Wizard Lord:I can Extract Anything

Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Deployment Clause

After witnessing the power of the Spell Support Vehicle, Richard also demonstrated its mobility and off-road capabilities. These seemingly minor details greatly pleased the corps commanders. As seasoned war veterans, they understood the importance of mobility.

Impressed by Richard's data, the deal was quickly finalized. Vladimir took the opportunity to mock the wizards present.

As an elder wizard with enough experience and exceptional skill, Vladimir's remarks were something the corps leaders had to endure.

Unlike the Black Wizards, the White Wizard Corps valued not just power but also experience. A sufficiently old wizard might have participated in dozens of planar wars. Even if their power wasn't the strongest due to various reasons, their battlefield experience was invaluable.

Sometimes, even the corps commanders sought advice from such individuals for strategic decisions.

Richard did not involve himself in the detailed negotiations of the deal; instead, he left it to Jolord. Although he was one of the guild's leaders, his youth and inexperience meant he could easily be outmaneuvered in negotiations with wizards who were thousands of years old.

Knowing one's limitations is a virtue, so Richard wisely left these troublesome matters to his teacher and returned to his wizard tower to await the profits.

The cost of producing one Spell Support Vehicle wasn't cheap. The material costs alone were about 500 magic crystals. Factoring in Richard's craftsmanship, his price expectation was 800 magic crystals. However, the final price Jolord could negotiate depended on his skills.

With a profit margin of 300 magic crystals per vehicle, ten vehicles would yield 3,000, and a hundred vehicles would bring in 30,000.

This calculation didn't even include the profits from selling the casting and magical components.

As Richard calculated his future income, a smile crept onto his face.

Days of financial strain were coming to an end.

...

In the laboratory, Richard focused intently on the lens of the magic microscope, meticulously etching runes onto the rune base plate with magic.

After discovering the Forerunner Rune One, Richard had to redo all the rune base plates and components he previously made. However, with experience and only needing to re-engrave the runes, his second attempt was smooth, completing most of the work in just three months.

The piece before him now was the most complex and crucial of all the rune base plates.

Once completed, the rest of the work would proceed without major obstacles.

The needle-thin magic point moved cautiously across the rune base plate, leaving microscopic marks invisible to the naked eye.

These marks weren't just surface-level; for complex runes, magic had to penetrate deep into the base plate to complete the etching.

But this was routine for Richard.

His face calm, Richard controlled the magic needle with steady mental power. As the needle left the final mark on the rune base plate, a faint magical wave emanated from it.

"Whew, it's done."

Richard exhaled, a smile on his face.

He had fully grasped the mental message compression technology from his trade. Once he completed the mental power amplification device, he could communicate with the Nightmare World and even control his dream world avatar.

Soul control over the soul seed was essentially a special form of mental messaging.

Buzz!

A magical wave emanated from the next room.

Richard entered to find his communication crystal ball glowing. Checking the message, he learned that the transaction details were finalized.

After three months of negotiations, the first order for the Richard · Jolord Guild was secured.

Without delay, Richard headed to the Frost One Corps base, where Vladimir awaited him at the entrance.

"Kid, you made a good profit this time," Vladimir said with a smile.

"It's all thanks to your recommendation, Master," Richard replied humbly.

Vladimir shook his head, "This isn't my doing. No matter how much I praise your work, the corps wouldn't adopt it if it weren't good.

Besides, no White Wizard would dislike a good alchemical weapon. Any other wizard would do the same."

Vladimir, though old-fashioned, was honest. He never hesitated to praise and recommend quality work, believing it deserved recognition.

Inside the base, Richard entered a marble building resembling a church. The pristine marble was adorned with intricate carvings. Inside, frescoes depicting the corps' achievements immediately caught Richard's attention.

"This is the corps' reception hall, used only for new recruits and significant events," Vladimir explained.

"The frescoes on the walls..."

Richard felt a sense of irony seeing the heroic white-robed wizards and grotesque alien creatures.

Wizard expeditions were invasions, yet the frescoes portrayed them as saviors.

One could only wonder about the nature of White Wizard education.

"Ahem, these are the work of a past corps commander," Vladimir said awkwardly. "Some compassionate new wizards can disrupt morale and harmony during wars.

So, a past commander created these frescoes, educating each new recruit about wizards saving the world."

"Saving the world?" Richard's eyebrow twitched. "They'll figure it out on the battlefield."

Vladimir chuckled, "Sometimes, people just need an excuse.

Besides, we never said who we were saving. To those preyed upon by alien creatures, aren't we saviors?"

"...Makes sense."

Following Vladimir, Richard arrived at a conference room. Inside, a large round table was flanked by the three corps commanders, with Jolord lounging on a chair.

Seeing Richard, Jolord eagerly approached.

"Ah, Richard, you're finally here. We were waiting for you."

As they spoke, Jolord discreetly sent a mental message to Richard.

"Don't alter the contract. I'll explain any unclear parts later."

With that, Jolord and Richard took their seats.

Commander Andre produced a scroll, presenting it to Richard.

"Master Richard, this is the contract we finalized with Master Jolord. See if anything needs amending."

Another commander joked, "Even between mentor and student, accounts must be clear. Master Richard, review it carefully."

Despite their psychological tactics, Richard remained unfazed.

After reviewing the contract, he returned it to Andre.

"I have no issues."

The commanders exchanged glances, seemingly wanting to say more. But Jolord interjected.

"Since Richard has no objections, let's sign the contract. We've dragged this out for three months, and your time is surely more valuable than that of a second-circle wizard like me."

Seeing no alternative, the commanders signed the contract with their true names, followed by Richard.

As the contract turned to ash, the alliance between the Richard · Jolord Guild and the Frost One, Two, and Three Corps was officially sealed.

Richard had 300 years to deliver 500 Spell Support Vehicles. The Frost Corps would purchase each for 850 magic crystals. Additionally, Richard had to train the White Wizard Corps' alchemical wizards in emergency vehicle repairs.

Furthermore, Richard had to serve as a technical advisor, accompanying the Frost Corps on inter-world expeditions.

Frankly, this clause was the most baffling to Richard.

Why did he need to accompany them on expeditions?

This money was hard-earned.

However, seeing Jolord and the commanders negotiate for three months, the clause likely held special significance.

After signing the contract, the commanders hosted a banquet. High-ranking members from all three corps attended, and the feast featured a dazzling array of rare magical beast dishes, much to Richard's satisfaction.

"Why aren't you eating more?"

Jolord approached Richard, his glass filled with amber-colored wine exuding a rich aroma.

Richard stood on the terrace, smiling awkwardly.

"Some masters keep introducing their juniors to me."

Jolord paused, then laughed heartily.

"That's a good thing, isn't it?"

Richard looked annoyed, "Teacher, I have a partner!"

"The little one under Susanna, right," Jolord waved dismissively. "You don't understand wizard family values yet.

Wizard families prioritize bloodlines. They believe that an exceptional wizard's bloodline contains unique traits.

Having designed the Spell Support Vehicle, these families see you as outstanding, so they push their juniors your way, hoping for offspring.

As for having a partner... hmph."

Jolord sneered, "They don't care. As long as you don't demand those seed-gatherers stay, they'll vanish after completing their task."

"...Sounds disgusting," Richard said after a pause.

"Hence why wizard academies are the future," Jolord replied calmly. "Wizard families are inefficient. Breeding among wizards can't match the speed of finding talent among mortals.

The remaining wizard families are just corpses not yet decayed."
