Chapter 27: 24 diagnosis
"Just barely awake and alive." His cold hands at her neck holding her up with another person. The sweet orange blossom smell was an unforgettable fragrance her mother wears. The bathroom door open of her brother with more remedies. So she looked at trying to fathom if this wasn't her brother holding her head up, who was it? She is having face blind at the moment and time moved in waves. They all slow down and speed up very quickly. Plenty of folks will stop by for some opinions from those around her but turn away to get on working in the vast information. A little blacken liquids from her mouth and she got herself to sit up. She draw in one knee to lean on. Makes efforts to breath easier again.
"There maybe some missing chucks of her inside and out but she healthy otherwise. Rather instead this falls to something no one has research into. At best maybe a Seer will have better clue."
"Don't worry about it. I am still holding on." She ridges up some effort in speaking, "Those peices are far away but without them holding place, I am not able to stay human." She attempts to get up from the tube but a cold hand is stronger at pulling her back into it. She has no choose but to lay back in the water having focus in breathing correctly.
"Why have missing peice of yourself?"
"Filling in gaps in the cog ranker names." She waved and the book opens at those set pages, "In order for them to keep going, I gave them a part of me. Without them, more laws will have slipped and when time reverts. It would have been in larger laspes of scales. But I warned them, this was borrowed time. When I am gone, they need to have found something else to rely on. Most have... peices come back to me. Some were unable to continue, not only lost from the cog ranker pages but been moved entirely to new tome sections. I don't know their condition and those fragments of me were lost. But those lost fragments come back on their own, I rely in my own strength to do so." She takes a deep breath in which made the flow of the liquid in the tube alter many times. She endured the pains and was better enough again.
"You never should have substitute you own soul fragments in others! I hate you enough to have problems in you normally." The book in crow form hissed and spat. She rolled eyes in not caring. But now the bird was stiffened up in how much a threat she is now. Before it assumed she was speaking empty threats about the damage she could cause the tome. Now it knew why she could be erased in those only book of cog ranker. It filtered through in putting thought for what would happen to these essential names going missing, "Bitting the hand that holds your only lifeline." It recalls her saying before. It seem as a worthless human saying. Now... now it knew. The tome of broken breaks into the page figures and act in a hive of motions. It was tossing things from her shadow inventory. It was some stuff it opened into the tube and stuff it organised in her storage. Her mask was brought out and tossed into the tube. She instinctively puts it on then letting herself drown. The creaks in the mask surface dripping of black liquids, the source of her blacken liquids was that her own shadow side was bleeding too. The black in hitting the water alters its colours to many hues of blue an purple. She broke the mask in removing the lower mouth area, letting it sink underneath the bath water. She was afraid of the natural shape to scare people.
"Eliza! Why did you do that?" Her brother panic in lifting her hamd with the half her mask out the water.
"A god slayer can change its shape as it wishes. Remove things and add things to suit the adapt environment." She gets it back under, "There is other creatures like them, mistaken as one. They however eat broken aspects. This universe is quiet full of them just slightly leering out of reach. They are waiting for the big fish to leave the pond. But soon they will be impatient. Soon it will not matter if I am here or not." She pointed to her brother, "Break the jar at the top of the fridge. Smash it across the floor or something." Not to long indeed a just was smashed. She waved at the two books and they swap pages with each other. She spat out a little blood and drool. Once the books settled there a lot of confused turned heads, "You need access to that place to find the crime scene." Curiosity quick to have a bird sent. It was going to be a while for the undertakers to get through that. At no will of her own, she stood up and throw something. Whatever she thrown torn a gateway in the path of it. She collapses back down caught in other people and laying back in the tube of liquids.
"How do you hide a entire realm?" Her brother asking with holding one her drawings, it was changing with the vast amount of undertakers searching through uncovering corpses after corpses.
"Eater? You have adapted to be a eater?" Curiosity ponders.
"The multiverse corridors fear me but I do have a duty in what I do. Just as God slayers stop gods accessing realms they shouldn't be. Occasionally you need realms to not meet boarders. Or that a dead universe need recycling. There is perpetual systems in everything, but they way they are done is what nature would call a nightmare. If nature causes slow decay to spread energy. The universes are to large for such things. Eaters break down these things in smaller chunks. Each eater unique to what they eat. I eat soul names and tomes. I do so in order to recycles the names, languages and spread of souls. I don't actually eat souls or even realms." She lifted her lower mask out of the water. Pages spat from there and float in being added into the broken tome. She flicked her hand again, throwing deathly accurate in another something from the torn gate. It was around this time that a scream was sounded through that tear, everyone around took cover. The screaming stops because the rip gate was pulled closed.
"If you had the chance to go back, back to the beginnings." Curiosity muttered, "Would you have change anything?" He held her chin up to stare into eyes.
"It wouldn't change anything at all." She partly spat blood since it blocked her from speaking. He looks at her deeply and there seems something behind the pain and sorrow in there. That there was defeated acceptance in what had been. She couldn't change nothing, she didn't have the connection or wavelengths. Not even the knowledge to go about preventing events of this universe decaying collapse. That as she looses more grasp of herself, the more things reported in of missing worlds, realms and souls torn out pages. Records uncovered in the corpses of those that tried to escape something. That realm she released was many keepers of tomes laying in hold of the broken tomes that protected. That her death and removal of her soul name was a chain reaction that has itself. Now... now as she was reborn, fall of everything began. Collapsed kingdoms of heaven and other orders of undertakers were slaughtered dens for God eaters to call home.
"Then I will go back." Curiosity let's her go, "You will know I done something right if I go by the nickname of Riddle." She coughed hard and most of her sense have given in. She also couldn't sit up on her own. She felt unease and drift. She thought that she was holding on but really form she was when she left this universe collapsed through itself, her soul name in all the peices vacuums helpless in being engulfed by an unsettled tide. Her ideas, memories and promises washed away too. Her presence across the multiverse in moments evaporated as steam off sun baked stones in a desert.
An undertakers duty is to make small changes to prevent things such as the case of Eliza. Preventing the abuse of creatures using humans to break the laws that stands as pillars.
In a long time since, she no longer was crying.
