Wizard: Stronger through Marriage

Chapter 238: Harvest Time (Part 2)

Some survivors from the Sea Cape Tower were even kneeling amidst the ruins.

"We won." David said softly.

But his voice sounded particularly pale in the silence.

Around them, the demon hunters were also silently somber, their eyes filled with complexity and heaviness.

Although they successfully defeated the Hell Mage and reclaimed the Sea Cape Tower, the cost of it all was unbearably high.

"We undeniably completed our mission, but we lost too much."

A wizard leader slowly said, his gaze heavy as he looked at the half-ruined tower.

"This is the most brutal side of wars between civilizations,"

Another high-tier mage added, "In order to survive and for hope, we had to confront those fallen."

David bowed his head in thought, those Hell Mages whose souls were devoured, no matter who they once were, turned to ashes at this moment.

They could have chosen a different path, yet due to greed or despair, they walked onto the road of no return with darkness.

"Perhaps this is what we need to ponder now." He finally spoke, "How to let more people understand the importance of hope instead of succumbing to despair and corruption."

As the sunlight gradually dipped in the west, the shadows on the ruins of the high tower grew deeper, and the demon hunters began organizing the post-war remains.

The demon hunters silently began clearing the battlefield, despite the sorrow and anger in their hearts, they knew they must restore order quickly.

They were tidying up the wreckage within the ruins, searching for survivors, and mourning their comrades who had sacrificed to defend against evil.

Every broken stone, every stray magic robe seemed to narrate the ruthlessness of this war.

David occasionally paused in his busy moments, gazing around.

These once splendid towers now lay in ruins, even victory came at a grave cost.

At that moment, an alliance leader approached, his expression solemn but with a glimmer of admiration in his eyes.

"David." His tone was steady, "In this battle, you showcased extraordinary abilities. I must admit, the power of the elemental barrier you wielded exceeded our imagination."

David was slightly surprised; he did not expect the alliance leader to acknowledge his contributions so directly.

"I just did what I should have done, nothing worthy of praise."

"But did you know?" Another high-tier mage interjected, "Many have never witnessed such a powerful elemental barrier."

"Not only did you concentrate your power to defend against attacks, but at a crucial moment, you turned it into offense, effectively changing the course of battle."

"Four-Ring Hell Mage."

"Even the Speaker did not have to act, and you already ended the battle."

"With the power of a Third-Ring Mage, successfully defeating a Four-Ring Hell Mage, you created a miracle."

The words of the high-tier mage led to nods from some demon hunters nearby, their eyes of admiration gradually turning into a form of reverence.

In this harsh and severe era, possessing such power is not just a measure of strength but a symbol of status.

"These are what I should do." David smiled.

In the following period, the Haiwang Corner Alliance began a comprehensive purge of the Hell Mages throughout the Haiwang Cape Sea Region.

Once everything was over, the Haiwang Corner Alliance Branch held a passionate commendation.

The commendation meeting was held on a makeshift square, surrounded by demon hunters and survivors assembling together.

Although the Sea Cape Tower had turned into ruins, it was filled with new hope.

Sunlight streamed through the clouds, casting warm glimmers and adding a gentle hue to the commemoration and celebration.

The alliance leaders sat on the platform in turn, with David at the forefront.

Beside him were other outstanding demon hunters, whether they were vanguards in battle or those providing support and planning from the rear.

Despite experiencing fierce battles, they remained spirited and resolute.

The meeting began, a high-tier mage stood up and spoke with a loud and fervent voice: "Today, we gather here to commend those who devoted their heart and life to the Haiwang Corner Alliance and Sea Cape Tower! We went through an arduous war but successfully drove the dark forces from our land!"

The floor resounded with enthusiastic and continuous applause, not only a tribute to the sacrifices but also sincere praise for everyone involved in this war.

"Especially David, he reversed the situation with his power, defeating the Four-Ring Hell Mage with his Third-Ring Mage status, this is not only a victory of personal strength but a victory for all of us." Another alliance leader continued, "Today, we will award David the title of Glory Mage to acknowledge his outstanding performance in this battle."

Upon hearing the news, a wave of warm applause erupted around.

David was slightly amazed, knowing the significance and value of this honor.

"I am honored to receive this title." David said, his words firm and filled with emotion: "But I must say, this glory belongs to everyone involved in this war. Without you, my success would not exist. Against darkness, it was our unity and brave advancement that made all this possible."

His speech evoked resonance, with demon hunters nodding to express their agreement, each face showing pride and self-satisfaction.

They knew that at such moments, they were more than just synonymous with demon hunters, but a belief and a hope.

Then, each department began to honor the outstanding members one by one.

Some were warriors who courageously charged forward, some were groups silently contributing in rear support, and others offered strategic advice at crucial moments.

After the commendation ended, the Haiwang Corner Alliance Branch convened a meeting for the next step plan, as the threat of the Ice Hell was far from over.

The Grand Speaker said to David: "We have decided to appoint you as the Haiwang Corner Alliance's combat commander, responsible for future rebuilding work and wizard training."

"Thank you, Speaker." David replied.

This time he had fully displayed his strength and contributions; entering the alliance leadership was unsurprising.

With his promotion, the alliance leaders provided him abundant resources, including all needed by the wizards, magic materials, research facilities, and manpower support.

He was entrusted with a new mission, not only to train a new generation of demon hunters but also to develop stronger defenses and offensive arrays based on this to counter possible future threats.

In the following days, David began focusing on the rebuilding tasks.

He utilized all the experience gained from the battle, set up elemental barriers based on elemental barrier.

Under his leadership, many young wizards were attracted, eager to learn the power of arrays to enhance their strength.

Although the Haiwang Cape Sea Region greeted a short period of peace, the threat always lingered.

From the latest information obtained by the Wizard Alliance, these Hell Mages had now hidden in the Deep Sea Region, possibly conspiring with the Sea Race on something.

To combat possible crises, David led the demon hunters to guard the borders of the Deep Sea Region.

Conveniently, the area he was responsible for was near Azure Island, allowing him to rightfully protect his territory.

With the current stable situation, David went to the Bright Continent to bring back the witches.

Relying on the extensive resources obtained during the war and the witches' terrifying wizard talent, the speed of strength enhancement was very fast.

This period, the witches had begun to break through to the Tier One Wizard Level.

Like Liya, Amy, Reina, and Cynthia, had started striving towards Second-Ring Mage.

David also began constant dual cultivation with the witches, enhancing his wizard talent level.
