Within Veiled Boundaries: Shroud Over Their Eyes.

Chapter 16: 15 Basic Salary

"Miss Marionette, what exactly happened to those Clothus?" His majesty asked, but it was that monotone that all dead have. He had nothing personal to dig from learning the answer, so there was no weave of emotions in the threads of his body. This is how she has worked out why her favorite carries a more adaptable ability to sound human. While this young undertaker is not quiet, he is not quite tuned his energy to his body completely and thus no mockary humanity. As per always, but it is more obvious in this state that he doesn't breathe out those words. They are as stable and stuck to the air with no echo tone or vibrations. Even computer speaks have static wasted sound, undertakers lack it.

"Clay bodies that mold around the soul that inhabitants it." She pondered the beginning of this conversation, "Clothus are humans in special clothing that protects them from neighbor universe laws. They are human bodies and soul or maybe even animal bodies and soul inside cloth wrapping. But you both stare that your face turns of clay and softly expressions that take time altered." She tilts at some passive moving energy that flutters in and out of strengths. She crossed her arms, "The ones who manifest from the world of dreams. They are no bodies. Just soul. But they shape the soul into a visible spectrum of body. They can't belong in a living land unless helped by the living features of living bodied beings such as humans. So essentially, dreams are also dead soul spirits but remade to exist in the central pin point of the universe. They use the living land to travel to the out edge and come back to the central place." She softly looked upon the unimpressed monarch that doesn't care for all this. Rather, it seems like total nonsense for him. She can tell that he makes this information useless. He will not care to recall this conversation, so she will make him.

"Every soul is the same make within a universe for as long as your soul was made there. You are part of the fabric of all these different layers of existence." She speaks like he does, and he at least shuffled uncomfortable, "But clothus are outsider. Souls from outside. Even as they try to make their bodies mark existence among the fabric, we make hand to hand. They carry broken laws and will not if in. The wrong puzzle piece to this one. They force themselves to fit and break it as they do." She softly reached forward and picked up that large sinner chain and tossed it about as if light weight. She makes it rattle sound. She stops and lets it down nicely, "They can't follow the law of living and dead. They both and not. They can't fit in, nor will they weave as long-term memory in humans. Mass of zombie corpse organs that are still barely functioning. They are wrapped in a cloth made of skins that they enslaved or murdered. Their soul is that of a dead human but trapped in the right amount of corpse that no god metal blade of the death court can remove them. They can't be judged by the crimes and law of this universe, thus unable to be removed from the shells they made. No, alive. No dead." She stands and turns at leaning to look into the monarchs eyes, "They may have lost some aspects of hold to this universe, appearing as if they died. But really, they just adapted to be like dream walkers. Laughing at you while you blindly looked at the remains before you." She twirls her fingers at the thinner chain that was at his chest, "Whatever promise you made within your heart is a going to be the fall to hell for you. The other end of this chain has been broken, which means they broken their promise. Ignorance of not knowing they broken their word." She let it free to the air as it dances within the energy flows, "When my soul was broken, I was rejected from existence. I have spent many fragments seeking the combination to be a human again." She makes a strong study through him for only then to turn away, "Dreamers cross from center to edge. The biggest fears especially seeking to guard the purpose of existence from Clothus that would otherwise break it all." She takes time going down to the stage. She aligned herself to look up from where they were talking. With working out the measurements of how much the weakening of protection is. She can finally measure out exclusion zones it can't be in and area where it will be. A guessing of other holes in the security of both the demon lord palace and the living world.

"That was rather rude of you." She didn't even bother looking up from the floor maps of the school layout.

"Everyone has a sort of salary to work a job to get. I have been hired to patch the security of places. To undo a few legal loopholes the headmaster has hanging about. You are currently spying my back

's your momentary point of why you must watch me." He blocked the image with his left. She looks up to him finally, "Your king is the representative of whatever boundaries to your creed of undertakers. His not only new to his position. He still unfinished molding his clay shape. You're all that's likely left of the legacy of previous kings, and he almost lost you." She slips the paper away, "If he doesn't harden up soon, he will share to loose not only his hold over your group." She looked about the courtyard outside as it was a good visual measurement to ratio scale the map in her mind with, "I don't think you have anyone ready to burden what looks like what is about to be all out war. I only seen sinner chains that thick when civil war was about to erupt." She pulled backward from walking away, and she huffed, "He will be fine through most of it. It's that his own heart is limited by how his own space grows. I heard that the strength of a monarch is the reflection of your realm. He will carry you all through dark times ahead and fall alone in the end." She is released. Not being carried backward anymore back to the king.

