Wizard Lord:I can Extract Anything

Chapter 195: Chapter 195: The Recruitment of Grand Wizard Galon

The stone tablets of the Mountain Dwarfs resembled the inheritance crystal orbs of wizards, both of which were ancient methods of inscribing spiritual messages onto a medium, allowing others to view them using their mental power.

After using his mental force to probe the stone tablet, Richard quickly took note of the two inheritances contained within.

However, during this process, Richard found something troubling: both of these inheritances required a foundation in the basic principles of the Mountain Path to be learned. Simply obtaining the inheritance alone, with his current level, would likely be futile without spending centuries to extract anything useful.

His knowledge base was still too shallow. He could not yet digest alien knowledge as quickly as older wizards could, seamlessly incorporating it into their own battle systems.

Thus, Richard ultimately returned to square one—he would first learn the foundational "Tianxia" method.

As a wizard, Richard received exceptional treatment at the Changshan Monastery. Especially after enlightening the abbot, he was honored by all the monks in the temple. This allowed him plenty of time to freely observe the practices of the Mountain Dwarfs.

Once a Mountain Dwarf becomes a first-tier being, they regulate their energy cycle based on the inheritance they've learned. Through this energy modulation, each Mountain Dwarf develops their own distinct fighting style.

Some are quicker and more agile, while others possess great strength, reminiscent of martial arts from novels Richard had read in his past life.

Among them, Richard discovered a few had integrated mental attacks into their combat techniques, creating something akin to "fist intent."

With each strike, they unleashed both physical and mental blows.

Richard had never seen anything like this among the wizards he knew.

The medium-sized world was truly a place that required the combined efforts of multiple Grand Wizards to conquer.

---

Half a year later.

"Ha!"

Richard stood shirtless, his muscles taut as he swung a punch at a massive black boulder in front of him.

*Boom!*

A muffled sound echoed from the boulder, and when Richard retracted his fist, a clear imprint of his punch appeared on the surface.

*Clap clap clap...*

Behind him, a Mountain Dwarf dressed in a steel robe applauded and walked up beside Richard, respectfully saying, "Lord, you truly possess incredible talent. In just half a year's time, you've left a fist mark on the Mountain Essence using the Rock Crushing Fist. We are truly in awe."

Richard wiped his fist and said casually, "Master, it's just the Tianxia technique."

The Mountain Dwarf was the abbot of the Changshan Monastery and had reached the level of a third-tier being. The "fist intent" Richard had observed earlier was this monk's unique technique.

"Three months ago, my master said that to learn your Changshan Fist Intent, one must first master the Rock Crushing Fist. Now that I can leave a mark on the Mountain Essence, I wonder if this meets my master's standard?"

The abbot slightly lowered his head. "Of course it meets the standard, but…"

Seeing the abbot hesitate, Richard smiled and took a few modified sacrificial mushrooms from his pocket, handing them to him.

"Don't worry, Abbot. I have no interest in defaulting on our deal. I will honor the terms we agreed upon."

Though there were some spiritual evolutionaries among the Mountain Dwarfs, their constitution was far stronger than those of other worlds. Unlike other places where spiritual evolutionaries were weak, Mountain Dwarfs trained both body and mind, making their physical strength formidable.

While Richard wasn't interested in gravity manipulation, he realized it was a technique deeply tied to the Mountain Dwarfs' bloodline and required years of practice.

Even if mastered, the manipulation of gravity would only serve as a supplementary tool outside the unique environment of the Mountain World. It would be difficult to use it for direct combat.

The abbot, a spiritual evolutionary of the Mountain Dwarfs, had developed a deep interest in mental energy. After years of research, he had created the Changshan Fist Intent. However, this experiment had left his soul wounded.

Once Richard learned this, he exchanged the modified sacrificial mushrooms for the Changshan Fist Intent.

Wizards don't always resort to violence. If peaceful exchanges are possible, they are always preferred.

The abbot immediately consumed the mushrooms, and soon felt a relief as the pain in his head—an enduring affliction from his soul injury—lessened considerably.

He took a palm-sized stone tablet from his robes, reverently handing it to Richard before silently departing.

Richard placed the stone tablet in his pocket and headed towards the monastery's temple. After passing through a winding path, he arrived at a secret chamber. The Mountain Monk guarding the entrance gave him a respectful bow before opening the door.

The chamber was small, containing nothing but a deep well. At the bottom of the well, there was no water—only a pitch-black void.

As a well, it was clearly subpar, yet it led to the most mysterious place in the Changshan Monastery—the Heart of the Mountain.

According to the unique rules of the Mountain World, every mountain was, in a broad sense, alive. These mountains started as mere rises in the plains, but over time, they grew into the towering mountains the Mountain Dwarfs now inhabited.

