Kayden sighed leaning back on his chair throwing his head back and trying to get rid of the slight headache he was feeling. He sighed and picked up his phone, the ringing wouldn't let him be.

" yes, Bryson". He said into the phone and immediately he picked up the call.

" ugh....dude, what the fuck have you been doing?"

Kayden rolled his eyes. " what else but working ".

Bryson dramatically cleared his throat and then sighed.

" did you forget something?".

" what Bryson?".

" oh, your such an idiot ". Bryson said and Kayden could just picture him rolling his eyes. " have you forgotten that a certain silver-haired boy called erm... I don't know...Everette is waiting for you....at home ".

That's when it clicked, he completely forgot that Everette is at home.

" incredible Kayden, you called me this morning to check on him and suddenly you forget ".

Kayden sighed rubbing his templates. " I have been busy with work all day, it is not my fault but he's fine right? why are you calling? ".

" The maids have been calling, he has refused to eat or take his medicines until he sees you ".

Kayden found himself heating up with the statement.

" that's cute ". He muttered to himself smiling sheepishly forgetting the fact that he was still on the phone with Bryson.

Bryson cleared his throat.

" you still there bro? ".

" erm...yeah, I'll just go home now ".

" Well hurry, he probably won't sleep until he sees you so don't keep him waiting ".

" Hmmm, I hear ya, just cut the call so I can conclude work and go home ".

" yeah, yeah, bye and good night ". Bryson said and with that, he cut the call.

Kayden still had a lot of work to do but after hearing everything that Bryson had just said, he pushed everything to the next day and stood up picking up his suit jacket and leaving the office.

" Welcome back sir ". A maid greeted Kayden immediately after he entered the house.

" hmmm ". He hummed with a nod. " where is he?".

" In his room sir, he hasn't come down or eaten anything since he came, all he wants is to see you ".

Kayden smiled at that talk then nodded.

" Okay, I'm going up to see him, bring something up for him ".

" Okay sir, I'll do that ".

Kayden walked past her going upstairs down the corridor and straight to Everette's room. He immediately knocked on the door.

" I told you, I don't wanna eat anything, just leave me alone".

Everette's voice came from the other side of the room and Kayden could sense how upset he sounded.

He chuckled and opened the door entering inside.

Everette is seated cross-legged on the floor playing with a pink panda bear.

" I told you, I don't...". Everette started but trailed off raising his head to see Kayden leaning on the wall beside the door.

" your back? ".

" did you miss me?". Kayden asked with a teasing smile.

Everette frowned then looked back down at the panda bear.

" Whatever, no I didn't, just go away ".

Kayden cocked his head to the side seeing the obvious statement that he is angry at him. He sighed then walked to him sitting at his side.

" I'm sorry, your angry at me because I didn't come home early, right?".

" it's ok, that other...what's his name?"

" you mean Bryson ".

" uh huh! he told me you were at work and will be back late ". Everette said still playing with the panda bear.

" you didn't eat anything all day? ".

" I wasn't hungry ". Everette replied still not looking at Kayden.

Kayden sighed and then there was a knock on the door and the maid walked in with a tray.

Everette stopped playing with the panda bear and looked up at the maid immediately frowning.

" I told you, I'm not hungry".

Kayden sighed. " come on Everette, let's eat together okay?".

Everette immediately smiled happily.

" yay! can we? ".

" uh huh! then you can take your medicine and go to bed okay? ".

" okay ".

The maid dropped the food on the floor right in the middle of Kayden and Everette and then left the room. Everette dropped the bear aside focusing on the food and Kayden.

Kayden picked up a spoon and then fetched a spoon full of the dish stretching it to his mouth.

" come on have a bite ".

he looked down at the food and then at me.

" Hmm, ". he hummed nodding then he took the whole spoon in. After a lot of talking and Everette eating, he finally finished the food. Kayden smiled to himself then picked up the tablets on the side of the tray. he poured out a glass of water.

" come on, time to take your medicine".

he frowned making a disgusted face and as if reading his mind, Kayden said. " yes you need to take it ".

" come on, open your hand ".

he didn't say anything, he just opened his hand and I dropped the drugs on his hand giving him a glass of water. he didn't complain but just took it drinking the water.

" yuk ". he exclaimed scrunching his nose in disgust.

Kayden cracked up at his expression. he then took the cup of water from him keeping it back on the tray.

" very good, next time, if you know I'm going to be back late, don't wait up, and please eat ".

" okay ". Everette replied and nodded picking up the panda teddy bear he had put aside.

" I'll just call the maid too ". Kayden started but a yawn from Everette interrupted him. he turned to look at him, he already looked sleepy.

" okay time to go to sleep, come on ".

" I can't ". Everette said yawning again.

" and why not? ".

" I haven't changed into my pajamas yet ".

Kayden sighed then stood up walking to the wardrobe, he opened it and then picked out Mickey Mouse pajamas. it's probably too childish for someone like him but then again, Everette thinks he's a five-year-old child, everything in his room is like that of a child.

he took the pajamas and gave them to him. Everette took it immediately and went into the bathroom. seconds later, he came out holding his panda bear and rubbing his eyes sleepily.

Kayden was seated on the computer chair using his phone so he didn't notice when Everette walked out of the bathroom.

Everette walked to the bed and sat on it, leaning on the headboard.

" Kayden come tuck me in ". Everette said getting Kayden's attention.

Kayden looked up at Everette who yawned pulling the sheets over himself.

" tuck me in ". Everette said again.

Kayden walked to the bed and sat down beside him.

tuck you in? but I don't know how to. Kayden thought to himself. he has always been alone his whole life, his parents were never there for him and he had to do everything himself, so all these things felt new to him.

he sighed, brushing his fingers through his hair.

" Just go to sleep okay? ".

Everette hugged the panda bear tight and closed his eyes shut and within a minute, the room was filled with his soft snores. Kayden didn't take his eyes off him, he couldn't and he didn't want to.
