Chapter 11: Chapter 10
After deliberating on what to for a while, I decided to get settled in first and starting helping as much I can.
I asked the receptionist where my cubicle was and I was led to an office with two tables replicating mine and a slightly larger table aside from them.
A woman that looked in her forties was seated behind the larger table, with furrows brows. Like the others in the room she was wearing a suit, but wore blue furry slippers on her feet.
She noticed I was observing her and looked up at me.
"Oh. Hello." She said "Davina, I presume?"
"Yes. Good day, madam."
She stood up and walked towards me "My name is Shalom. I am the head of the Client Relations Managing department."
She turned to the rest, who's heads were deep in work.
"These are your coworkers. Peter, Sola and Abeedah."
They raised their heads as their names were called, smiled and waved briefly, then return to their work immediately.
They were all one phone calls speaking in a manner that pacified and pleaded.
"Woah" I whispered but Mrs Shalom picked up on it.
"Woah, indeed. They situation is dire as a result of our competition released our product before we did. Our investor and patrons are not happy."
"What can I do to help?" I asked.
"You need to be properly oriented before handling high class clientele."
"However, I am about to leave for a meeting with one of our old patrons, who is also an investor. He plans on withdrawing his investment."
"So I'm going to help appease him?"
"That's the plan." She said.
"Well, that is my job. When do we leave?" I asked
She took off her furry slippers and slid a pair of black heels on.
"Now."

We went to a golf club resevefor the high class. We paid a hefty sum for a day pass and walked in, searching for Mr. Ekene, our patron.
We meet him golfing with an obvious frown on his face.
Mrs Shalom tapped me and and tilted her head in the direction Mr Ekene was standing in.
"There he is. We're going to make him keep his investment in. I will do most of the talking, you just have to agree with me in a gentle manner. Watch your words and remember, always smile." She said.
I nodded, very determined.
"Mr Ekene! What a pleasure! Good day sir." She exclaimed.
"Good afternoon, sir. A pleasure to meet you." I said with a very friendly smile.
He turned, saw Mrs Shalom, grunted, then saw me, thought for a while and then shook his head.
"Afternoon, Shalom. You done even have to bother" he said
"No, no, no sir. We are not bothered, instead we know that it will be of the utmost benefit for you and REACH to remain in partnership."
I nodded, not wanting to cut into the conversation.
"Always with the words" he turned to me and asked "who is this?"
Mrs Shalom brightened her smile and said "Well sir, this is our newest member Davina. She has just started working with us after being scouted by Mr Igwe himself!"
Mr Ekene's eyes flickered with curiosity.
"Kingsley chose you?" He asked me
"Yes sir. He saw me potential and employed me. I am most honoured to be working with someone as great as you are."
"As wordy as you are, she is." He said
Mrs Shalom said "Eloquent indeed, but Davina?"
"Yes, madam?"
"Unfortunately your honour to be working with Mr Ekene here will not continue any further seeing as he wants withdraw." She tossed me a look.
'Ah' I understood immediately.
"Sir, this is my first time in firm as big as REACH. As soon as I heard I was working with individuals as competent as you are, I was more interested by that than just simply working there."
Mr Ekene was in thought.
I looked at Mrs Shalom and she gave me approval to continue.
"Mr Ekene, this incident is simply a minor setback caused by a disloyal employee and a company without integrity as you have heard. All hands are on deck at the company in developing the product into an even better one. We are also investigating the case to find the perpetrator as soon as possible. Bear with us and we can assure an increase in the value of your investment within the first trimester of our product launch."
We waited and he thought.
Mr Ekene's head shot up and he said "Alright, I'll stay."
Mrs Shalom and I pumped are fists in excitement
'Yes!' I thought, rejoicing at my first secured client.
"Thank you so much sir, you won't regret this."
"I better not." He said.
"We'll take our leave now, sir" She said
As soon as we were out of Mr Ekene's earshot Mrs Shalom gave me a pat on my back and said "Not bad, rookie"
'Yeah. Not bad, me.
