Chapter 9: Chapter 9: The Warlock's Pact
This is the path of the Warlock!
Mortals with extraordinary charisma often attract the attention of powerful supernatural beings and various strange Magical Creatures.
In most cases, this attention brings disaster to these mortals, much like how Hawthorne was noticed by Heidi.
But in rare cases, these individuals can seize the opportunity to Pact Sign with these powerful beings, becoming their representatives in the material world's mundane society and sharing in their Overlord's potent Magic Power.
Such individuals are generally known as "Warlocks."
Undoubtedly, this is a shortcut for ordinary people to become stronger, and it's almost the most suitable path for Hawthorne right now. The higher the charisma, the greater the affinity for various external extraordinary energies, making the process of receiving an Overlord's power smoother and easier to grow stronger in the future!
This was Hawthorne's thought, but upon hearing it, Heidi's expression turned worried. "Master, it's not that Heidi doesn't want to share her power with you."
"It's just that, although my strength is decent in the South Harbor District, compared to truly powerful individuals in the outside world, I'm somewhat weak."
Her concern wasn't unfounded. While Heidi's strength is considered in the top three of the convent—though her position isn't very secure—compared to many of the world's powerful entities, like the archfey queen of the Feywild, the archdevil of Baator, or ancient malevolent beings from distant stars, she's indeed lacking.
Therefore, Heidi was very concerned that if they did Pact Sign, she might not be able to share much power with her Master, limiting his potential significantly.
In response, Hawthorne smiled gently and took her hand. "But I trust you, Heidi. Compared to those powerful but sinister beings, I'd rather trust your sincerity."
Besides, I haven't encountered any powerful beings yet, so you're my only option, right?
That was his true thought, though such words would be too harsh, so he kept them to himself.
He gazed into Heidi's eyes gently and added, "It's not about strength or weakness; in the future, we can completely train and grow stronger together, can't we?"
Instantly, Heidi was so moved that she nearly shed tears. "Master—"
She could no longer contain her surging emotions. She suddenly lunged forward, kissing his lips, then reached out to remove his clothes, actively soliciting lovemaking.
"Mmm…"
Hawthorne was caught off guard, his mouth sealed by her warm, soft lips. Then, he felt a small, fragrant tongue exploring his mouth, playfully teasing his own.
Immediately, an uncontrollable desire flared in his lower abdomen. With such a beautiful woman in his arms, soft and yielding, he disregarded the Pact, turning her over and pinning her beneath him.
"Hmm..."
Heidi murmured softly as Hawthorne had already lifted her large Nun Garb, revealing her delicate, snow-white figure underneath. His large hands roamed her smooth body, his calloused fingertips from hard labor climbing her tender snowy peaks, teasing her most sensitive buds.
Although shy, the witch was also diligently helping him remove his pajama pants, her jade hands guiding his body to become one with hers...
"Oh-"
"Ah..."
Sounds of the girl's pleasured moans and the man's satisfied sighs echoed through the room. The soft glow from the chandelier below cast their writhing figures onto the walls, accompanied by the crisp sounds of flesh colliding and water splashing, like a captivating cinematic performance.
Finally, an hour later, the exhausted Hawthorne lay on the bed, panting heavily, his mind blank, his eyes slightly unfocused as he savored the afterglow of their intense battle.
Beside him, the nude Heidi obediently knelt on the bed, diligently using her small mouth to clean the last traces. Although her delicate figure was now marked with Hawthorne's reddened handprints, she still appeared energetic, as if she could continue for much longer without tiring.
Magical Creature is indeed that powerful.
After she had been cleaned up, she nestled back beside Hawthorne, her heavy chest pressing against his arm, her large eyes with long eyelashes blinking once, filled with a gentle tenderness like flowing water: "Master, I have just drafted a simple Pact. Please take a look and see if it is suitable?"
Magical Creature is indeed so powerful.
After cleaning up, she snuggled up next to Hawthorne, her heavy chest pressing against his arm. Her large eyes with long lashes fluttered, filled with a gentle, water-like tenderness. "Master, I've just drafted a simple Pact. Could you take a look at it to see if it's suitable?"
Hawthorne forced himself to focus, and soon saw the power of magic coalescing in mid-air, quickly forming a dark green parchment. On the parchment, written in light blue common language, was the Pact:
From this day forward, Party A and Party B agree to this Pact Signing. Both parties must strictly adhere to each obligation set out in the Pact. If violated, the violator's soul will be handed over to the other party for disposal.
Party A's Rights:
None.
Party A's Obligations:
Party A must unconditionally share all known knowledge, including but not limited to magic, history, religion, nature, and other disciplines and information, with Party B, without concealment, alteration, or delay for any reason.
Party A must unconditionally share all of their Magic Power with Party B, giving priority to Party B's needs when both parties require the consumption of Magic Power.
Party A must ensure their life safety at all times and, if necessary, sacrifice themselves to ensure Party B's safety.
Party A must be responsible for fulfilling all of Party B's life needs, including but not limited to food, living arrangements, entertainment, and nightlife.
...
Party B's Rights:
Party B has the right to declare Party A in breach of contract at any time.
Party B has the right to issue any orders to Party A at any time, regardless of their reasonableness or whether they exceed Party A's capacity ...
The responsibilities of Party B:
None.
At the bottom is the place for the signatures of Party A and Party B. Party A is signed as Heidi, and she has already signed it, while the space for Party B is still blank, waiting for Hawthorne to sign his name.
He glanced briefly at the content of the Pact and immediately felt a tingling sensation on his scalp: "Heidi, isn't this Pact a bit too unfair for you?"
He understated it; this agreement wasn't just unfair, it was more stringent than a Slavery Contract!
Even though the other party was a terrifying witch, Hawthorne still felt a pang of guilt at signing such a Pact.
In response, Heidi smiled and softly said, "I'm afraid my loyalty might waver in the future toward Master, so I intend to impose the strictest Pact to limit my actions."
Hawthorne raised his hand, gently caressing her face, speaking softly: "But I trust you, and I cannot tolerate exploiting my most loyal follower so harshly."
Saying this, he looked up at the Pact again and continued, "Come on, Heidi, if you consider me your Master, then you must listen to my words and modify some of the content according to my wishes."
"First, remove the first right of Party B..."
He continued, adding and removing several points in both parties' rights and obligations, ultimately forming a Pact that was much fairer than before: at the very least, from now on, Heidi only needed to share knowledge and a part of her power with him, while he could no longer drain her Magic Power or control her life and death without cost.
Honestly, the new agreement was still quite unfair. Party A was contributing unilaterally, while Party B's returns were minimal, entirely voluntary.
But this change eased Hawthorne's conscience considerably. Moreover, he silently set a principle for himself in his heart.
I will not let down any witch who sincerely follows me.
He quietly vowed, and finally, with Heidi's assistance, he slowly signed his name on the Pact. Thus, the Pact slowly shattered, transforming into countless pale green light points that merged into their bodies.
Hawthorne immediately felt a flood of knowledge pour into his mind, as well as a surge of power flowing into his body. He offered no resistance, relaxing his being, feeling the vast and warm Magic Power from Heidi.
Oh, so this is what magic is like...
He then raised his left hand, conjuring a pure water sphere to appear in his palm.
A first-level Spell, Create/Destroy Water.
It was successfully cast so smoothly.
Hawthorne's lips curled up slightly; he knew that at this moment, he had fully gained Casting Ability, becoming one of the exceptional talents in all of Liberl Port.