The Mountain Dwarfs had discovered this secret and began to explore the hidden truths of the mountains.

The Heart of the Mountain was one of these secrets.

Richard leapt into the well, and his body began to plummet rapidly under the influence of gravity. After about ten minutes, he suddenly stopped, as if gravity had vanished at that moment.

Before him, a magnificent, shimmering heart appeared.

This heart was larger than a warship, made primarily of black Mountain Essence, with secret silver and refined gold forming its framework. Countless precious elemental gems were embedded in the heart, and lava flowed through golden veins, pumping in rhythm with a deep, resonant heartbeat.

However, these rare materials were not Richard's main concern. He was carefully studying the energy structure of the Heart of the Mountain using his energy vision.

He only stopped when blood tears began to flow from his eyes.

"Ha..." Richard wiped the blood tears away, switching his focus. "Grand Wizard Galon is truly generous to leave such a treasure behind."

The Heart of the Mountain, as the core of a massive mountain, represented a manifestation of the rules of the Mountain World. These rules were precious even to Grand Wizards.

Yet, Grand Wizard Galon had left it in the secret realm, even permitting visiting wizards to observe it.

Was this what it meant to be a Grand Wizard, so close to the truth?

Leaving the Heart of the Mountain, Richard returned to his quarters and took out a crystal ball to sketch a fragment of a rune.

He named the rune "Heart of the Mountain." He didn't know its exact effect yet, but with his thief-like instincts, he decided it would be wise to record it.

One could never be too cautious.

---

Time passed quickly, and another six months flew by.

During this time, Richard's understanding of the Mountain Path deepened under the guidance of the Mountain Dwarfs. He also began his preliminary training with the two secret techniques.

The Mountain Body Forge was a method used by the abbot to enhance physical strength and refine the body. It essentially involved regulating gravity, similar to the techniques used by the spiritual evolutionaries among the Mountain Dwarfs, but was easier and more detailed, requiring no specific bloodline.

More importantly, the elders of Changshan Monastery had recorded every situation where the Mountain Body Forge was applied, offering invaluable insights.

Sadly, for Richard, these records were of little use, as he was not a Mountain Dwarf.

However, the technique for controlling gravity using mental power was something Richard could attempt to learn.

As for the Mountain Breaking Fist, Richard still found it difficult to master.

This martial art was extremely complex, requiring the body's muscles, internal energy, and mental power to be unified in order to achieve the effect of breaking anything.

Richard had observed the abbot using the technique. The abbot had simply touched the Mountain Essence with his finger, reducing a massive piece the size of a grinding disc to the size of a pebble.

The Mountain Essence was only slightly softer than refined gold. Even Richard, using all his strength, would struggle to replicate what the abbot did with just a finger.

The year-long period had ended, and Richard had to leave Changshan Monastery and return to the Wizarding World.

Before departing, Richard left behind some alchemy tools and Aldo Mushrooms at the monastery.

Perhaps someday, he would return to the Mountain Secret Realm, and investing a small amount of money to cultivate relationships there seemed like a very profitable deal.

Leaving the secret realm, Richard waved at Jimmy, who was grinning widely.

"Master Jimmy, long time no see..."

Before Richard could finish his sentence, something strange occurred to his body as he entered the Wizarding World. It felt as though he were a black hole, drawing in all the magic energy in the arena.

Since Richard had maintained a flying state during his time in the Mountain World, even while meditating, he had consumed considerable magic stones. However, this had also caused some strange changes in his body.

These changes, subtle in the Mountain Secret Realm, became evident as soon as he returned to the Wizarding World.

His disturbance caught the attention of many. A figure appeared beside Richard and gently tapped him.

At that moment, Richard felt an immense force seal his body.

"Returning to low gravity conditions and reacting so strongly... You've done quite well in developing your life core, kid."

The person who sealed Richard's body praised him, and when Richard saw his face, he immediately gave a wizard's bow.

"Greetings, Minister!"

Grand Wizard Galon smiled and patted Richard, then turned to Jimmy. "Jimmy, what's his name? His wizardry is quite interesting."

Jimmy immediately responded, "Minister, his name is Richard, from the Black Tower Wizard Academy. As for his wizardry... Sorry, Minister, this club doesn't require registration."

Grand Wizard Galon waved his hand. "No registration? It's fine, I'll go speak with the Black Tower."

He turned back to Richard and, with a slightly encouraging tone, said, "Richard, your development of the life core is on the right path. If you wish to delve deeper into this field, you may choose to join the Galon Wizard Academy. Just find Jimmy when the time comes."

With that, Grand Wizard Galon vanished from the arena.

"Galon Wizard Academy..." Richard murmured, "Is this a recruitment?"
