Kayden paced up and down the hallway, right in front of the ICU, his heart in his mouth. Bryson had luckily come in time and taken them to the hospital, the doctors had taken Everette into the ICU three hours ago, they've refused to say anything about his condition ever since.

" Kayden, you need to calm down ". Bryson said standing up from where he has been sitting down watching Kayden pace up and down. " he's at the hospital, he's gonna be fine, you need to stop worrying ".

Kayden couldn't agree more but those words did not stop him from being a worrying mess.

Bryson sighed then stood up, he walked to Kayden placing a hand on his shoulder. Kayden paused and looked at him.

" you need to go home ". Bryson said.

" what?! no I can't go home ".

" will you just listen to me, it's almost four in the morning, it's not safe for a pure blood alpha like you to be seen in the open and in a hospital, people will ask questions ".

" but h-"

" I'll stay here and watch him, you need not worry plus the company needs you, you have a shareholders meeting by seven, you need to go home and get ready ".

Kayden sighed in defeat. " fine I'll go, but you gotta promise me that you'll call me immediately he wakes".

Bryson was a bit taken aback by his request, he has never seen his friend so concerned about anyone, even his own family but for some reason, he's behaving like it's his wife in the brink of death.

" promise me Bryson ". Kayden said shaking him.

Bryson sighed. " fine, I promise but your behaving do strange, you don't even know the guy yet your being so concerned about him ".

Kayden shot him an annoyed expression.

" bullshit, off course I'm concerned, I hit him with my car, if this should get out, you know what it'll do to my reputation, the reputation of the company and the reputation of the clan, so I'm not worried about him, I'm worried about myself ".

" hmmm". Bryson hummed nodding. " okay then, you can leave now ".

Kayden nodded then started walking down the way that'll lead to the exit.

He couldn't help but ponder on what Bryson said, he didn't know the Omega but he couldn't stop worrying about him, he had convinced Bryson that he's only worried about himself but he hadn't fully convinced himself cause even as he left the office and entered inside his car, he couldn't get the Omega out of his mind.

Kayden sighed leaning back on his office chair. The meeting had taken longer than he had anticipated. He closed his eyes taking in a deep breathe trying to calm his nerves. The buzzing of his phone filled the air, he intended ignoring it knowing fully well that the caller will eventually give up if he doesn't pick up but whoever the person is, did not want to stop.

Kayden sighed then stretched to his table and picked up his phone, he didn't bother to check the caller ID, he just picked the call then put the phone to his ear.

" hello ". He said coldly.

" oh thank God you picked, you need to come to the hospital now" Bryson said over the phone. He sounded really tense and it made kayden worried.

" what? what happened? ".

Bryson sighed. " I can't really explain it to you now, just get your butt over here and now ".

" but-". kayden started but Bryson had already cut the call.
