Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 28: The Origin of the Civilization Devourer

The Monster World is a magical Great World, where its internal ghostly rules make this world incredibly bizarre.

In this world, everything seems to be able to be visualized and exaggerated.

For example, Richard's inquiry at this moment, his attitude is embodied as a shadow almost like a demon.

On this shadow, the presence of the Dominator presses down on all creatures present like a mountain. Even the bats and crows flying around the castle vanished at this moment.

"The fact that you can ask this question means you already know the answer." The old ape Elder replied with some difficulty.

"That black mud monster has been breaking the seal for so long, it's about time to start making trouble."

Upon hearing this, Richard smiled slightly.

"It seems you are indeed avoiding the Civilization Devourer."

Behind him, the demon-like shadow retracted, and the oppressive feeling in the air dissipated accordingly.

"You just said you also work in historical inquiry?"

"Yes."

"I want to learn about the Civilization Devourer's past, do you have it here?"

"We have, but not much."

"What cost?"

The old ape Elder shook his head: "This is free. All information on that black mud monster is free from us."

Richard showed a hint of surprise on his face.

"You have a grudge against him?"

The old ape's face showed a trace of anger, his body turned red.

"That bastard over three hundred epochs ago wanted to devour us. If we hadn't run fast, now you should be able to see us in those remnants of the past."

Saying that, the old ape Elder pulled out a flying carpet from his beard.

"Come on, Wizard, you are a guest, staying here is not our way of hospitality."

Richard glanced at the few grotesque Ghost Craftsmen behind him, then threw the puppet over.

"This thing is nice."

The Master took the puppet, then nodded and bowed towards Richard along with the surrounding Ghost Craftsmen.

"Haha, thank you, thank you."

Richard smiled, turned around, and sat on the flying carpet. After he sat on it, the old ape Elder made no movements, and the flying carpet started to move on its own, flying towards the blood moon in the sky with eyes.

Seeing Richard follow the old ape Elder away, the group of Masters finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"So scary, this outsider." Copper Nail said, clutching his chest. A brass heart in his chest almost jumped out.

"Nonsense, this guy is not simple at first glance." The Master said with a sigh of relief, "When have you ever seen the Elder give something away for free?

Even with those two Divine Kings of the gods, the Elder didn't spare a penny."

"... Big brother, the Elder did give things away for free before."

The Master looked to his left, where a snow-white creature that looked like a snowman was standing.

"Third brother, when were those stingy Elder folks so generous?"

The Third Master waved his branch-like arm, seemingly calculating something.

A moment later, he replied: "Just over a hundred epochs ago, and the Elder didn't give to just one person for free, but to three people."

"Three!?"

"Yes, just three. At that time, big brother, you were asleep, so you didn't know about this."

The Third Master waved an arm, and the snowflakes on his body instantly formed a picture in the air.

In the picture, a giant figure, a tiny figure, plus a crystal are flying towards the moon.

...

In the sky, Richard, approaching the increasingly close blood moon, only felt that the sense of rule constraint on his body was becoming stronger and stronger, to the point where his appearance began to change.

His black cloak started to deepen, the features under the hood became ferociously terrifying, and his four eyes glowed with a horrid blood light.

He appeared like a demon clad in a cloak.

However, this was just an appearance, a false face mutated by rules, his essence had not changed in the slightest.

However, only someone like him, as a Dominator, could remain unchanged.

If it were an ordinary World Master, this rule would probably directly distort the body and even the soul for shaping.

The blood moon looked small from the ground, but as everyone knows, things appear larger when nearer and smaller when farther away.

In fact, this moon is a colossal object with a diameter exceeding a hundred kilometers, almost as large as Richard's true body.

The flying carpet approached the moon, and at the center of the moon's pupil, Richard saw a place that seemed like a village.

As the flying carpet landed, Richard immediately noticed the gravity of the surrounding space instantly reversing, switching from originally downwards to upwards.

That is, from the ground it would appear as if standing upside down in the sky.

Richard's pupils transformed, taking in all the surrounding rules. Around this blood moon, the gravity rules had been rewritten by someone.

He muttered to himself: "Ingenious means. The rule application skills of these Ghost Craftsmen probably surpass even the Crown Throne of Shaping Alchemy."

However, when you think about it, no matter how strong the two Crown Thrones of Shaping Alchemy are, their truths were only achieved less than three epochs ago. Even counting the years during their Great Wizard period, it's at most only a dozen epochs.

As for these Ghost Craftsmen, they've lived for at least ten epochs, and the lifespan of these Elders could easily stretch over hundreds of epochs.

