Wisp! Awaken in the Magical World

Chapter 157: Why Always Like This?

*Zuuuuu...*

Then, one of the barriers came down, and a shield came flying in Linfel's direction. Everyone looked at that, surprised to see that happened. "Linfel..."

Linfel smiled and used his Magic Energy Signature to bind the shield to him. It quickly began to float around his core, following Linfel's every thought. Finally, it shone with a blue light, and a Magic Barrier took form in from of it, adding a second layer to the shield itself. "Truly impressive. None of the Magic Devices I used so far had such a perfect response.

The way it moves in the air is even better."

Alvin felt like crying. "Didn't you just commend us for saving our Silver Cards?" Obviously, Milia and the others had the same thought as Alvin.

"That I did," Linfel answered, not feeling the least bit of shame. "However, my choice has nothing to do with armor. It is called Omnidirectional Shields, and they work apart from each other if you don't have them all. If you do have more than one, you can make them work together. Simply put, it does not matter whether I buy one now or all of them later. I already made up my mind I want them."

"So that's how it is..." Everyone understood.

Milia sighed. "That makes me feel a little jealous actually. You can work with a single piece, while for us, a single piece of armor would actually be more detrimental than beneficial."

Alvin and Zandel couldn't agree more.

*Vup!*

Then, the Shield Disappeared without a trace. "Alright, I'm done here."

In the room, there was a Magic Array for the Maguses and Familiars to use. When they all stepped on it, Fourth Dimensional power flowed around them, and with a flash of blue light, Linfel's group disappeared.

---

Back in Gertei City, there was a building of the Ventis Sect near the center of the city. The building wasn't that big, and the insides weren't manipulated by any Spatial Magic Arrays like the building for the Magic Control Test.

However, no one random could enter this build. There was a Magic Barrier on its only entrance and exit that prevented anyone from getting inside without special permission. The only ones allowed inside were the few contracted Maguses and Familiars from the Ventis Sect. They had only one job in there, keeping the over one hundred Fourth Dimensional Arrays working nonstop.

It was very similar to how the Fourth Dimensional Engines worked. Those engines were fast enough for you to travel inside this galaxy from one corner to the other in just a few months. As for these Magic Arrays, they weren't engines. Instead, they connected two different points that Maguses and Familiars could use to move between.

Calling it a Teleport Array would be wrong. After all, you are not bending space to disappear in one point to reappear in another. You are still making the journey between two points, but you are going through the Fourth Dimension for that.

The Fourth Dimensional Journey could bring you from one side of the galaxy to the other in a few months. Now, one can imagine how fast it would be to travel between two Fourth Dimensional Arrays that weren't more than a few hundred kilometers from each other. It was exactly because such points were not too far that this Array even worked. Otherwise, you would need the Fourth Dimensional Engine.

In the end, Linfel's group was transported from the bottom of the Dungeon back to Gertei City in a split second. It was so fast that it almost did look like teleportation. Naturally, the place they appeared was exactly this building in the middle of Gertei City. The same city they live in.

"Hum?" One of the few Maguses there noticed Linfel's group appeared while he worked on the maintenance of another Magic Array. "Oh! Seems like we have a few more Card Winners. How was it, first time?"

Linfel and the others were confused, though. "Where are we?"

The guy smiled. It was also his job to explain things to any newcomers through the Fourth Dimensional Arrays. "This is the Fourth Dimensional Transportation Building. This is where everyone who got access to the armor exchange area ended up after they were done with whatever they were doing. You are now in Gertei City.

If you are from some other city, then you will have to make your way back on your own."

"I see..." Linfel commented. "These Arrays are really convenient. We are from Gertei City, by the way."

The Magus continued to work on another Array. "Cool. The exit is on that side," he said while pointing out for a moment. "You can go now. Don't try to come back inside, though. Unless you work here, like me, you can't enter this building.

It only exists to receive those who complete the various tasks related to the cards."

Well, that was very convenient for Linfel's group. They reached the sixth floor, so their contracts would pay quite well. They also fought plenty of Magic Beasts and those Golems and Elementals. Now, it was time for them to consolidate what they had learned in the past weeks with Linfel. The same went for Linfel since he also practiced on his own in the Dungeon with his Soul Power.

"Thank you for the information, friend," Alvin nodded. He just wanted to get home already. "We are leaving now."

"Oh, just one thing," The Magus warned Alvin and the others. "Card owners are highly sought after. There are plenty of onlookers outside, just waiting for any new prey to come out. They can't do anything to you in the city, but they will definitely mark your faces, so be careful next time you leave the city."

"What is it? Some kind of Card Hunters?" Zandel complained with a dark expression.

"Did you know them?" The Magus asked back. "That's exactly how they are called."

Zandel's mouth twitched. He didn't want to guess anything, but seems like he did guess it... He then turned to Alvin and the others. "What do we do?"

Alvin pointed in the exit direction. "I don't think that guy over there cares too much about it..."

Zandel turned around and wanted to cry again. Already stepping outside, there was a wisp who didn't give a damn to the Card Hunters or whatever. "Why is he always like this?"

Milia and Alvin patted his shoulder. "We truly wish we knew the answer for that... Let's go."
