Chapter 95 - II
Facts had proven that keeping Wu Xiao around was still very useful. Compared to Wu Xiao, Xie Zuo’s life experience was pitifully little. Xie Zuo had never been to the Asura world and knew nothing about the rules and customs there. Wu Xiao, however, was a frequent visitor and familiar with everything in the realm.
After the snake and the octopus quietly slipped out of the underground palace, they regained their human forms. Under Wu Xiao’s instruction, they first went to the black market in the royal city and bought a black cloak, which was common among the Asuras.
This cloak carried a strong Asura aura and could completely mask one’s true breath when worn. They each wrapped themselves in a cloak, put on a hat, and used the accompanying veil to cover their faces, leaving only their eyes exposed.
After their disguise, Xie Zuo and Wu Xiao walked confidently down the street.
“The men here are very ugly, but the women are beautiful and hot. This king likes them!” Wu Xiao commented on the Asuras as they walked. “They’re very wary of strangers and only take off their veils for the closest people. It’s quite strange.”
At that moment, an Asura woman with a curvy figure passed by them, and Wu Xiao’s gaze was immediately drawn to her. “Even though you can’t see her face, her body is quite generous. Do you want to give it a try?”
“Go try it yourself!” Xie Zuo replied irritably. His focus was on the crowd; he wanted to hear what the Asuras thought of their new king. After all, the truth was often found among the people.
The Asura woman also noticed Wu Xiao’s attention and turned back to wink at him.
Wu Xiao couldn’t resist. Since his rebirth, he hadn’t had a chance to show off his masculinity. After hurriedly saying goodbye to Xie Zuo, he followed the woman into a dark alley to have some fun.
Xie Zuo walked into a lively teahouse, ordered a pot of good tea, and listened quietly to the conversations around him.
As he had expected, the Asuras were talking about their new king.
The Asuras had always been independent and rarely gathered in groups. Now that they were all in the royal city, it was clear that something significant had recently happened.
The previous Asura King had been tyrannical and cruel, but he had been scared to death by a newcomer. It was unheard of. In just one day, the entire Asura world had a new king.
“No wonder the old king was scared. Everyone knows how terrifying the thunder is. A ball of thunder suddenly exploded in the palace. If he didn’t die from it, he must have been scared to death!”
“Have you heard? They say the new king is the former Thunder Deity!”
“Yeah, yeah, and many who have seen him say he looks exactly like the Thunder Deity!”
“That’s unlikely. Why would the Thunder Deity come here?”
“How is it impossible? Everyone knows about his affair with the Little Demon King. Oh, I wonder what the Little Demon King looks like, to even seduce the Great Thunder Deity!”
“I heard that the Little Demon King got pregnant by the Great Thunder Deity…”
“Tell me more about it, hehehe…”
Xie Zuo listened, frowning as he realized these Asuras were recklessly discussing his and Huo Yao’s love history, exaggerating and distorting the details.
However, Xie Zuo also came to a conclusion: no one truly knew the origin of the new king. It would be a waste of time to listen further. Xie Zuo stood up to leave when he was suddenly stopped.
A sturdy male Asura, with a big sword and a commanding presence, sat down opposite Xie Zuo and said in a rough voice, “Wait!”
Seeing the man’s impressive aura, Xie Zuo thought he had been recognized as different from the others and quietly gathered demonic power in his palms. Suddenly, the Asura removed the black cloth covering his face, revealing a green face with fangs.
Xie Zuo was momentarily stunned by his ugliness. The Asura quickly covered his face again, looking at Xie Zuo eagerly.
Xie Zuo realized later: was he being flirted with? Was the guy in front of him trying to court him? He was used to seeing Huo Yao’s face and couldn’t bring himself to entertain the idea with such a primitive face. But how was he supposed to refuse?
Xie Zuo didn’t need to worry; Wu Xiao helped him handle it. As soon as Wu Xiao, who had finished enjoying himself, entered the room, he saw his heavenly father being pursued by someone. He was immediately enraged and forgot all about not causing trouble or being obedient. With a roar, he rushed forward.
The two burly men wrestled with each other, throwing punches as they fought over Xie Zuo, causing a commotion in the teahouse.
The Asura was no match for Wu Xiao and was soon beaten down. Xie Zuo, fearing that Wu Xiao might kill someone in the heat of the moment, was about to pull him away when suddenly the noise around them stopped.
“Wow!”
“Wow!”
The sound of chains dragging along the ground became clearer and clearer, and the Asuras all fell silent in fear.
Xie Zuo looked at the Asura King who suddenly appeared before him, and his heart raced. There was no need to doubt—it was Huo Yao. There was no need to verify; just being close and feeling his breath was enough to confirm it. Everything about this man had penetrated into Xie Zuo’s bones.
However, Huo Yao looked at him strangely, his gaze fixed on Xie Zuo as if he were a complete stranger.
Huo Yao stepped closer to Xie Zuo, wrapping an arm around his waist. “You are mine,” he declared.
In full view of everyone, Huo Yao took Xie Zuo away.
