Chapter 10: Spiritual Vision
Misty Forest, Guardian Tower.
Morning time.
Lynch slowly walked out of the Tower and onto the lawn outside.
The daylight sun was a bit glaring, making him squint his eyes unconsciously.
This time of seclusion had lasted too long.
He wasn't quite sure exactly how long had passed.
A month?
A year?
Ten years? Or even longer.
Inside the Time Hut, there was no distinction between day and night, and under the distorted Time Force Field, one couldn't feel the passing of time, so he wasn't quite sure how long had passed.
In any case,
The only coordinate might just be the mark of strength, and his strength had leaped to the eighth Mystical Circuit.
He was now only one step away from the later stage of Mystical Circuits!
After a while, Lynch finally adapted to the outside light, and his eyes opened slowly.
At this moment, in his vision, the world seemed to have changed; the water was blue, the wind was green, the earth was yellow... From the distant mountains, rivers, and lakes to the near flowers, birds, fish, and insects, the different colors on them were clearly visible.
It was somewhat similar to the world under Elemental Vision, yet completely different; this was Spiritual Vision.
In the Wizard World, everything in existence contained Spirit, even a seemingly ordinary small stone by the roadside was filled with spiritual power.
The source of material Spirit is still unclear. Some wizards believe it is the Spiritual Field of living beings infecting the material, causing it to gestate spiritual power, which is the way ancient stories describe the birth of Mountain Gods, Tree Gods, Water Gods, and so on.
And some wizards believe that spiritual power is an inherent constant energy in this world; this energy can cling to any material, forming living beings when combined with things with souls, and simply bringing a layer of Spiritual Field to inanimate objects.
Perceiving spiritual power is a skill every wizard must master, starting from the apprentice period with dedicated training. As one's Perception Power increases, a wizard's sensitivity to spiritual power also increases.
But no matter how intensive the training was before, it could never reach the vibrant Spiritual Field like Lynch had before his eyes, being able to clearly distinguish the strength and sources of each spiritual power, etc.
This is the patent after clearing the eighth Mystical Circuit.
[Pure Circuit]
This is the name of this Mystical Circuit.
When this Mystical Circuit is connected, a wizard's Perception Ability towards spiritual power will be greatly enhanced, thus possessing the current [Spiritual Vision].
It seems... quite useless?
In terms of strength, compared to the previous Mystical Circuits, the Pure Circuit seems to have the least improvement, but this is only on the surface.
In fact, the real function of this Mystical Circuit might be bigger than all the previous Mystical Circuits combined!
Because this Mystical Circuit enhances the direction of cultivation.
The cultivation of a wizard, to put it simply, is the cultivation of spiritual power, continuously meditating and absorbing elements to enhance spiritual power, thereby gaining great Strength.
However, the element sources in this world are diverse, and when wizards meditate and absorb them, they inevitably also absorb some impurities into the Spiritual Sea.
Purifying spiritual power is something wizards continuously perform during cultivation, starting from the apprentice period and continuing even after advancing to Wizard, all the way through Mystical Circuits, Domains, Rules, and ultimately the Truth.
Yet purifying spiritual power is exceedingly difficult, and as one's Strength ascends, the difficulty of purification increases geometrically.
At this time, the value of Spiritual Vision is revealed.
With Spiritual Vision, a wizard can accurately locate the degree of impurity in their spiritual power, which kinds of spiritual power can be retained, and which need to be removed, greatly enhancing the efficiency of purifying spiritual power.
It can be said that Spiritual Vision is a crucial step in wizard cultivation moving forward.
"Spiritual Vision..."
Lynch looked around, observing the flow of spiritual power in the various materials within his Vision, seemingly gaining a new understanding of this world.
Is it that the world first had spiritual power, and then spiritual power gave rise to everything in the world?
Or was the material world first, and over long and lonely Time, Spirit was nurtured?
It's a topic worth pondering.
"Ah!"
Just then, a screech came from the sky.
Lynch immediately Perceived something, so he turned his head in a direction.
"Whoosh!"
A sharp wind-breaking sound came from that direction, and a distinct line of fire appeared high above the skies, splitting the sky full of white clouds apart as if a mass of fire was speeding towards him.
Only when the distance closed could the true nature of that fire be seen.
It was a dragon.
A dragon entirely engulfed in flames, only the size of a small dog, with a Forest Fairy riding on its neck.
It was Lynch's Magic Pet, Parker.
Parker raced straight towards Lynch from high in the sky, falling a hundred meters away like a meteor fireball from the heavens, creating a fiery radius of several tens of meters upon landing, scorching a large patch of ground.
Soon after, the flames quickly retracted into Parker's body, as it sprinted towards Lynch, shaking its head like a small dog leaping into its master's embrace, while Shea jumped off and flew quickly towards Lynch.
The two collided into Lynch's embrace, affectionately rubbing their heads against him.
"Alright, alright! You two, calm down!"
"It's not like we haven't seen each other for long."
Lynch was speechless too, these two little ones were like this, as if they couldn't be away from him, every time Lynch came out of seclusion, they greeted him with such enthusiasm.
Perhaps, as people say, in one's eyes, a Magic Pet is merely a part of one's world.
But in the eyes of a Magic Pet, you are their entire world.
After a while, Lynch managed to calm the two little fellows down, then his gaze fell on Parker.
At this moment, compared to before, Parker had undergone another new transformation in appearance.
The most noticeable being its scales.
The originally blackish-red scales had turned even redder, and upon closer inspection, each scale bore a flame-shaped pattern mark.
This wasn't an ordinary pattern mark but the [Dragon's Emblem] that only appeared on a true giant dragon, a Bloodline mark inherited from the generations of this powerful life form known as a giant dragon.
And creatures possessing such a mark naturally acquire the title:
Dragon!
