Wizard: Adventures in Two Worlds

Chapter 242: 111 Magic Flying Carpet (Please Collect)_3

"Luckily you introduced me to the Starfall Secret Society; otherwise... shall we carry out missions together?"

"It depends," Carl replied, returning from his reverie. "We'll see when the time comes."

"Right," Amy nodded and added, "I'm definitely going to act with you."

Carl raised an eyebrow.

This young girl's trust in him seemed a bit excessive.

The mission list provided by the Alliance covered most of Kolon's high-ranking military officers and nobility. Everyone picked and chose, selecting two Earls as their targets.

The generals were not to be chosen. They generally lived within the military camps, heavily guarded by troops, along with accompanying firepower thieves and Wizard Apprentices. Moreover, the generals themselves were not weak. Attempting to assassinate them was not only difficult but also dangerous.

Being too far away didn't work either. By the time they gathered enough manpower to act, the news might have spread, and the other party would be prepared. Furthermore, the farther they were from Gando, the more likely they were to encounter mishaps on the return journey. After all the sifting, there were not many suitable targets left.

"Carl!"

Du Lu looked up. "You're moving with me."

Carl raised an eyebrow, instinctively looking towards Hibell. He didn't interact much with Du Lu, yet there were many who wanted to move with this Advanced Wizard Apprentice. Calling him obviously meant taking care of him on purpose.

Indeed. Hibell responded with a knowing smile. Clearly, she had specifically asked Du Lu to look after Carl.

After the main meeting, Carl, Amy, and a few others gathered in a corner of the room, discussing in low voices.

Du Lu gathered the group. Pointing at a portrait on the table, he said, "Our target is Bob, the son of Duke Willy, one of the three major Dukes of Kolon, and an Earl. Since he's been made an Earl, it means he can't inherit the Duke's position and probably isn't valued highly by the Duke. However, Bob himself is a Great Knight, holding significant prestige within Kolon's military, so he cannot be underestimated. Also, he currently resides in the city, without many troops, which is very beneficial for our operation."

"Big Brother Du Lu," Amy raised her hand. "When do we make our move?"

"My plan is the sooner, the better," Du Lu said, pulling out a map and tapping a spot on it. "We first head to Luo Ta City to meet up with Gando's operatives there, and then plan our next steps."

Everyone nodded.

"Next, everyone prepare your things. I'll be setting off the day after tomorrow. If possible, those of us traveling together should stick together as much as possible," Du Lu continued. "If you have other matters to attend to, then we'll rendezvous in Luo Ta City in half a month."

Half a month?

Carl stroked his chin.

That should be enough time!

「Divine Domain Fragment.」

Carl sat cross-legged in the very center of the Artifact Refining Room. Around him, strands of dark red of various thicknesses filled the floor, occupying the entire room. These strands were the fruits of his recent labors. After the monstrous birds of Flame Island died, they left behind a pile of fluff, which were extremely rare artifact materials. Following the Wizard's methods, Carl re-processed these fluffs, and after a long time, he achieved the current results.

"Let's begin!"

Stabilizing his mind, he took a Potion that could temporarily increase spiritual power, and Carl's eyes sharpened.

Lesser Mage's Hand!

"Rise!"

A slender thread slowly floated up, controlled to form a strange curve, and quietly hovered.

"The first one!"

Carl held the Magic Wand, waved it gently, and another thread flew off the ground, stopping in mid-air.

"The second one!"

"..."

"The seventy-third one!"

With the increasing number of threads, a Magic Circuit made of numerous threads appeared in mid-air.

Floating Technique!

Carl was actually refining a Magic Flying Carpet! If anyone else were present, they would surely scoff at his overestimation of his abilities. After all, the Magic Flying Carpet is an Advanced Magic Item, traditionally only crafted by Official Wizards. Maybe an Advanced Wizard Apprentice skilled in Alchemy could craft Advanced Magic Items, but that doesn't include a Magic Flying Carpet. Because crafting a Magic Flying Carpet demands extremely stringent requirements on spiritual power, something Wizard Apprentices simply cannot achieve.

Crafting a Magic Flying Carpet requires inscribing thousands of Magic Circuits in one go. This must be done without breaks or errors; otherwise, it would all be in vain. Just maintaining the Mage's Hand for such a long period is not easy. Moreover, controlling the threads to weave the carpet is a very meticulous task. The fact that, historically, crafters of Magic Flying Carpets have been female Wizards proves this point.

But... I'm different!

His eyes sharpened.

In the Divine Domain Fragment, I have precise control over my spiritual power, able to fulfill the requirements with minimal consumption. Others need years to construct the Magic Models I can complete in days in the Spiritual Inner Sea. The same goes for the Magic Flying Carpet! Moreover, having previously taken Potions like Light of Wisdom and others, my spiritual power can slowly recover and become more resilient over a certain period. Theoretically, it is possible to complete the weaving of the carpet.

Time slowly passed.

"The six hundred sixty-seventh one!"

The threads, long and short, must be correct in sequence, and the weaving becomes more complex as it progresses.

Crafting this Demonized Item had several demands. First, it required strong spiritual power; second, powerful concentration; and third, experience in weaving. And that's not to mention the extreme rarity of the materials themselves.

The many limitations mean there are very few within the Official Wizard Realm who can craft a Magic Flying Carpet.

"The one thousand, eight hundred and first one!"

"The one thousand, eight hundred and second one!"

"..."

Time seemed to have passed for several hours, or perhaps several days, and the Magic Flying Carpet was gradually taking shape.
