Wizard: Starting as a Lord Marrying a Wife

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: A Promise to Take Responsibility

"It actually works!"

"Every time I cultivate with her, I gain one point in bloodline strength."

David's face was lit with excitement.

"If I can do this a hundred times, my bloodline strength will reach Tier 2!"

Bloodline strength was something innate—fixed at birth. Yet, through this peculiar method, he could gradually enhance his bloodline, raising the upper limits of his power.

Moreover, the stronger his bloodline became, the more effective his Frostwolf Breathing Technique would be, accelerating his cultivation progress.

"It seems I'll need to make time every day to… 'connect' with Leah," David thought, glancing tenderly at the girl curled up in his arms, fast asleep.

This girl had not only made him a real man but also helped him awaken his dormant bloodline. No matter what, he was determined to treat her well.

"But I wonder… how many people this system can bind to?"

"And what factors determine the cultivation results? Are the rewards fixed at one point per session, or can they increase?"

These questions lingered in David's mind. The system had only just awakened, and there was still much to explore.

The next morning, Leah sat curled up in the corner of the bed like a frightened rabbit.

Seeing the girl's trembling figure, David felt a pang of guilt.

Yesterday, his excitement at discovering the system had gotten the better of him, causing him to neglect her feelings entirely. It was clear she had been overwhelmed.

"I'm sorry… I lost control yesterday," David said sincerely.

Leah blinked in surprise, clearly not expecting an apology from the lord himself.

"Master David, I… I'll help you get dressed," she stammered, mustering her courage.

Though tasked with the monumental duty of continuing the Frostwolf lineage, Leah knew her position was ultimately that of a servant. As someone from a humble background, she understood the importance of knowing her place.

"There's no need," David said softly. "You worked hard yesterday, and I know it must be uncomfortable for you after… everything. I can handle it myself."

"Master David…" Leah's voice trembled, a mix of shyness and gratitude.

She hadn't expected him to be so considerate—not only apologizing but also showing concern for her well-being and emotions.

After dressing, David called in two maids to assist Leah. Seeing the girl's nervous expression, he instructed the maids, "From now on, the two of you will be responsible for taking care of the lady."

The maids nodded quickly, though their glances at Leah carried a hint of envy.

"Master David…"

Leah's eyes stung with unshed tears. She had never dared to hope for anything, yet now she found herself deeply moved by his kindness and thoughtfulness.

When Leah was fully dressed and presentable, David took her hand and led her to the dining hall for breakfast.

"This is Butler Kevin," David introduced.

Leah hastily performed a clumsy curtsy. "Good morning, Butler Kevin."

"Good morning, Miss Leah," the butler replied with a polite nod, guiding them to the dining table.

David took his seat at the head of the table and glanced at the seat to his right.

Kevin paused for a moment, his expression betraying a flicker of surprise before he pulled out the chair to David's right.

Leah didn't understand the significance of this seat but could sense the butler's attitude toward her had grown more respectful. She silently resolved to fulfill her duty and give David an heir as soon as possible.

After breakfast, David instructed the maids to help Leah rest, while he headed to the castle's training grounds to continue practicing the Frostwolf Breathing Technique.

Though the system could enhance his bloodline, improving his knightly strength would still require his own effort.

Not long after, the Grey Wolf Knight entered the training grounds and stopped in his tracks, his eyes widening in disbelief as he watched David train.

"The Frostwolf Breathing Technique!"

"That's the genuine Frostwolf Breathing Technique!"

"How is this possible? How can Master David practice the Frostwolf Breathing Technique?"

A near-impossible thought suddenly flashed through the knight's mind:

Had Master David awakened the Frostwolf bloodline?

But how? After ten years of no progress, why would he suddenly awaken now?

As David completed a session of training, the knight couldn't hold back any longer and stepped forward, his voice tinged with urgency. "Master David…"

"Uncle Leo, I've successfully awakened the Frostwolf bloodline," David said with a smile, deciding not to hide the truth.

After all, he planned to walk this path to its fullest, and the Grey Wolf Knight, as the sole knight remaining at Frostwolf Ridge, was someone he trusted completely.

"Wonderful! The Frostwolf bloodline has returned to this world," the knight said with heartfelt joy. "If your father were still here, he would be so proud."

"I owe it all to you, Uncle Leo, for finding Leah," David said sincerely. "While it might not have been entirely because of her, I'm still deeply grateful to her."

The knight smiled, relieved that his efforts hadn't been in vain. Then, as if struck by inspiration, he hesitated briefly

before speaking.

"Master David, would you like me to… find a few more girls to assist you?"