"What makes you the expert?" He barked, and she can't help a smile because of the human tone he carried. She sees his reflection that wears a mask of twisted worry and stress. The undertaker before her doesn't even know his masked one. The way he sounds threaded of his emotions. For her, this guy for now is an open book. But she has no way to teach him the masked ways. She doesn't even know them at all. As a child with a tantrum, he left her behind for some other beg of request to do other than looking after her. She lingered watching his back, how his white hair continued to fray of split ends and tangle knots. When he is gone, she goes into the sunlight of a bright, blazing day. Holding the school map with turning about to find true north. She walked, circling the courtyards and around the buildings. Making a mental map of the outside of each of these places. She avoids the places she doesn't need to bother, like the music room and art department. The ringing bell was drowned background sound. Stomps and loud voices of all these students changing classes. The sound of mockery was not what she expected as she refocused back in with life around her. The school map torn shreds and lame name calling. She just looked like an easy, small victim to terrorize. To test her.

"What is the meaning of this?" A human teacher breaking things up. Named each student here. The middle to young man in a neat teacher suit. He was a respected teacher that either these students enjoyed his classes or he held authority for something important.

"A pleasure to meet you. I am Eliza. I was in the middle to getting my baring with the school grounds. I am also trying to make a request the headmaster asked of me." She said nothing at all that made anything to do with these kids bullying her or the story they created. The teacher picked up the torn map on the floor, being evident that she was right. But it's her word against a group.

"Miss Eliza." Handing her the paper, "Are you meant to be in a class?"

"I might be. I only arrived last night. I am taking basic English language and literature. But not for the sake of exams." She folds the peices up, "Time has escaped me. I will have to apologize to whomever is my English teacher."

"Well, you're in luck. You're in my class. I saw your name in my class registration this afternoon." She warmly smiles, which took back others.

"I see. Thank you. I am sorry if there is a class I missed." He shook at this and looked at the group of all these other pale students like she was a monster. But clearly, it might be because realizing that she might be one of those demons in disguise deals.

"As for the rest of you, get back to your things. If I find you picking on other students like this again. I will sit detention with you all at lunch." They leave as they should.

"What sort of other thing do you do that isn't just teaching English?" She asks with walking beside this teacher.

"I manage a group of students to travel to Sigil. I sort of the leader looking after them. I saw that you are a solo act and that there weren't restrictions to ask you anything." Short silence followed, but she skipped slight ahead to look back to him. A warm smile and handd behind her back.

"The demons call me, lady marionette. I am a badly cursed soul in a living human shape. I am human when I am here, but when I walk to the other side. I am different. I am protecting you while you are protecting the chosen students. I do other things like legal papers. I am just struggling with grammar. But my authority is flimsy, no different to some undertaker among humans." She tilts in looking at the sky, "What really matters right now is capturing or getting rid of that has been putting the students into comas. I wanted to know if these particular students were in a sigil group together or were connected together in some way. Be it any learning difficulties to share the interests of something. Are they all from the same money level of poverty, or are they all born to the same hospital?"

The teacher grimaced at the sheer depth of her questions that were unlike her appearance. He brushed sweat and could consider why the students picked on her. But she doesn't need help from not being bullied. She will have to be shielded from hurting the students that test her too far. He closed up a little in thinking about her questions as he never considered connecting these together in a group. He shook for now, and she softly nodded, accepting he didn't have anything this moment.

"I look forward to working. I shall let you be. Forgive my ignorance." She gave a half-hearted wave with her left hand. She now skips about a different route around. She uses most code lock doors in navigation. She began to mentally map these internal building layouts in the areas she can access or consider constant use. The day passed quickly, but she followed the foot traffic of normal students. Seated in class like everyone else and was lost among the faces and vast numbers. The class ended quickly as it started. She was exhausted from the critical thinking and vast improvement one class does for her. It isn't just about writing, but it was also the social interaction among those of her table and fellow students around here. She learned the sort of interactions that the unseen causes to everyday life. She makes a mental note of the better understanding of the sort of purposes these unseen have impacted. Something as a minor ad preventing a pencil roll could be the way to prevent them from breaking concentration or avoid an imp doing something bad. For as long as direct focus is toward the teacher and / or paper in front, so much other work happens behind the class.

