Who let him join the Sword Sect?!

Chapter 180: The Titles Are All Real

Those loose cultivators were somewhat cautious; they left a person to secretly watch over Qiu Jidan.

It was an old demon cultivator at the Golden Core Stage, specializing in techniques of infiltration and substitution.

As he maneuvered to avoid the surveillance over Wangyang City and reached Qiu Jidan's side, he happened to hear Qiu Jidan's words about wanting to do good.

Before he could react, Qiu Jidan activated the Child and Mother Qiankun, exposing all their locations to the Demon Race's view.

At this moment, the old man only wanted to kill to vent his anger.

He flashed in a blink, reappearing next to the unconscious Qiu Jidan on the ground, raising his hand to strike.

However, just as he raised his hand, he felt sword qi attacking from behind. He turned to block, ghostly qi swirling around him, but he was slashed back several meters.

Although unharmed, his ghost qi was completely dispersed.

Zhang Ze put the Spirit Sword Witch Priest back into the sword box, feeling somewhat dissatisfied with the effect. This Witch Priest had been nurtured in the sword box for a long time and was equipped with the most powerful divine techniques, yet it could only shatter the protective ghost qi of this Golden Core demon cultivator.

It seemed the Golden Core was indeed problematic, but he wasn't afraid, as Brother Feng was there.

Two against one, surpassing a small Golden Core level shouldn't be an issue.

In fact, it wasn't an issue at all.

The demon cultivator initially thought it was just two Foundation Establishment cultivators, as easy as reaching into his pocket. But after a while, he felt these two were like two stinky stones.

It was peculiar; they simply wouldn't die.

The one with the dog ears had too many tricks, not knowing what cultivation technique he practiced. Fighting him was like dealing with a slippery eel; he even had a mirror, which was quite dangerous, nearly capturing him several times.

As for the one with cat ears, he only practiced swordsmanship, but the swordsmanship had inexplicable power, and he seemed to grow stronger as the fight went on, possibly breaking through in combat.

After a few moves, the demon cultivator thought about retreating. He wanted to quickly kill Qiu Jidan and escape, but found Qiu Jidan had already been taken away by the wolf demon at some point.

Seeing his plan failed, he didn't think further, immediately using a method to escape, bone wings unfolding on his back.

Just as he was about to flee far, he suddenly found himself unable to move.

A three-tailed fox demon in a cyan outfit appeared in front of the demon cultivator.

"Where do you think you're going?" Wei Changsheng blocked his path.

The demon cultivator couldn't speak, as a purple chain had locked all his vital points, leaving him unable to even move a finger.

Wei Changsheng was merely asking casually; he waved his hand, and a cold fox fire dived into the demon cultivator's mouth. Within three breaths, the demon cultivator turned to ashes, vanishing in the night wind of Wangyang City.

Wei Changsheng had actually been watching for a while. He had arrived from the moment Qiu Jidan activated the Child and Mother Qiankun. If the demon cultivator hadn't tried to escape, he would have continued watching.

He found the human cultivators Bai Tao brought back quite interesting.

Floating down gracefully, Wei Changsheng tidied his clothes, nodded to Zhang Ze and Lin Feng, then called out in a direction, "Hui Xue, come out, it's safe now."

Assured by the guarantee, Hui Xue, with her tail tucked between her legs, emerged from behind a snow pile, giving an awkward smile to Wei.

"What a disgrace," Wei Changsheng sighed.

Scratching her head, Hui Xue indeed felt embarrassed but was about to say something to save face when she suddenly remembered something.

"Hey! Wei, you're here, what about over there?"

The black light, still undispersed, emanated the aura of Nascent Soul experts clashing, felt throughout Wangyang City.

Who was fighting there?

"Oh, it's Big Donkey and the others." Wei Changsheng walked to the snow pile, checking Qiu Jidan's injuries.

Once he confirmed Qiu Jidan was unharmed, he snapped Qiu Jidan's neck with a crack, making him sleep more soundly.

Hui Xue and Zhang Ze Lin Feng both stood stunned.

"Big Donkey? Grandpa Big Donkey? Can he really fight a Nascent Soul?!"