Moreover, these beings can only act within the world itself, and to explore the outside, they rely on puppets. The rules within the world must have long been thoroughly studied by them.

Comparing clever rule-utilization skills with these guys is like brandishing a sword in front of the God of War, somewhat overestimating oneself.

Upon entering the village, a group of diverse Ghost Craftsmen were already gathered at the village entrance.

Seeing Richard, a stick-figure-like creature at the front spoke first, "Stranger Dominator, how should we address you?"

"Wizard. How should I address you, sir?"

"Just call me Blacksmith. Alright, Wizard, what do you want to forge?"

"I need to know what you can forge."

"Seems like you haven't made up your mind yet, huh," the stick-figure said leisurely, "but that's okay. I have a plan you can check out."

Saying that, the stick-figure's arm drew a drawer in the air. Then he pulled it out and took out a Supreme's Information Crystal.

"Over a million years ago, a little guy called 'Qi' ordered a hammer from me. I see you seem to be from the same race, so I imagine your needs might be similar."

Qi...

Upon hearing this name, Richard was startled; the former King of Titans had actually visited this world.

But when he thought about it, it made sense. The Monster World must have existed for an incredibly long time within this world community, so it wasn't surprising that the King of Titans had been here.

Taking the crystal, Richard absorbed the information within.

In the next moment, a slight helplessness appeared on Richard's face.

"I don't have that much Boundary Annihilation Stone."

"Not that much? If you don't have that much, we can tweak it a bit," the stick-figure said nonchalantly.

He carefully sized up Richard, then said, "This chain on you is nice; did you make it yourself?"

"Yes."

"Then you shouldn't be as extreme as that little guy 'Qi'. His weapons require nothing else, just hardness and weight."

Richard handed the crystal back to the stick-figure and suddenly changed the subject.

"I think we should talk about history first. The old ape told me you provide information on the Civilization Devourer for free."

"Yes, he's right."

The stick-figure turned, and the many creatures behind him made way for a path.

"If we're discussing history, let's talk inside. That black mud monster is quite capable; discussing its past risks being noticed by it."

Entering the village, Richard followed the stick-figure towards the village center. Along the way, the Ghost Craftsmen accompanying the stick-figure stared at Richard as if he were something strange.

Unable to stand the scrutiny any longer, Richard asked, "Why are you all looking at me like this? Is there something special about me?"

"Nothing much," replied a cloud-like creature, "it's the first time we've seen someone capable of integrating rules into their body like us."

Upon hearing this, Richard was shocked; he hadn't expected these Ghost Craftsmen to immediately discern that he had embedded rules into his Life Core.

The stick-figure called out to the Ghost Craftsmen, "Shoo, get back to what you were doing. Staring at him makes it look like we haven't seen outsiders for hundreds of epochs."

Having said that, he stopped before a house that seemed to be drawn with black markers.

The stick-figure opened the door and gestured for Richard to enter.

"Come in, Wizard."

The room's interior was extremely simple. Everything looked as if they were drawn by a child with a black marker.

However, with Richard's Eye of Truth activated, he could see through the essence of these things - they were masses of entangled rules.

Every black line here was as complex in its rules as an entire world.

The stick-figure closed the door and casually drew Richard a chair before starting the main discussion.

"Regarding that black mud monster, we have to trace back four million years. At that time, this world community had just formed after the group death of star whales in the Star Realm, with only a few budding civilizations in their pioneering agrarian phases.

Thinking back now, that was truly a wonderful era."

Hearing this, Richard frowned slightly.

"Blacksmith, aren't you're going too far back with your tracing?"

"Too far? No, no, no, not at all," the stick-figure shook his head and chuckled, "because during that time, the black mud monster traversed the Black Domain between world communities and arrived here."

Traversed... the Black Domain!?

Hearing this, Richard was suddenly shocked.

The Black Domain refers to the void space between world communities, where there is nothing except for ether and occasional Star Realm creatures.

If the Civilization Devourer had come from the Endless Dimension, it wouldn't have surprised him so much.

After all, in the Endless Dimension, one could accelerate speed to beyond ten thousand times the speed of light. With enough luck, you could indeed encounter a world community.

But if he came from the Star Realm, then the Black Domain between world communities would be an immense barrier even the Star Realm Master would find difficult to cross.

"Are you sure it came from the Star Realm?" Richard asked incredulously.

"I am very sure," the stick-figure replied with absolute certainty.

"Because at that time, this guy was extremely weak, his body almost turning into ether."