"Miss Eliza." She is among the last to leave as per normal. She had been frustrated with her basic writing today, "Do you know why you have difficulty?" He comes to sit beside her, and they go through the bit by bit. It may be backwards, but it was mostly correct punctuation and placement of capital letters. At this age, that is all that matters in these first level classes.

"I have dyslexia. I struggle with white paper all my life. I feel that it jumps about or strains my eyes." He softly nods at a classic dyslexic trait. She once more looked for the pencil she was just using, so focused that she completely lost it. She tried not to let it bug her, but it often has before. But this one to one of going through the work had calmed down these negative thoughts. The teacher makes a few mental notes and lets her free for whatever next in the schedule. He had to get gear ready for Sigil. He had learnt about her in a more human look of her. She really just a clever girl with some depth knowledge but lacks the basics. She is dyslexic but that is an advantage in how she solves things backwards. She has her creepy moments but when she really focused in the present, she just an average girl. She definitely has potential to get far with life but she will lack the self-confidence of believing herself as this is another common trait. She can see all her flaws and be brought down in knowing them. He however pondered what sort of things she is if she does cross to the other side. As her personality and manners will not change not matter what form a person takes. Even the demon headmaster has traits that carries in no matter what shape he is. Getting to know her has made her more a person then just a face in a crowd. It had cut through any negative talk of what sort curse she burdens and whatever drama both sides of her family have against her.

She exits the class with bagpack on. She has a basic mapping of rhe living realm that it time she began to repeat this for the demon palace and layers like the dreamer walk veils. She will need to trade peace with the dwellers that claimed this territory already.

She looked up of a student that punched a wall. They looked pale and sickly. She walks right close and pats them with left hand. She gives a deep study for the slow reaction and the punch she dodged from such a slow move. Adding that was that she sees through many veils and wasn't ignoring the manifestation of some sort curse attached on them. As her human hands worked at calming them down. Her shadow removed and cleaned away that curse. Now that they look eye to eye, this was the student from morning assembly that was being likely bullied by popular kids. She finished and posed showing she was just making sure they were OK. A soft warm smile and genuine concern. They blink away that cursed negative energies and looked to her in that relief.

"Karma is a terrifying beast. Not only does it pay kindness a little but it dumps ton of evil upon those that do evil." She pats shoulder, "You should head to the nurse to have your hand and arms looked at. We need people like you." They all shy towards the floor. A loud group was approaching down the way with the eventually making to these two.

"About time. Here. We have to find a a teacher that will allows us to grant the mission we asked for. We have to have a full able party." Attitude and no regard for how the student is feeling. Interesting was that a crystal panel from Sigil showed itself to Eliza. It updated her on the sort of request this team made and the rejections of why. Even the headmaster had rejected them.

"You are all to go back to your droms. remove your gear and stop this." She used the voice that spoke over all these proud brats, "This isn't a request you can do without losing someone." They laughed at her.

"We know. That'd what this guy for." She stares at them darkly but only given they see her young face so it's all a joke. The victim here sighed and frozen up at wherever the bandages around both hands and arms came from. They picked up what should have been the worst set of handed down armour. It was repaired and remade into a better fitting and lighter weight. It seems stronger. Still the group is hyperfocused on her and that she was a pathetic little girl not going anywhere.

"You're the girl that the fallowns said was a monster. So what makes you a monster? You eat people? You steal?" They all come up with more and more rude assumptions. Jokes on them, she doesn't care.

"OK... fine. You want to die? You want do this mission and die? You think it make fame on the internet, huh. Using a camera to film the sacrifice you had all lined up. You don't care if this breaks law, ruins the school reputation or that you will put the rest of the world in mortal danger?" She cuts their snobby words.

"You want to be famous?" Her mask tears off hear face, leaving a void of darkness behind that mask. Black drips were skin was attached. The mask floats to the adult height and a long blacken arm lifted from out the ground, lifting a door frame. The mask carves a most toothy of smiles and partly open with black drool, "Be pur guest. You try to survive through this doorway. Tell me you heroic tale of how you failed to save your freinds, family and lost everything you knew?"

