Chapter 106 - I
Tiandi did not wait for Huo Yao to recognize him as his father, nor did he wait for his new name, nor did he trouble Huo Yao again. Instead, he encountered a difficult matter.
The Deity of the Underworld had come, and it was time for him to enter reincarnation and start a new life, but he refused to leave.
After being tempered by the fire of Underworld Karma, the power of the Deity of Underworld had become strong enough to destroy the whole world, and the existing thunder punishment could not shake him at all. Stimulated by the Heavenly Tribulation, he began killing in the six realms, using sinister methods to forcibly extend his life.
He should have been punished by the heavens for this, but he had stepped over divine punishment and was on the verge of entering the land of void.
If he had dared to confront Tiandi directly, there would have been no issue; he could have been killed immediately. However, the deity understood the laws of Tiandi well. He acted only as a monster below and did not dare to face Tiandi directly.
The true form of Tiandi could have instantly killed the wicked Deity of Underworld, but descending his real body into the world would have destroyed much of it, causing countless lives to perish in vain. To avoid this, Tiandi refrained from taking that risk. However, the divine power that his substitute could carry was limited, rendering it incapable of defeating the wicked deity.
Tiandi had no choice but to order others to encircle the Deity of Underworld first and then find a way to destroy him.
The Deity of Underworld, covered in miasma, continually released poisonous gas, causing plagues to spread across various realms. Every day he was allowed to live resulted in the deaths of countless more people.
After much deliberation, Tiandi travelled to the ends of the earth, cut down the first tree that had grown in the world, and used it to create a new substitute.
The ancient tree master had eternal life, and a substitute crafted from it would also be immortal. Tiandi believed that sending this substitute into the lower realm would allow him to counter the Deity of Underworld effectively. Even if it could not defeat him, it could resurrect endlessly to seal him and mitigate his sins.
Tiandi realized he had been too gentle and compassionate in the past, failing to create a proper weapon. Now, faced with such a powerful foe, he regretted his previous leniency.
He sent the new substitute into the lower realm, engaging in a fierce battle with the Deity of Underworld. Despite his efforts, he failed again and was humiliated, trampled beneath his enemy’s feet.
As Tiandi looked at the decayed form of the Deity of Underworld, he coughed up blood and said bitterly, “Just go. Look at how hideous you’ve become. You were once the most handsome among the six of them.”
The Deity of Underworld, now completely mad, shouted, “I am immortal! I control Underworld! No one can make me die, not even you!”
The sharp claws of the Deity of Underworld dug directly into Tiandi’s chest. Tiandi closed his eyes, prepared to be killed once more, blaming his own incompetence.
But this time, the Deity of Underworld failed.
“Boom—!”
Deafening thunder roared, and thick, ferocious lightning bolts rained down one after another, reducing the Deity of Underworld to nothingness.
Amid the storm of lightning and gunpowder smoke, Tiandi caught a fleeting glimpse of a tall, heroic figure before his vision darkened completely.
When Tiandi regained consciousness, he found himself back in the land of void. Rushing to find Huo Yao, he discovered that Huo Yao was still standing there, though the divine power restraining him had disappeared.
Tiandi took a deep breath and pretended to remain calm. “Was that you just now?” he asked.
Huo Yao wrote on the cloud: [Yes.]
Tiandi walked around Huo Yao twice and remarked, “Okay, you managed to break free from my restraints and sneak down. You’re really something.”
Huo Yao wrote: [Aren’t you going to say thank you? I just saved your life.]
Tiandi jumped and retorted, “Shameless thing! How dare you say that? I don’t need saving! I didn’t need your help, and I’m fine—no one can kill me! In the future, stay out of my business!”
Huo Yao remained silent. He was not as skilled at arguing as Tiandi and found it tiring to write too many words at once.
Seeing Huo Yao’s silence, Tiandi assumed he had won and walked away proudly.
The Deity of Underworld had been struck to death by thunder and lightning, shocking the entire Six Realms. For a long time, no one dared to challenge the rules of life and death again.
Tens of thousands of years passed, the Six Realms remained peaceful, and there was no harm caused.
Eventually, Tiandi walked around and came back to Huo Yao. Although he found Huo Yao boring and annoying, he still considered him tolerable when there was no one else to talk to. It was better than being completely alone.
However, Tiandi had no choice but to maintain some distance from Huo Yao. Ever since Huo Yao killed the Deity of Underworld, legends had spread throughout the Six Realms, claiming that Tiandi had summoned thunder and lightning to destroy others. Over time, Huo Yao became widely regarded as the execution weapon of Tiandi.
After their previous “battle for fatherhood,” Huo Yao never came up with a good name for Tiandi. Tiandi often used this as an opportunity to mock him, declaring with pride, “The one who can give the name is the dad!”
In the blink of an eye, another Mid-Autumn Day arrived, and Tiandi descended to join in the festivities as usual.
This time, in addition to various tributes, Tiandi received a pair of beauties—one male and one female, both with flawless looks and figures.
The great Tiandi, despite his age, blushed at receiving such a gift for the first time. With a racing heartbeat, he took the pair back to the land of void.
The pair of beauties introduced themselves: the man was Yue Rong, from the demon clan, and the woman was Qing Xia, from the immortal clan. It was their first time meeting Tiandi and their first time entering the land of void. Both were visibly frightened, with Qing Xia crying pitifully, her tears falling like rain on pear blossoms.
Seeing the little girl so frightened and in tears, Tiandi felt embarrassed. He realized that keeping them would be pointless since it would be boring for them to stay in the land of void. Generously, he told them they were free to leave.
Qing Xia gratefully kowtowed to Tiandi and quickly ran away. Yue Rong, however, left briefly but then returned.
Tiandi was boasting to Huo Yao about all the good food and sights he had experienced during the Mid-Autumn Festival when he noticed Yue Rong’s return. Curious, he asked, “Why didn’t you leave?”
Yue Rong knelt before him and said, “This humble slave is willing to serve Tiandi and remain in your service for the rest of my life!”
Tiandi waved dismissively. “I don’t need anyone to serve me. I can do everything myself. Go home.”
But Yue Rong didn’t move or raise his head. “Please, Tiandi, take me in! This slave has had no home for a long time. If I return, I will be toyed with by others. I beg you to grant me a place to stay!”
Tiandi responded with a surprised “Ah” before saying, “What’s going on? Come here and explain it to me properly.”
Seeing hope, Yue Rong shuffled forward on his knees and began recounting his life story to Tiandi.
It turned out that Yue Rong was a mixture of shark and demon. He had been born with extraordinary beauty but low demonic power. Such monsters were almost destined to become the playthings of those in power. Countless monsters like Yue Rong numbly accepted their fate, but Yue Rong saw an opportunity to change his destiny and he wanted to take a chance.
“…I humbly beg Tiandi to take in this lowly slave, and the slave will repay you by being a cow or a horse,” he pleaded.
Tiandi thought for a moment and replied, “Okay, I just happen to be too lazy to take care of some trivial matters, so you can be my messenger. Practice more when you have nothing to do, and visit the lower world from time to time.”
Yue Rong was overjoyed and kowtowed repeatedly. “Thank you so much, Tiandi!”
Yue Rong was a person who observed words and emotions carefully, making him very likable. He quickly noticed that Tiandi was a casual person who didn’t like to be interfered with. As long as Tiandi didn’t call for him, Yue Rong avoided appearing in front of him to avoid being an eyesore.
