremely valuable."

He pointed out seriously, his voice carrying no emotion, merely stating facts:

"Even as an arena champion, you need to pay a considerable number of Magic Stone Fragments."

"I understand, Sir."

Ron nodded in agreement: "For research, I am willing to pay the necessary price. The value of knowledge far exceeds material wealth."

Hayek glanced at Soron beside him, the latter nodding slightly in approval.

Between the two masters, they seemed to have used Spiritual Power to conduct some private transmission.

"As an arena champion, you indeed have the priority for application rights."

Hayek said slowly, his voice less harsh, more instructive:

"The Energy Core School needs to retain it for research, but the second heart can be given to you."

He paused, unconsciously stroking the sleeve of his robe, then added:

"But it requires paying twenty-five Magic Stone Fragments. The poison gland and other tissue samples will cost an additional fifteen."

Forty Magic Stone Fragments—Ron quickly calculated the cost and benefits of this transaction in his mind.

This price isn't cheap, but for the precious organs of abyssal creatures, it's already quite a favorable price.

After all, on the black market, such samples often sell for hundreds and often lack guaranteed purity and integrity.

"I accept this price." Ron didn't hesitate, casually taking out the Magic Stone Fragments he had prepared from his embrace.

As the arena champion, he had just received a reward of eight whole Magic Stones, which could be exchanged for more than eight hundred Magic Stone Fragments, more than enough to pay for this cost.

Hayek accepted the Magic Stone Fragments, lightly touching them with his fingertips, then nodded:

"I hope you gain from this. These tissues of abyssal creatures usually have extremely high activity, requiring special means for preservation and research."

He gestured for an assistant to pack the specified tissue samples into preservation containers.

The containers were semi-transparent milky white, engraved with runes specifically used to suppress energy leakage, effectively maintaining the activity of the samples and preventing rapid decay.

"I will arrange for someone to deliver the samples to your workshop."

Hayek added in a business-like manner:

"Remember, these samples are for personal research use only, and may not be transferred or used for other purposes at will."

"Certainly, Sir."

Ron responded respectfully: "I will strictly comply with the school's regulations."

This was no empty statement; he indeed had no intention of transferring these precious samples.

Every cell of these abyssal tissues was a valuable research material and a potential source of power.

After the transaction was completed, Ron noticed that several other participants also began submitting applications one after another.

But unlike him, most people's requests were concentrated on some lower-value peripheral tissues, as if just to acquire some memorabilia.

Only Trish also applied for a small part of the poison gland, her eyes flashing with a different light, evidently having her own research plans;

Holt, on the other hand, showed a strong interest in the skeletal structure, which was consistent with his identity as an Earth Magic expert.

What caught Ron's attention even more was that in the corner, a few apprentices he was not familiar with were also selecting certain specific tissues, eyes flashing with unsettling cold light and an unmistakable desire for transformation.

One of them even eagerly touched a small piece of muscle tissue with their fingers immediately after acquiring it, eyes filled with near-fanatical enthusiasm.

"It seems many people have a strong interest in this one-time biological transformation."

Ron assessed inwardly, "Their slaves are in for trouble."

Nevertheless, everyone has the right to choose their path, and no matter where that path leads, it has nothing to do with him. He will only care about his research and goals.

After the Anatomy Guide officially concluded, the apprentices began to leave one by one.

Ron finally confirmed the transport arrangements for the samples.

This time's gain surpassed expectations, not only acquiring the Stand-In Puppet, a precious Abyssal Treasure, but also successfully purchasing rare Scorpion-lion tissue samples, and even achieving a skill breakthrough during the dissection process.

Just as he turned around, he suddenly felt an elusive gaze fall on his back.