...

At the Demon-slaying Bureau, Bai Tao stood atop the wall, mouth slightly open, looking dazed at the scene beyond the black light.

Within the black light, only two Nascent Soul demon cultivators remained on the Demon Path side, the others having been shaken to death by the battle's aftermath.

Bai Tao watched as his usually unreliable adoptive father pinned a bald Nascent Soul demon cultivator, beating him to a pulp.

And the Iron Hand, often played with by children, was indeed a magical artifact.

Wei Dalu's Iron Hand crackled with lightning, each punch delivering the power of thunder.

The bone shield magical artifact in the Nascent Soul demon cultivator's hand was full of cracks, evidently unable to hold on much longer.

The other demon cultivator wasn't faring well either, his body swollen and oozing pus, toxins eroding his body while yellow sand blinded his vision. The woman who called herself Celestial Poison Star·Hundred Scorpion Sand Concealment·Liu Shufen occasionally appeared from the sand shadows, leaving a wound on him.

The fight involved only these two, but there was no suspense, while the other elders of the Divine Egg Gang patrolled different parts of the city.

Wang Daniu stood next to Bai Tao, protecting her and defending the Demon-slaying Bureau on behalf of Wei Changsheng.

"Are you really telling the truth?" Bai Tao managed to ask after holding back for a while.

Wang Daniu, with his iron mask on, turned to Bai Tao, "Your adoptive father never lied to you."

"Then why didn't you prove it before..." Bai Tao was puzzled.

"Wangyang City was always peaceful; with Wei Changsheng, we old folks weren't needed," said Wang Daniu, touching his large ox horns, seemingly reminiscing the past.

Since Wei Dalu and his people settled in Wangyang City, they never displayed their Nascent Soul cultivation levels, spending their days babysitting or boasting with their brothers, without doing any serious work, even drinking until Bai Tao had to sobriety soup to wake them up.

Only a handful, like Wei Changsheng, knew the true cultivation of these old folks in Wangyang City.

The rest, including the children like Bai Tao, treated stories of Wei Dalu's exploits as just that, stories.

Wang Daniu continued recounting tales of the old brothers' past adventures to Bai Tao. Though she had heard these stories many times, listening to them now had a different flavor.

As Wang Daniu got more animated in his storytelling, Bai Tao's eyes shifted, suddenly asking, "Uncle Wang, what did you look like when you were young? Can you change into a young appearance like Aunt Liu to show me?"

Wang Daniu gave the young girl a look, "Don't play tricks; an ox race war cultivator never removes his mask."

Seeing her trick uncovered, Bai Tao pouted, "Hmph."

...

Right on time, fifteen minutes later, the black light shattered, and the black temple's shadow over Wangyang City's head completely dissipated.

As Wei Dalu turned to speak to Bai Tao, the corpse of the bald Nascent Soul demon cultivator subtly twitched.

A stream of black qi, carrying his remaining soul like a worm, burrowed into the ground and reappeared in the snowy field outside the city.

This wisp of black qi ascended into the sky, fleeing into the distance under the cover of night.

However, in the next second, several flying swords brushed past the black qi, the sword qi around them slicing the black qi into dust.

The owners of the flying swords didn't even notice the presence of this wisp of black qi.

...

In Wangyang City, Zhang Ze squinted eastward, spotting a meteor.

In the night sky, seventeen streaks of light were descending towards Wangyang City.

Just as he was about to pull Lin Feng along to watch the excitement, he suddenly thought he was hearing things.

Because Zhang Ze felt he heard Junior Sister's voice.

"Senior Brother, I'm here!"

The voice was loud, audible throughout Wangyang City, just as Zhang Ze thought he was hallucinating.

He saw the meteor coming straight for him.

After several whooshes, seventeen flying swords were embedded in the ground all around Zhang Ze.

Junior Sister crashed into Zhang Ze's arms, giving him a big kiss on the cheek.

Zhang Ze fell sitting on the ground, staring at Chen Qin sitting on him, stunned for a long while before asking.

"How did you get here?"

"Hmph, of course, I snuck out without telling my dad," Chen Qin replied proudly.