The group backed off the doorframe thus upon the floor surface and she moved to stand at the opening.

"What you waiting for? I have invited you with my permission. You don't trust me?" She taunted them but the only brave kid here is the one she was trying to help. So she lets them walk through the door. They see the other side of the door from within the frame, so a student ran to the door frame of the other side. The student vanished of course. She stands posed in waiting.

"Where did he go?" The leader kid of the group went to her face and to pull her for answers. But her mask lows between with deep frown and dripping black.

"This is my doorway. You wanted to go see the monsters and I give you a door of monsters. Come on in and film as you please. Go on and do exactly as your heart wishes. Come along and die too. Just as you sent the other to sacrifice." They ones not brave scatter like scared cats with only a core group of four people behind. Well one dropped fainted on the floor and the camera was smashed. But she a good girl. She checked them to see if they were still breathing. In her touch, the camera was brand new and working just fine. She posed offering the camera.

"This is a bluff. You would actually allow us to die." A scythe blade tested through this arrogant speaking twit. He looks down at the weapon blade through his stomach and is scared of where the blood and what organs lost. The blade leaves no mark behind as it exits and the leading kid pats around being soon confident of his assumptions. He walks right through the door and then screams leaving it. This woke up the guy on the floor and they all are terrified. She puts her mask back on and the doorway gets put away. She turns in smile towards the guy she helped, he was here the whole time. Smiling with her.

"That was amazing. What is that place?" She doesn't say anything. She still has this camera. She pocket it.

"Miss Eliza. I don't remember telling you it OK to send students in groups with you."

"I was having a little fun and just doing krama justice. They didn't leave the realm at all. Not a single one. I did that to bluff the snot into thinking that I sent them somewhere. I did write a notice above that." The headmaster formed solid before them. He in demon skin and finery indeed looking onto the panel to check. That she has totally restricted the whole group of students as Orange. There is a traffic colour system in what allows granting of crossing or not. This is a universal system for all areas if Sigil and very few can change other beings color traffic lights. Every single normal blind human being is a red or black - there was no lawful way or that any sane allowance of crossing until they are dead. In turth these more then just red, orange, green, white and black but those are the only public visible ones. There was other colors for higher Sigil ranks to recognize for mission task purposes, she can see and knows them. With this matter made more clear now, he looks onwards at those that watched from a distance and to the only student that here as witness.

"So it was all an illusion through the door you made appear?" The student asking.

"It wasn't an illusion but rather a peel back of a curtain. This world has layers and some layers are movable. You were still here among the living and completely safe stood only beside me. The things that living between curtains are what the headmaster has asked of me to hunt down. So the monster that left them screaming was my hunt. It been a very productive day." She wipes away the black still dripping from her. She had to adjust her face to sit correctly.

"Miss Eliza is both a Seer and a Fallown. She is much worse than both of them in term of her knowledge of these things. But I will argue that she been the only one of both sides that I have relied anything so highly important."

"Here is my completed missions today, the report of your boundaries from my perspective and the extras. I had some spicy interest in weeding some fake servants among your staff. Although I am really sorry that Ragnar ate two." The thick wade of neat paperwork. He takes it with a scowl, "I have marked out the boundaries that I am watching with mix sand lining system. If it's in my sand box, I will personally deal with it. As a good neighbor, I have already began good trades among people and left a satisfactory gift of appeasement at your throne." He jolts in knowing exactly where a full plate armour of God slayer scales has now suddenly appeared from and that he can believe the authentication. She pulls a business card from a sleeve, "This is my stamp. This is what I use as a signature or as a sort of logo for my trade. I have ledge of everything and where is it sourced from. But it is for the best to not question things. Not all my items are from this space." He takes the card, "In a extreme emergency, that card can be torn in two halves and a portion of me will be summoned. I am not saying this as a good thing. You really must be extremely desperate if you dare tear this card." She smiles and now she was done adjusting. She looked normal again. She turned away, getting on with more bugs between curtains. The stunned student left behind in whatever demon language that was, waits patient for the headmaster. Given there is much else to take from this, the headmaster flutters hand of dismissed action and the disappeared too. The student left to be helped by fellow friends and other staff. Taken to rest in the infirmary.
